ReZourceman Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 And I tried vice versa, again it does not work. I currently have a different head on Nova, but I cannot remember where I got the head from. I will get a snap. Repeter, I don't mind people copying my ideas at all! We all have to inspire each other. :) Here we go; Maria Hill Piledriver Wrecker Bulldozer Thunderball (chain is WIP) Crimson Dynamo Mandarin Quote
Repeter Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 (edited) @ Repeter, could you please reduce the pics size to 800 pixels maximum, as per our Member Guidelines? Thank you. If you need help with re-sizing images, you can find an useful tutorial by following the link in my signature. Sorry, LuxorV...I think I corrected to the right size now. @Joker1: I love your Killer Croc. @ReZourceman: I hear angels sing when you post pics. I also just ordered that same afro for that same dude a couple hours ago! I just got back from the Lego store and got some small sets, just for the mini parts. I also hit up the 'make 3 minis for $10' thing. I have a bunch more figs to photo and post, which I'll do in the morning. I'm kinda obsessed...20 in 2 days. Edited January 13, 2013 by Repeter Quote
Repeter Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) Here is my latest batch. Again, I'm working with limited resources, so some parts will change as I get the pieces...Also, I still can't thank you all enough for the ideas. It's been fun putting these together and drawing on all of your great customs. Orion, front and back: Wildcat and my take on Rom, the Space Knight: Havok and Kraven (Havok has other bits, but I like the white when he is chilling): Grey Gargoyle and Morbious (had to figure out something for all these Batman capes): I love you, Mary Jane...and Black Widow (would like new faces on both these gals): The wily fellows, Starfox and Longshot: Aaaand, just to follow in ReZourceful's footsteps, here is a group shot of my Marvel minifigs, sans Hulk and JJ, who were out having a beer at the time: Edited January 14, 2013 by Repeter Quote
MattZitron Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Love them! You've inspired me to make my own ROM! What Legs did you use? Quote
ReZourceman Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Awesome creations Repeter. Starfox is brilliant (so obscure). Question; who has/is there flesh legs? I need Namor IN MY LIFE. Got a top half. Quote
Hobbestimus Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Patrick from Spongebob has legs molded in flesh plastic, but you'd have to remove the swimsuit printing, so it wouldn't be strictly purist. Closest I can think of, though. Quote
Oky Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Well, there's also Bacta Tank Luke, but Patrick's shorts are probably much closer to Namor's speedos than Luke's diaper. Quote
Repeter Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) Love them! You've inspired me to make my own ROM! What Legs did you use? Do it! I had a bunch of alternate things going when making ROM, so I'd love to see what you come up with. I used the legs from the new CMF knight. Awesome creations Repeter. Starfox is brilliant (so obscure). Question; who has/is there flesh legs? I need Namor IN MY LIFE. Got a top half. As you can tell from the quote above about ROM, I like the obscure characters from comic books. Starfox makes me feel 11yo again. I wish we could find some plain flesh legs...so many characters would open up. This brings me to a question...what is purist? Is there a scale, like 'kinda purist'? Basically, I've tried to stick to the tenet of not adhering anything; no paint, stickers or glue. I'll give a list of examples, tell me if and how much they violate the purist credo: 1. I had some mangled handcuffs that I trimmed down to make the gauntlets on my Black Widow. 2. I trimmed a white cape to make a lab coat for my Lizard/Doc Conners...if it ever arrives in the mail. 3. I want to remove some paint from legs (the example of Patrick's swimmy suit is a good one). 4. I bought some colored dental rubber bands, which would be handy for gauntlets, belts and straps (is there even a list of official Lego brand rubberband colors?). Oky Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Cutting parts, removing paint, and using non-Lego parts such as rubber bands are definitely no-nos in purist customizing. If you want a tethered white cape, you could just use that of Arctic Batman. Bricklink has a list of all Lego rubber bands here. Quote
Repeter Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Well, I've remained purist so far, Oky, but something tells me I will eventually stray a bit, for rubber bands and making my own clothing...I'm both a 'do-it-yourself' and 'do-what-you-want' type person. I'll always try and stay purist, but I just know myself to well to promise, lol. Anyway, here is my last batch for a bit, as I am out of fleshy parts and need new torsos and legs. I have a couple parts orders in, we'll see how long they take to arrive. Hope you guys like them! Colossus...def still needs some work: Here is my latest in the "Obscure" line...although, he did get his own 4-issue,limited series once...The Black Knight (his red cape, under the black cape did not turn out well in the pic, but looks cool, so I thought I'd mention it): And, two more Spidey bad guys, idea from you guys here: Sorry for the fuzzy pics, I am at work today and had to use a bunch of window light...somewhat uncontrollable. ReZourceman Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Awesome. Love them all, particularly Black Knight. I am desperate to create a Black Knight, and that is a damn good attempt. Quote

Ha, I knew you would like the Black Knight. I'm working on creating his uncle, the evil-doer who used the name in the late 50s, early 60s. I find a lot of the comic characters from the 'Silver Age' will work well in Lego. Not only do I love the style from that era (Jack Kirby--I love him), but the block colors and their slightly humorous slant make for great minifigs. Quote
Brickscape Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 (edited) Question; who has/is there flesh legs? I need Namor IN MY LIFE. Got a top half. Don't forget Harry Potter in his swimsuit from Goblet of Fire... Also wanted to give a shout out to ROM (and the purist customs of him). I love that book. Edited January 16, 2013 by Brickscape Quote

I find a lot of the comic characters from the 'Silver Age' will work well in Lego. Don't forget Harry Potter in his swimsuit from Goblet of Fire... Ah yes, forgot about him and Viktor Krum, but they're kinda hard to come by. Their legs would do nicely for Namor (they are swimsuits after all ). Quote
Repeter Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 (edited) @ReZourceman: I know a classic Namor would be preferable (for the non-purist route, I saw ankle wings made by some company, I think Brickarms?), he also has that other, fairly cool look, wearing all black. In that version, he has black pants:http://www.google.co...,r:20,s:0,i:216 Edited January 16, 2013 by Repeter Quote
LuxorV Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Actually, the boot wings are made by BrickWarriors. Quote

Im a brickmaster. Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Rezurceman, that Crimson Dynamo as amazing! You nailed pretty much all of his versions perfectly!( Glad to see some Iron Man love!) I like how textured Repeters Sand and Aqua Man look. Nice job! Quote
ReZourceman Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Next batch! Some might need a bit of work, others I am really happy with! Cloak and Dagger. Mole Man Shang Chi Iron Monger Mach IV....nice idea, but the definitely needs work. Omega Red Doc Samson Who can guess this one.... Stilt-Man! Quote
Repeter Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 ReZourceman...these are off the hook. First, I have half a moleman on my desk right now, but I need some tiny green legs. What are those from? Second, you've hit on some my favorites: Cloak and Dagger, Iron Monger, Doc Sampson and Stilt-man?!? Too cool. Also, I am curious, what are people's methods of aquiring parts for their custom purist minifigs? Do you buy/bricklink select pieces and/or minifigs to rip apart? Do you buy sets, retail and use those minifigs? I ask because I need like four or five ethnic faces and I am having a hard time figuring it all out. Bricklink is still new frontier for me, but that does seem like a semi-not-bank-breaking way to go about getting the parts I need. Quote
Hobbestimus Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Cloak's hood and cape should be the dark blue (like on Bariss Offee...did I spell that right?), but otherwise I really like 'em all. Quote
Repeter Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Alrighty, I've got some new stuffs: Completely jacked from ReZourceman, cuz it was just too good of an idea for a great, backwater character: Some more Spidey bad guys, here we have Hammerhead and Kingpin (anyone know what the connector part I used on his cane is called...and does it come in black?): Not purist, because I wiped paint from his face...also if you put these chopped cuffs on him, it resembles his gauntlets. I have plans to get him back to purist with a yellow helmet and another Nova face; niether of which do I have, right now....anyway, the Shocker!!: Some new mutants...not the team, lol. White Queen: And Omega Red and Cable (I swear I'd mostly built my Red before you posted ReZourceman!!): Quote
ReZourceman Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 As far as I'm aware that Kingpin connector piece doesn't come in black...but I'm not certain. Love the customs. Great armor choice for Stilt-Man. Awesome awesome awesome, great to see someone else with the same passion for Z list characters! :p Quote
Tobias_Jay Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Can I suggest this torso for White Queen It is Willie Scott from 7199. Quote
ReZourceman Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Not sure about some of these..... Psylocke Copy of Black Knight. :p Speed Demon Wonder Man Quicksilver Magick Quote
