Legocity2713 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Quicksilver, Sabertooth, and Magneto figs. Quicksilver and Magneto albeit exist as official figs already are made to look more comic accurate. ~ Credit to nredbricked Quote
Zergos Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 I am still working on my metal men project, but to fill the void, here's my attempt at mr. mxyptlk. Quote
Sir Gareth Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Which hairpiece is better for Sandman? http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=92081#T=C http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=30608#T=C Quote
K-Nut Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 I'd say the second one, though it does a poor job of hiding any reversible expressions. Quote
JaseTJ Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 I haven't done too much in the way of custom superhero 'figs lately, but I did finally build a Firefly, which I've been intending to do ever since I got Zod... Also I'll throw in a picture of my jean Grey and Cyclops (plainclothes) since they're both newer. Jean's coat is made from a sort of skirt piece that came on a pair of clones in a random battle pack I picked up, which is also the main reason she's wearing that torso. I do have a Hawkeye face on Scott normally, but I like how well a Superman face works for when his glasses come off. Quote
N_Cat Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 JaseTJ, that Firefly is really impressive. The shape of those wings is really nice, and I'd never even thought to use Zod's helmet for Firefly. I can't tell what's going on with his torso with the lighting, but you made the silhouette so perfectly, I can't complain at all. Quote
JaseTJ Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 I meant to apologize--these were taken on my phone, as I don't currently have a camera, and my studio is overrun by a bigger project... Regardless, Firefly has a pretty standard Tie Pilot (I believe) torso, and I used Zod's legs to give him a bit of extra detail there as well. The wings are connected via one of these. Quote
Zergos Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 I'm halfway done my metal men, so as I am getting close to being done, why don't I post my version of William Magnus. So here he is, the creator of the metal men. Quote
N_Cat Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Hi everybody, I'm looking for a little advice. So I'm trying to make Hope van Dyne from the recent Ant-Man film. To me, the head and hair choices are obvious: Tauriel, because it's the same actress, and 62711 in Dark Brown, because it looks exactly like how she had her hair. To me, her normal outfit can be any generic female business outfit, and I own a few I can mess around with. However, the difficulty is with the suit she discovers in the credits scene. Photo for reference: I'm going to wait for CMF Series 14 Fly Monster wings because they'll be significantly cheaper than the fairy wings, and the helmet will just be a generic helmet with a trans-black visor, but the torso is frustrating me. I can't find anything that resembles that torso. The closest I can find on Bricklink is this terrible abomination: I really don't like this choice, and if you folks have any suggestions, I promise you, they are greatly appreciated. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 (edited) Hi everybody, I'm looking for a little advice. So I'm trying to make Hope van Dyne from the recent Ant-Man film...and the helmet will just be a generic helmet with a trans-black visor...If I might, might I suggest using a Zod helmet, like on the Firefly a few pictures up? I believe it'd work a good bit better.but the torso is frustrating me.I can't find anything that resembles that torso. The closest I can find on Bricklink is this terrible abomination: I really don't like this choice, and if you folks have any suggestions, I promise you, they are greatly appreciated. First off, don't knock Exo-force. It was a really great theme, with nice torsos. Second, what about these torsos? None match perfectly, but they all have the general air and design of the suit to them. (Apologies that they aren't hyperlinked, it's late and I'm tired. The original Thor torso. Pre Visla torso. Generic Death Watch torso. And this Vikings torso. Edited August 8, 2015 by Lind Whisperer Quote
K-Nut Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 I think the backwards Thor torso would work the best. The colors and design is very similar to that of Wasp. Quote

Douglas_Jon Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Has anyone tried using Sheldon Cooper's torso (from The Big Bang Theory set) to create a decent Jay Garrick figure? I've been trying to get my hands on the set so I can give it a go myself, but no luck so far. Quote
Zergos Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Next up is plunder. As far as I am aware, I'm the first to make a purist one or even custom in general. Quote
Skier1215 Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Any ideas for the Future Foundation costumes? I know Spider-man's is kind of impossible, but the Fant4stic? Can it be done? Quote
Rinzler Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Any ideas for the Future Foundation costumes? I know Spider-man's is kind of impossible, but the Fant4stic? Can it be done? Probably, I'd use the Clone/Stormtrooper armour for them Quote

JaseTJ Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 If you don't mind a touch of gold, there's that one green female Jedi's torso. It's feminine, obviously, but would probably match Stormtrooper/Clone torsos fairly well. Quote
