Repeter Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 (edited) Well, you've hit on another favorite of mine: Quicksilver. I also have him in the works, along with a Scarlett Witch I am copying from this thread, a few pages back. I am also psyched to finally have inspired you on a minifig! Good stuff, all around. ReZourceman Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Cheers Repeter! :) Here are some more. Mary Jane Foggy Nelson Captain Stacy Gwen Stacy Quote
Repeter Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Lol, Foggy. Nice little supporting cast, here. I got some new parts in the mail yesterday and the lady is out of the house tonight, so I'll see about putting some new figs together. Unrelated, I am needing to get some certain colors/parts, even multiples. Anyone know of a good minifig to use for these parts, preferable on the cheap so I can get a few: -Pink arms and legs; even torsos -Green torsos -Yellow legs...especially the hips or crotches (I dunno what we AFOLers call that piece) Quote
Spider-Man Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Alright who's up for a challenge? I want to see Alpha up next And a little easier one, Madam Web. I have ideas for both but being at school I don't have the resources to get them done! Quote
Darth Lurtz Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Bombur's fat beard could make for a good Volstagg. Quote

I have ideas for both but being at school I don't have the resources to get them done! For Madame Webb, one could probably just use Madame Hooch's head and hair on a (dark) red body with maybe white hips. It would look pretty close and would be quite fitting considering the similar names. Quote
autorazr Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 (edited) Hey Everybody, I'm new here but purist superhero legos have been my game for quite a while. My blog has hundreds of purist creations, most of which are comicbook heroes or villains. X-Men's Fantomex X-Men's Pixie http://jakemeierlego.tumblr.com/ Edited January 25, 2013 by autorazr Quote
Repeter Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Hey, autorazr, welcome aboard. I really enjoyed looking through your gallery. It gave me a lot of good inspiration...to shamelessly steal for my own creations!! Quote
Repeter Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 It's been nice and frigid outside, a perfect excuse to stay home and create some more minifigs for my growing collection! Again, thanks for the ideas everyone, many of these are pretty much grabbed from this thread. Also, almost all of these are waiting for a perfect part, here and there. What a slippery slope this purist thing is... Some mystic/magic dudes with red and blue color schemes, one of which is the first openly gay super hero (props to him), Doc Strange and Wiccan: Carter and Colson, agents of SHIELD: Oh, you obscure heros/villians, how I loveth thee! Shang-Chi and Iron Man's friend, the Ghost: So, I only have two of these yellow rubberbands, which I believe came in the first Mindstorms set. I keep needing it, so it has been stolen a few times (sorry, Wasp). I need more of them. Anyway, here is Doc Sampson and a WIP of Black Panther: I almost forgot to photo these two. Absorbing man is waiting on some different pants and Mysterio would like a green set of legs and a purple cape, but I think they both work well enough. Lol on AM's "ball and chain": I thought the coincidences between these two were funny. Not only do they both like slaying bad guys, but they also each have dress parts!! Ha. Zergos Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Is scarlet witch possible as a purist figure? I've always wanted to see someone do it, though idk if it's entirely possible or not. Loving the creations from everyone, I know I could never be good at something like this :D Quote

Yea that's kinda what I wanted to see, all the stuff besides the headdress even though thats a part of her character. Edited January 28, 2013 by Zergos Quote

oo7 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Edit - to provide my own contribution to this admirable ongoing body of work, I will link to a previous topic of mine: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=72533&hl= I thought the coincidences between these two were funny. Not only do they both like slaying bad guys, but they also each have dress parts!! Ha. Justice is served, straight from the Scourge and the Judge: Is that the Judge from "Judgment Day"? It sure looks more like him than any Marvel character I can compare. Orion, front and back: First thing I thought when I saw the Balin the Dwarf figure was High Father. I considered how one might contruct Orion but remorsefully concluded the potential of approaching maximum recognizability to be rather low. You have proved to the contrary that a very close likeness can be made with some newer, though simple, parts choices. Well done. Quote
Repeter Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Thank you! I am glad you like my Orion. He is one the minis I am fairly stoked with. Plus, I love the New Gods stuff. Their Silver Age stories and art are gaudy, sci-fi throwbacks and often feature some of my favorite comic artists. I have an alternate helmet for the Orion minifig now, but it is from Brickwarriors and I try to keep the non-purist stuff out of this thread. I have minifig WIP/plans for a few of the inhabitants of Apokolips and New Genesis. And...it is the Judge from Judgement Day, a bittersweet episode. It is a great story, watching our favorite bad guys sweat it out, but it is also the last episode of the Batman animated stories. Quote
LuxorV Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 I just recently got hold of the CMF series 9 Battle Mech, and I noticed the parts (torso legs and possibly head) look interesting for an Arctic Iron Man suit, it just needs a new helmet (maybe the upcoming War Machine one would work, though it is Dark Bley): (Photo from Fangy's review) Quote
RaincloudDustbin Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 How about just the head? Not great but may work? Quote
LuxorV Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 In fact, I'm going with its normal head for now, but I'm hoping to improve it someday. Quote
Repeter Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 @oo7: I looked at your customs...really nice stuff; I especially like Mantis and Captain Cold. Quote

oo7 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 @oo7: I looked at your customs...really nice stuff; I especially like Mantis and Captain Cold. Thanks! I will assume you mean Black Manta. Good luck with those other Fourth World characters, I image they'd be pretty tricky to do well. Quote
Repeter Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Thanks! I will assume you mean Black Manta. Good luck with those other Fourth World characters, I image they'd be pretty tricky to do well. Duh, don't know where I was getting 'Mantis' from... As to some of the Fourth World folk, I have good plans for a Granny Goodness, Darksied and Lightray, but there are some doozies that are giving me trouble. I really, really want Big Barda and Mr Miracle, but their masks and the way their colors lay out make it tricky. I also have some rough plans for Kalibak, Desaad and a Parademon. After getting all the pieces I'll need, I figure this little group will run me $100+, which is oddly worth it, to me. Quote
oo7 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Well, Mantis is an Apokolips baddie... Big Barda could be built with the CMF Cleopatra hair or a black nemes to attach the maedate to the hollow stud, while the torso should be somewhere between the dark blue exo-force and the dark blue castle maiden. I wonder whether this one on a yellow muscle torso would give a good enough impression of the red half for Mister Miracle. The head would need to the Spiderman balaclava though. I'm also guessing Kalibak - Rascus and Parademon - Twitch. It is an eclectic (expensive) assortment of parts. Quote
Repeter Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Nice, thanks for the suggestions, oo7 (if I can track down that Spidey balaclava for Mr Miracle, that'll be a big win). I'm new to the minifig customizing and having a blast, but my knowledge of what is out there is only so-so. I have done a lot of research over the last few weeks, however. I have also gotten my first few Bricklink orders, which was a whole adventure in itself! As to the expense of the more eclectic parts, I don't really mind. I come from a tabletop miniature background. The cost of that hobby makes this seem cheap and easy. Plus, I'm in no rush. Quote
