autorazr Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Not sure if this counts but it is made to scale with minifigs, uses minifig parts and is able to hold minifig weapons and tools. Wish I had actual purple pieces instead of this maroon, it photographs the same as reddish brown. Quote
Oky Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Haha, that's one ugly MODOK! By the way, I noticed that there are lots of useful minifig parts in the summer sets! For instance: Adi Galia's head + Saruman's hair = Storm! And I'm sure this head will be useful too. Any suggestions? Quote

I wish fleshie legos didnt look weird to me, so many useable parts coming out but I only use yellow minifigs. Quote
K-Nut Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 I think that head could be great for no particular version of Electro. Quote
Oky Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 the third head would be great for shazam Yeah, but only for that one second where he transforms. Holy Crap is that a transparant arm!?!?! That comment is getting a bit old, but yes, it is, and it's printed too. Not sure how useful it is though. I think that head could be great for no particular version of Electro. True, but you'd still need his silly headdress. Quote

For instance: Adi Galia's head + Saruman's hair = Storm! If you're willing to give Storm a beard that is. Going by good closeups of Gandalf the White, and seeing as he and Saruman share the same headgear mold, the hair and beard are one whole mold. -Omi Quote
Oky Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Hm, that's disappointing, seeing as they could have easily made it two separate pieces. I guess the closest hair piece would be Dori's then. Or you could just put a white 1x1 plate on her head and pretend it's her old mohawk. Quote

Well you have two other options. :P Edited February 12, 2013 by Omicron Quote
Oky Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 But those are gray. For Storm, I think the most important thing is that the hair should be white. The second hairpiece did come in white in one of the Agents sets, but it had green stripes in it. Quote
autorazr Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 @Oky, I could see using it for Iceman, or anybody that uses energy projection/lightning powers, I think its the most exciting new thing for a minifig, sorry if you're sooooo tired of hearing it, first I'm seeing it. Quote
Oky Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 No worries, we're all excited about it. I just don't think it's very useful since energy powers don't make your arm transparent, and it's only one arm. Maybe it could work for someone like the Invisible Woman? Quote
Tobias_Jay Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 I am not very observant, was there any white hood pieces revealed at NYTF? I really want to make a purist Ghost figure. If not, can anyone think of some alternatives? I have every part sorted except the hood. Quote

The only alternatives I can find are the PoP Keffiyeh (not exactly his style, but it could work), or the Ninjago Zane Wrap (though it has golden accents). Quote
Repeter Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 I did a Ghost, a few pages back, but ended up going pretty far off track, using a helmet and a visor. I'd love a white hood, as a couple of characters could use it. It would complete my Ghost and Taskmaster, off the top of my head. Also, watch out soon, folks. I just made 8 orders on Bricklink, totalling more than $100, of just minifig parts. Oh man, I am psyched to make up some sweet customs! Still, I am soooo not letting the lady know how much is coming out of my Paypal account. An AFOL has gotta do what he has gotta do. ;) Quote

Plenty of custom white hair. :P -Omi Quote
Repeter Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Well what can ya do? :P It's either go purist or go custom. Plenty of custom white hair. :P -Omi I wrestle with this. As a former tabletop gamer, I am completely able to think of...and execute fairly good custom work, over a number of mediums. I have built terrain, cut, pinned, puttied and painted tiny metal and plastic soldiers, etc. For some reason, however, I strive to stay purist, even at the expense of an exact look. That said, I have ordered from Brickwarriors and love the items. I have plans to explore more of the alternate options out there. No offense to LEGO, I just want some of those cool toys! Quote
Spider-Man Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 I think that head could be great for no particular version of Electro. Ultimate Electro goes through periods where he turns into all energy, so the arm and head would work very well for that I think Quote
Repeter Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 (edited) So here is a latest batch...a lot of WIP here, and looking for some advice. Thanks for looking! Some civvies...Steve Rogers, Peter Parker (Mutt with a camera, lol), Bruce Banner: Clark Kent and Guy Gardner: Forge and Deathlok (D'lock needs a new rubberband to be purist...found this one at work, lol and it doesn't really fit well): Silver...erm...Grey Surfer: Back to the Fourth World, Oberon and Granny Goodness (I also have a suit version of Oberon and what might be a better head on the way for Granny: And now, if you guys could give me your opinion of what head works best for my Mr Miracle: First try: Second try: Third try: Well, that's all, for now. I did just get two more B'link orders in, so hopefully I'll get a few more done, this weekend. Edited February 15, 2013 by Repeter Quote
Tobias_Jay Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 These look great! Can I ask, what head was used for Deathlock? Quote
Repeter Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 (edited) Thanks! I don't know what set it is from, but here is the part # from B'link: 3626bpb036 Edited February 15, 2013 by Repeter Quote
oo7 Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Very nice assortment of figures. I think however that Steve Rogers looks uncharacteristcally disheveled and Bruce Banner oddly effeminite (perhaps it's the neck line). Oberon looks good as does Granny Goodness (interesting that you chose the short cape though). I find the head choice for her is very fitting. What better option might you have? As for Mister Mircale, #1 is definitley the best of these three, but I'll withhold final judgement in lieu of the classic Space helmet + Luke head or similar. The collar on the cape is custom, or is it at that low angle so we can't see the length of the full size? If you can pull it up close behind the head, the balaclava choice might be a better choice in that regard as well. Quote
Brig. Brick Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 (...) Silver...erm...Grey Surfer: (...) great... gargoyle surfer maybe! (...) And now, if you guys could give me your opinion of what head works best for my Mr Miracle: First try: I'll keep that! Quote
ReZourceman Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Love Deathlok and Forge! And I think your first Mister Miracle is the best. Right, here is an update. A couple of really cool ones and some less cool ones. :p Katie Power Alex Power Julie Power / Lightspeed Jack Power Power Pack Wendigo. Again, with these Hulk enemies, its a shame he isn't a little bigger. Silver Samurai Namor More photos on Flickr. http://www.flickr.com/photos/rezourceman/ Quote
