Hulk_Smash Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 A few more from me Gwen Stacy (can't remember if I posted my previous version of her or not) slightly changed Karnak, Howard the Duck, Dash, modified Robin and slightly changed Cisco. Quote
xboxtravis7992 Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 I just ordered three bodies of Maria Hill from Bricks and Pieces. For 12 dollars I got three unique torsos with their legs, that come from a $500 set... Not a bad deal that way. If only they had Nick Fury's parts for sell right now to :P Of course the heads will be another purchase via Bricklink but my goal is for one Maria Hill figure and then the other two bodies will be used for custom figs. With that I am planning on a few "purist customs" to say. I think that at least one of the Maria torsos will be used for Agent May from Agents of SHIELD, and if I get lazy and don't order another torso I might use the other one for Skye/Quake (I probably should give Skye a different torso though to help make her character more unique).I have already built an Agent Coulson figure, which I might share photos of once I have pictures of it. I am also trying to figure out some other ideas. I might buy that one Doctor Who dimension pack of the Cyberman (?) and Bricklink some pieces to make an Iron Man Mark 2 figure, that torso just is begging to be an Iron Man Mark 2. I am also trying to figure out how to do a Squirrel Girl figure, but I've yet to find a purist torso that matches her current look in the comics. Any ideas there? Quote

Squirrel Girl's a toughie, which really breaks my heart because I love her to death. I had a concept for her in yellow with the Monster Fighters pilots jacket torso, but I don't where that went. Red nightwing Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Next up we have members of the Batfamily. I finally had to admit defeat and start using yellow people. I'm becoming more ok with the combination. From left to right: Oracle, Black Bat, Carrie Kelley Robin, Azrael, Red Robin, Batwing (needs black Batman glide wings) and Huntress IMG_2550 by Ross Keith, on Flickr Cool red robin I did a similar one with night wings new 52 head(inaccurate but looks good anyway) ,a Thor/Superman cape with two short Lloyd garmaddon capes on the inside and outside to replicate the two tone new 52 suit.I also used deep stone Kai's legs. From left to right: Oracle, Black Bat, Carrie Kelley Robin, Azrael, Red Robin, Batwing (needs black Batman glide wings) and Huntress *Snip* The 'sane' side of Harleen Quinzel's head would work for flesh Oracle. I wondered whether Pepper Pott's torso would work for her or maybe Lois Lane from Man of Steel for the shirt? Maybe the new '66 Catwoman mask side would work for the flesh Huntress head. Love that Carrie Kelly Robin. I've been meaning to make one of those recently. Quote

There are a few bomber jacket torsos that might work, but they're all zipped up instead of open like in the comics. http://www.bricklink...p?P=973p70&in=S http://www.bricklink...p?P=973pa5&in=S http://www.bricklink...=973pb0792&in=S There's an old torso from a Spider-Man set where the colors aren't quite right, but could work. http://www.bricklink...=973pb0287&in=S Then there's a torso from an Adventurers Orient Expedition set with an open, fur-lined jacket just like Squirrel Girl wears, but an undershirt that's probably too colorful. Also a scarf. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=973px186&in=S Edited May 31, 2016 by Dufresne Quote

mr_witchhunter Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 (edited) You may want to consider giving him red 'kids' legs, so he can look shorter than the average hero? I had the same idea beforehand. Probably I will give it a try, but I don't have short legs of a right color at the moment. The other thing about short legs is that Howard will look disproportionately with such a big head. I made my Howard similar to this variation. His legs look usual here. Edited June 1, 2016 by mr_witchhunter Quote
