Tobias_Jay Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 These look great. I really love the use of Captain Rex's visor as Silver Samurai's horns. Very unique. This topic is full of some clever people! Quote
Repeter Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 (edited) Very nice assortment of figures. I think however that Steve Rogers looks uncharacteristcally disheveled and Bruce Banner oddly effeminite (perhaps it's the neck line). Oberon looks good as does Granny Goodness (interesting that you chose the short cape though). I find the head choice for her is very fitting. What better option might you have? As for Mister Mircale, #1 is definitley the best of these three, but I'll withhold final judgement in lieu of the classic Space helmet + Luke head or similar. The collar on the cape is custom, or is it at that low angle so we can't see the length of the full size? If you can pull it up close behind the head, the balaclava choice might be a better choice in that regard as well. You really do give great critique, oo7. Thank you! It really helps. To answer your specific queries and suggestions: Rogers looks a little less 'worried', when I slightly raise his hair piece, showing more eyebrow. Banner's shirt is totally getting replaced with an Indy shirt I have coming from B'link. Speaking of, the other head for Granny is an Aunt May head, but the more I think about it, I'd rather go with the menacing grin I have on her now. I forgot to remove the cowl on Miracle's cape for the pic, as it is custom--I cut it down. I've since 'trained' it to stand up better. I also have that Luke head coming, so we'll see how that looks. @ReZourceman: I love them. Silver Samurai is so cool (those CMF knight legs are super versatile--I've used them on three minifigs already), and the Power Pack is a great addition too. I'll probably be stealing these into my own collection, at some point...big surprise. Speaking of stealing ideas: Madame Web (had to have one too, but I might remake the chair to look less like a mini-swampboat) and Blade (if anyone could suggest a better hairpiece...): Deathlok (now with hair...still need a new rubberband to get back to purist) and Ant-Man: Aaaand, Mr Hyde and Ultron .005 (Proto-Ultron? Lol, he is sort of clunky): That's all, for now! Edited February 16, 2013 by Repeter Quote
Spider-Robin Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 (edited) Some my minifigures (only DC): The Great White Shark. Black mask. Mr.Freeze. Scarecrow. Firefly. And Red Hood. That's all. I hope you like it! Edited February 17, 2013 by Spider-Robin Quote
Str0ngbad Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Hahaha! I love Wolverine's arm in that pic! Awesome figure too. It looks surprisingly fluid for having two torsos stacked together and that may be due to you choice to use short legs. Great work! Quote
ReZourceman Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Yeah, you have to use your imagination a little, like saying the legs are just her boots. Its definitely not perfect but I'm pretty chuffed with it! Quote
Repeter Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 (edited) Wat?!? Everytime I think I've seen them all, ReZourceman pulls out stuff like Silver Samurai and Spiral. Serious props to those minifigs. What armor is on Spiral? Jeez, I was all chuffed to post up some group photos, but man...that Spiral! Tough act to follow. Anyway, these include plenty of WIP, some new stuff and some, at this point, custom stuff. I always post them up purist, but these group photos show what else I've been doing... Let's start Marvel...X-people, Brotherhood, etc.: Avengers, assemble!!! Sorry...had to. Masters of Evil...and friends: Spiderman and his amazing friends: Sinister Fourteen: Adventures in space!! On to DC...In the Batcave: Justice League...and "friends": Gotham PD: Rogue's gallery: Greetings from Fourth World...hope you live! Edited February 18, 2013 by Repeter Quote
autorazr Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 @Repeter, awesome stuff all around. Finally got to taking some pics X-Women Deathlok (curious what you think Repeter, I took a pretty different approach. On my first try I used a similar dark gray head) Prof X with a regular wheelchair Black Tom Cassiday Heres some team-ups using some official super heros minifigs Iron Fist and Chang Shi Hulk vs. Abomination Cable and Deadpool and my Doc Strange with Wong. That was a lot to get out. Oh hey, Doc Strange is not purist, I made his cape. When I ordered a Zurg cape online, it was for the giant model of Zurg, so I cut my own capes out of it. Quote
Spider-Man Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Repeter, why is Ben Reilly in your "Sinister Fourteen"? Or is that not who that's suppose to be? Quote
RaincloudDustbin Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 ^^ That's an awesome brickbuilt gun! Quote
Repeter Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 @Spider-Robin: Welcome! That is a really cool Scarecrow you have there and I like the scenery you photo'd your minifigs on. Nice job. @autorazr: Very nice, all around. Like Dustbin mentioned, neat gun. I really like the hair you used on Cable (been struggling with that, myself), I dig the lighter color scheme on your Deathlok and I am making a Wong pronto. Thanks for sharing. @Spider-Man: Poor ole Reilly got stuck in the bad guy photo because in my set-up, he always goes inside the chamber in Doc Ock's set (an extra Spidey goes on the table for some DNA swapping fun). I forgot to photo him with the Spidey friends, so he went with Kingpin's crew. Then, I did a quick, head count and didn't even remember or realize he was in there. Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 (edited) I would suggest using the red Fangpyre snake tail, backwards for madam web. I ecspecily like that ClayFace, Reapetr. Nicely done everybody! Edited February 18, 2013 by Im a brickmaster. Quote

My pleasure, as always. It's not as much the eyebrows but the lines under the eyes and the shirt which make him look a little messy, and the claws on the keyring don't help things either. I definitely agree with you on the head choice. If you can't decide between the long gray hair and the mad scientist variety, perhaps the white "combed back" hair we'll be getting eventually with the next Dooku will be the best compromise. It also looks like you're using more custom-retailer parts here. The Shadow a "friend" of the Justice League? There's a cross-over I'd like to see. Quote

I got five B'link packages yesterday, so a bunch of my minifigs have gotten upgrades. Rogers got some plain, tan pants and a new face--it was the lines under the eyes that was bothering me. Also, Bad Barda got her new hair and she now towers over her man. The Shadow got put into the JL pic, just because his title was a DC comic...but a Batman-Shadow tie-in story could be quite fun! autorazr Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 @ Repeter, I was looking through your figs again. I had a note. A better Blade hair might be the flat top you are using on Colossus. Quote
Repeter Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Oooo, I have an extra of those from a B'link order I got in, the other day...great idea, thanks. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 I typically have to look up a lot of these characters. But most of them are pretty spot-on! I actually really like that Wendigo. I know nothing of the figure, but I like the grayish head and hair combo. I may have to copy that for a different unrelated figure idea. Quote
ReZourceman Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 I am working on something.......BIG.....but until then...here is a small update. autorazr Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 @ ReZourceman, that is one fine doop, now I have to buy that silly little thing. Also, and I mean no disrespect cause you guys are really blowing me away with some of this stuff, why are we putting hair on deathlock? he's bald. Quote
Repeter Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 (edited) Nah, Deathlok still has some hair..sort of macabre, lol: http://www.chernobog...athlok/1974.htm @ReZourceman: Blastaar, Ka-Zar and Annihilus are rocking...the others are too, but those three really make me want to hit up B'link. I ordered that gold nozzle last week, btw; great choice, imo. Can't wait to see what this 'big' thing is... I've got some new stuff to photo, I'll try and get to them today or tomorrow...busy weekend, here. Edited February 23, 2013 by Repeter Quote
