Numbuh1Nerd Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Maybe that dark red torso from the dino theme? I think that would work. That might work. It isn't perfect, but it could very well work. Quote
autorazr Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 new comics day, new purist customs day! The Black Knight Mohawk Storm 90's Polaris Dog Logan And two updates to customs previosuly posted Toyman, with his new Scribble Face Good Cop head, any good? The Runaways (added Wildwest Wyldstyle body to Nico and coonskin cap to Molly, does it work?) Quote
korpen4444 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Storm could use a cape(I think) and a different face. Toyman, however, is satisfyingly creepy! Nice S:TAS throwback. Quote
autorazr Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Thanks Korps, I always loved the S:TAS Toyman, glad he satisfies. Storm is tough to get right, I might say shes the hardest purist custom. The vision I had for her was the capeless, motorcycle rebel mohawk storm, I may try some other faces though. Quote
autorazr Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I forgot one more... Mortimer Toynbee and Paige Guthrie (former Janitor and X-Man, Toad and Husk) Quote

I like this version of Storm best too...is there a good, black leather jacket you could give her? Quote
autorazr Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 maybe Mutt Williams, I don't have one but I should get one. Quote
Repeter Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 ^this could work. Just rip those sleeves of and give her bare arms. Punk Storm FTW! Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Inspired by the cover of Wolverine: The End I present old Logan! Enjoy brickers Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 (edited) Toyman, with his new Scribble Face Good Cop head, any good? The Runaways (added Wildwest Wyldstyle body to Nico and coonskin cap to Molly, does it work?) Toyman looks really good, but might be better with short legs. He tends to be pretty short, especially when lined up against the bad guys in Justice League Unlimited. I've never read any of the Runaway books, but those figs are so cool looking I'm beginning to be convinced to find some! Edited February 14, 2014 by Numbuh1Nerd Quote
LibraryBoy Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 From one of my fav teams ever - 90's X-Factor: Multiple Man: I liked all of your customes, ianmrid, but as I'm gorging on Peter David's X-Factor right now (both the 90s and especially the 00s series), this one is my favorite. Jamie Madrox rules. Toyman looks really good, but might be better with short legs. He tends to be pretty short, especially when lined up against the bad guys in Justice League Unlimited. Agreed. Height aside, you've captured the DC Animated Universe Toyman in all his creepy, creepy glory. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Wonder Man: I've GOT to know where you got this torso! Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I wanna make Shining Knight and Stargirl figures, from Justice League Unlimited. Any (specifically fleshtone) ideas? I also found that Catwoman's mask, Nova's head, and an all-black body with white hands makes a pretty good Wildcat. Quote
autorazr Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 @Numbah1Nerd, maybe a little obvious but Captain America torso for stargirl, Loki's staff maybe, catwoman face (idk ya'll know I don't use flesh often) and some blonde hair. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 @Numbah1Nerd, maybe a little obvious but Captain America torso for stargirl, Loki's staff maybe, catwoman face (idk ya'll know I don't use flesh often) and some blonde hair. Good idea, I didn't really think of that! The best part is, I'm really not going to be missing out on any of my minifigs, since I planned on making the new Cap my official Cap and I have a few different Loki staffs. I used a Hermione head instead, though, because it looked a little better. Y'know, we need more girls with masks. Actually, we need more superhero girls in general. We've got Wonder Woman, Black Widow, Batgirl, and soon to be Storm and that's it. I'm really trying to expand my Justice League to B list members from Unlimited. So far (and not all of these are from Unlimited, since I made them before my decision to do this) I've got Question, Wildcat, Sandman, Stargirl, Negative Man, and the Creeper. I'm going to get the parts I need to make Vigilante soon (possibly tonight) but I'd like to get some parts for other folks, too. Maybe Metamorpho? Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Update: apparently I won't be doing any of that, because BrickLink only works through PayPal, PayPal requires a bank account, and my mother refuses to give me my bank account number because I "have no control". Ugh. So, um, any other suggestions as to where I could find these three pieces and pay with just a Visa card? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=88284 (in pearl dark gray) http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=973pb443c01 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=30133 (in red) Quote

LuxorV Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Please, people keep the personal conversation and/or BL advices to the PM system. It's pretty annoying to have to go through it in this topic. Thank you. Quote

Jamie Madrox rules. Thanks, Peter David's X-Factor and Jamie Madrox do indeed rule! I have the full 90's team nearly (tho not all purist) aside from Strong Guy - trying to perfect a brick built version! I've GOT to know where you got this torso! It's the reverse of this torso: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=973pb1127c01 It's from the Darth Maul polybag - and unfortunately it's a bit pricey to pick up. However, if you are going to use it for Wonderman, the new Nightwing torso is better. I'm upgrade my Wonderman to use that as soon as I get a spare. Quote

It's pretty annoying to have to go through it in this topic. Thank you. Sorry, this was the best place I could think to ask. It's from the Darth Maul polybag - and unfortunately it's a bit pricey to pick up. However, if you are going to use it for Wonderman, the new Nightwing torso is better. I'm upgrade my Wonderman to use that as soon as I get a spare. Actually, that minifig reminded me a lot of Vibe, so I was thinking about modifying it to become such. Although, after doing some more thorough research, I think I'll have to find something else torso-wise for him. It does still look like it could be perfect for some character, DC or Marvel, that I haven't noticed yet. Quote
TheBatstan Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Anyone have any tips for a purist Red Hood? Quote
