MattZitron Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 As I said on Flickr, LOVE Trickster. Firefly is also fantastic. You've got a good eye for pieces. Quote
autorazr Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I especially liked Toyman, Amazo and Trickster Numbah1Nerd, those are pretty darn good. I dont mind that torso for Amazo, what else would you use? Would you use the Prince of Persia bare torso and make him fleshy? Quote

I dont mind that torso for Amazo, what else would you use? Would you use the Prince of Persia bare torso and make him fleshy? No, I wanted to use the CMF Surfer torso, the yellow bare-chested one. I made him based on his appearance in Batman: Under the Red Hood, so I definitely wanna keep him yellow. As I said on Flickr, LOVE Trickster. Firefly is also fantastic. You've got a good eye for pieces. Thanks a bunch! I was really bothered by the lack of Flash villains, so I felt the need to make him one to the best of my ability. I'd prefer to do Captain Cold or Mirror Master or Captain Boomerang, but when life hands you a spare purple Riddler mask, you make Trickster-ade. Quote
MattZitron Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 (edited) Some did a fantastic Weather Wizard with a Nova head (which I have an abundance of as I made a whole Nova Corps, photos to come) so I must make one for me. Next on my docket is WonderMan, an Alternate Question, but I'm also going to try Movie inspired Superman Blue. He may come out horrible, I can but try. I'm also attempting two brick build maxi figure Doomsdays. One with the green suit, one with the horns. Edited March 17, 2014 by MattZitron Quote

Numbuh1Nerd Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Any ideas for a good Mr. Miracle torso? I'm using a plain red one right now, but I'd like to change that. I'd also like to find another pair of green hands, because for some reason only like, 12 minifigures come with green hands. Quote
MattZitron Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Mr Miracle Reference for people (I actually own the original art for this): For Mr Miracle you could go for: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=973pb1085c01 or http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=973pacc01 or (my preference) http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=973pb999 To get Green hands and have useful parts I'd say buy some Toy Story Soldiers. I have TONS as I bought a load to make WW2 soldiers (including Dum Dum Dugan.) Quote
autorazr Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 (edited) I almost used this torso for Mr. Miracle, backed out though, I thought it (like the one I used on Barda) resembled some Jack Kirby like art with all the round bits, needs more squiggly lines. Hopefully later I will have new pics of some new customs. Edited March 18, 2014 by autorazr Quote
autorazr Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 (edited) Purist Captain America (resembles Winter Soldier movie costume or cap's SHIELD director uniform) A custom Ironman, idk, Space Ironman or something, Mk. 2334 Realized my Crossbones was wrong, needed a white skull Abigail Brand of S.W.O.R.D. in spacesuit And now some DC comics Gorilla Grodd Ultra Humanite Solomon Grundy Updated Sandman Renee Montoya and The Question so I'm not actually happy with purple The Question, idk what im gonna do. LibraryBoy Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 (edited) A few recent attempts: Earth-2 Robin (Ambassador Richard Grayson): Bucky (weapon's not purist, but the rest of the figure is): Winter Soldier (ditto): And not superheroes, per se, but two versions of the "War Doctor" from "The Day of the Doctor"... still deciding which head I prefer (leaning toward Ki-Adi-Mundi, bug-eyed though it may be): Edited March 18, 2014 by LibraryBoy Quote
autorazr Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 rules are bending, ahhhhh, LuxorV, why do you only yell at us when we have friendly conversation, not when there be non-purist non-superhero acts being committed? Quote
MattZitron Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 @LibraryBoy - First head for War Doctor Where's the Torso from? Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 @LibraryBoy - First head for War Doctor Where's the Torso from? It's from the Mandarin variant in the Iron Man 3/Flamethrower Golf Cart set. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Any ideas for what to use this torso for? Preferably DC, but I'll really take anything. I like the look of it and would like to put it to good use. Plus I've got a decent Metamorpho on the way as soon as I fill up another row. 2 and a half more figs and I'll be there (I still need Vibe's jacket). Also, cutting up stickers is still purist, right? If so, does anyone know of any particularly white decals I can get to make Deadman's V-neck and logo? Quote

Eerie resemblance to John Hurt. Bricklink. Quote
autorazr Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 (edited) aaaand the purist superheroes thread has been taken over by Dr. Who, dammit. @Numbah1Nerd, I have been wondering if I should get that torso, might be a good one for Red Hood. It kind of resembles the armor he was wearing under his coat in Batman: Under The Red Hood Edited March 19, 2014 by autorazr Quote
LibraryBoy Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 (edited) aaaand the purist superheroes thread has been taken over by Dr. Who, dammit. Two pictures (submitted with a few that are superheroes), a question, and an alternate head suggestion are hardly taking over (and you'll notice that I took out a few that had more non-purist parts than I had remembered). I suspect society will recover. If you're looking for a head for the War Doctor, then Theoden from LotR is the way to go. Eerie resemblance to John Hurt. Bricklink. Oh, that IS good... even better than the actual John Hurt head from the Harry Potter line! Thanks, KingPixels. It's from the Mandarin variant in the Iron Man 3/Flamethrower Golf Cart set. Yup! Just with different arms. Edited March 19, 2014 by LibraryBoy Quote

It kind of resembles the armor he was wearing under his coat in Batman: Under The Red Hood That could work. I can't find the other arm to my Indy jacket, so maybe that'll be a decent replacement. YES! It looks so much better with the Tim Drake Robin head and black ruffled hair as opposed to a Deadpool head in place of the Red Hood helmet. Quote

Now the mod will jump in, cause I'm too hotheaded to let you be, whatever. Peace brother, America and whatnot lets just let that be that and get along from now on. thewatchman Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Auto you do realise that your whining doesn't add to the topic here either right? Especially considering you complained and gave a quite justifiable answer. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Hey, Auto, just be glad it's not the Bronies :P But we should probably move on from this before it turns violent. Quote
LuxorV Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Please people, stay on topic: Purist Superhero Figures. Thank you. Quote
