Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted November 13, 2006 Eurobricks Emperor Posted November 13, 2006 A beautiful ship under construction with some nice details. I hope the author will finish it and put updated pictures in this BS folder. He didn't provide any contact info so we'll just have 1 way communication for now. You can see the gallery here. Quote
El Bucanero Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Looks nice, I'm planning to do something like that in the future, but wider, I'll only need lots of black invert slopes and long black slopes, I hope there are also long slopes in yellow. Quote
Aaron Morse Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Very nice looking!, I'm using a similar technique on my ships for the tumbelhome. One minor note though the Victory was a three decker, this is only a two decker which means its as small as a 64 gunner to as big as a 80 gunner. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 13, 2006 Governor Posted November 13, 2006 For a moment I had a Freudian slip and was about to ask what a "Victory style" ship was and then it clicked. So to prevent other potential Freudian slips here's a picture of the Victory. Quote
Norro Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Very impressive looking. A truly great MOC in the works there... God Bless, Nathan Quote
oo7 Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 I saw this on Brickshelf yesterday and I was wondering how long it would take to find it's way here. It has some nice interior details like the stove, bookcase and gun rack and the colors scheme is good. He's a very new BS member so I hope he will uploading more sections of ship sometime. Quote

It is my dream to build a ship like in your picture one day Mr. Phes. This must be a "Ship of the Line". Is this color combination (yellow and black) typical for English ships during the Napoleonic erea? Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 13, 2006 Governor Posted November 13, 2006 I wouldn't have a clue actually. I'll have to do some research into it at a later date. So do we know who is building this ship? Quote

I'll have to do some research into it at a later date.So do we know who is building this ship? I remember that the English ship from Master and Commander was also yellow and black. Same for all the English ships in the Hornblower series. The french ships however are mostly red and black. I really wonder why this was like that and what is the meaning and origin of these colors. I have no clue who the creator of this ship is. The only info is his user name "serdan73". Sound a bit Turkish to me. I always try to send the BL builders an email to join the discussion but this won't be possible for this ship. Quote

I think we may be able to contact the builder. *pirate* I did a search on BL, but no serdan73, only this serdan from Roma, Italy. Anyway, I did a search for serdan73 on Google and guess what I found? http://www.uraniamania.com/forum.php?actio...e;user=serdan73 An Italian site with a serdan73 from Roma! Complete with e-mail address and pic of the person. X-D X-D X-D Don't forget, you can also contact him though the BrickLink contact on his ID card above. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 14, 2006 Governor Posted November 14, 2006 You're quite the detective Governor Broadside, so bravo! You may contact him if you wish as its always good to have the master builder here providing us with information about the MOC we wouldn't receive otherwise. Quote

Good morning sirs, excuse me for my english... I'm still learning! Let me introduce myself, I'm an Italian boy (near Rome), I like both ships and classic-Science fiction... and LEGO naturally. I'm trying to merge these three hobbies in just one activity... hope I'll be able to go ahead with my Victory-style ship. I used the Nelson's ship name just for fun, I didn't try to assimilate that beautiful ship in my LEGO imitation... I usually buy LEGO specific parts on the www.BRICKLINK.com web site. But it's much expansive then my budget. :-( So I often use ML-Cad or 3D Studio MAX for my LEGO big-scale ideas. Thank you all for your nice comments. I'll keep you informed about my next project (one WWII american submarine GATO-Class) Note: I'm a 3D modeller and computer programmer. I'll send you my web site address soon (it's under construction) SerDan73 = Danilo Serpe (1973 my born date) Quote

So it is your goal to finish the ship completely (I certainly hope so)? It would be great to see some progress pictures in the future! Thanks for sending me the ML-Cad designs. I have to admit that I never used ML-Cad but I have been planning to install it for some time now. This looks like a good opportunity, so I will give it a try this evening. Quote
Norro Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Welcome! That's a great MOC you have there! God Bless, Nathan Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 14, 2006 Governor Posted November 14, 2006 YOU FIND ME!Good morning sirs, Yes, we have found you! We like to have the MOC creators joining us to discuss to their MOCs because the creator will usually provide some insight into the MOC that we would be unaware of otherwise. So its great that you could join us. Do you have any updates on your Victory style ship? And what do you model in 3D? (I suppose the answer to that will make itself present when we see the website) Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted November 21, 2006 Author Eurobricks Emperor Posted November 21, 2006 Danilo has published on his brickshelf-folder the instructions of his ship. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 22, 2006 Governor Posted November 22, 2006 That was very nice of him! So whose going to take up these instructions and build his ship? Quote
ZCerberus Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 Very nice. I like the sleek look of this ship, and it is evident that the backside is going to be accessible which is excellent! I think you are well on your way! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 22, 2006 Governor Posted November 22, 2006 Instructions like these would be good for MOCers such as I who have never built a ship as it would lend some useful building tips, or at least some inspiration. But I don't think I'll be building a ship any time soon. Quote

Aaron Morse Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Hi there SerDan73! Your galley stove looks way better than the two designs I had...so with your permission... I'm gonna 'pirate' that stove verbatium for my frigate. BTW there was a nifty looking minfig piano around here somewhere, does anyone know where that might be and who made it? That would look marvelous in the captain's cabin! Quote
