Myrddyn Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 (edited) Oh. I see, I completely missed that post! Sorry! Erik attacks sandwight b from the front row. Endgame Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 A sandowrm. Hardly suprsing. A Giant Enemy craB, on the other hand... I'll chug a potion from the back row. Battle Order: Flamerobe Sorrow Nagure Mizuki Eric Flamerobe and Nagure, I suggest you attack Sandy. Mizuki and Eric, focus on ONE SANDWEIGHT to kill it. If a free hit occurs for the other sandweight, Flamerobe's shield will block most of the dmage and hurt him barely. From there, we can focus our main efforts on Sandy. Quote
Tachyon Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Instead of attacking Sandy, Mizuki follows her leader's order and swings her katana at sandwight B from the front row Quote
Costy Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Following Sorrow's orders, I attack Sandy from the front row. Quote
Myrddyn Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 (edited) Erik calls back: "But the sandwights won't drop anything, and they disappear after sandy is defeated. This means there is no reason to kill them, so I think we should concentrate on Sandy. I was only attacking one to stop it getting free hits, and I feel that it would be a better idea for Drake to target a sandwight, and everyone else to attack Sandy. That way, only 1 sandwight will get a free hit (on Drake, who will barely feel it), and we will have all four of our heaviest hitters (because us barbarians have a stronger critical hit, and rouges who do the same damage as barbarians) targeting the main enemy (Sandy). But I will obey the party leader if he doesn't agree, and I will still target Sandwight B." Edited May 1, 2012 by Myrddyn Quote

From, there the damgae down by the other heroes targeting sandy should whittle it down, Drake will only take 1 damage from the free hits, so after this turn, we all bombard Sandy. if done correctly, we might just take 1 damage as a group." Rumble Strike Posted May 1, 2012 Author Posted May 1, 2012 (edited) Round One of the Sandworm Guardian Battle Flamerobe vs Sandy - Special Damage >Sorrow takes potion Nagure vs Sandy - Special Damage Mizuki vs Sandwight B - Damage Erik vs Sandwight B - Miss Sandwight A - free hit on Flamerobe Despite Sorrow's confidence inhis battle order and tactics, the first round of the battle is a disaster for the heroes. Spending too much time writing in the sand before attacking costs Drake, who falls into a patch of quicksand, taking damage (-2) and finding he cannot move for the next round. Sorrow takes a potion, the green liquid seeming to shine through his exposed guts. Nagure wades in with his big club, fresh from two good hits on the previous Guardian, but triggers Sandy's defensive wall of sand, meaning any damage the party do next round will be halved. Mizuki and Erik try to take out one of the sinister, spindly-looking sandwights, but the Rogue is slashed by one (-3) which puts off Erik's strike, who swings and misses. Sandwight A smacks Flamerobe with a giant sandy fist, his shield absorbs most of the damage though (-1). Enemies Sandy **Incoming damage halved in round two** Level 4 Rock Monster Health 40/40 Special 1: Quicksand - Sandy will create a patch of quicksand, binding the attacker for one turn and doing 2 damage. Endgame Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 That's what you get for trying some intricate strategy. You're so DULL sometimes. How were YOU the dominant personality? That voice was if it was coming from... my head? Was that the Maginastra? And you prove me right yet again, Sorrow. Perhaps I should've taken the wheel instead of you after your little zap treatment. No, I am not the Maginastra. I have no clue why you'd even concieve that. Well, since you can obviously read my mind, it seems like I have no way to cut off this conversation. Read YOUR mind? Why would I ever do something so treachorous? I'm wounded, truly I am. Is it a sin to bowse my own thoughts? Blocking out the voice, I yell to my party "Anyone got any bright strategies? Mne just kill people." OOC: This roleplay is unrelated to the quest... but unlike the heart attack, this has been long planned. Quote

Rumble Strike Posted May 2, 2012 Author Posted May 2, 2012 Round Two of the Sandworm Guardian Battle Sorrow Vs Sandwight A - Miss Mizuki Vs Sandwight B - Damage Nagure Vs Sandy - Extra Critical Hit Flamerobe - Bound (No action) Erik Vs Sandwight B - Extra Critical Hit The heroes are quite tentative this round as they know all damage they do on Sandy will be halved. Sorrow slashes at Sandwight A with his scythe, but once again misses. Perhaps the hot sun and the exposed skull are not mixing well. Mizuki steals in with an attempt on Sandwight B, but just like the previous round, the bizarre creature manages to tear at her with its hardened claws (-3). This leaves the Rogue perilously close to being knocked out. Nagure, clearly relishing his status as the biggest heavy hitter on the team, smashes Sandy with his club with an almighty hit, sadly for him Sandy's defensive barrier absorbs half of the blow (-6), but then disappears. Flamerobe manages to extract himself from the quicksand by using his shield as a floatation device. He is good to go next round. Rumble Strike Posted May 3, 2012 Author Posted May 3, 2012 (edited) QM Note - it's been over 24 hours, so I've had to pick Sorrow's action and battle order. I've made him attack Sandy too, and promoted Flamerobe back up to first in the order so he can take any free hits. Round Three of the Sandworm Guardian Battle Flamerobe vs Sandy - Damage Nagure vs Sandy - Shield (Battle Frenzy) Erik vs Sandy - Damage Sorrow vs Sandy - Hit >Mizuki takes potion Sandwight A - free hit on Flamerobe The battle starts to take its toll on the heroes, with a mixed round. Flamerobe, leading the attack once again, fails to hit the giant sandworm and gets hit by a hail of sand for his trouble , although he does get his shield up in time to deflect some (-2). Nagure does what he does best, and goes into a Battle Frenzy, hitting all 3 enemies (-5 each). This finishes Sandwight B, which disappears in a puff of sand back into the desert. Erik doesn't have the same luck, and gets hit in the face by a sandy fist, dazing the sturdy Barbarian (-4). Sorrow's run of bad luck with his scythe ends, and he manages to drag his blade along the sandworm, causing Sandy to roar in pain (-5). Mizuki stays at the back and chugs down a potion, restoring her to full health. Sandwight A has a free run at Flamerobe, but the Knight's shield protects him against the brunt of it (-1).
