Ah, the figures. I thought I had a nearly complete collection, but that was not the case. I thought the Technic figures were only the ones in the packs released in the 90's, but now I've scoured Bricklink to find the rest. My wallet is gonna suffer greatly for this....

I don't care for the holes in their legs though. These as far as I know serve no purpose.

Actually, when I was a kid (before the different action figure type sets like Throwbots and Bionicle) I used to use the holes to make the technic guys power armor type suits. Using the existing articulation points on the figure was the best way I ever found to build leg joints without using a ton of space.

I have almost the complete collection, I need the tech011 and when it's completed I want to make a technic directory and upload new photos to BL and Brickset

Heh.. ironic that that's the ONLY techfig that I've ever owned (I got it with the Polar Chopper, when I was about 11yrs old)

I still have it, but it's in a very broken/loved/played with state

I think my dad repaired the arm joint, at one time.. drilling a tiny hole, and inserting a small piece of wire, to strengthen it, alongside the loctite glue

Maybe if TLG releases new Lego Technic Figures, they will come with "Power Suits" like the one Sparkytron (Dylan Mievis) made, as shown on Flickr and MOCpages:

I think they are fantastic though. I tend to put them in ...interesting... positions on display in my office just for the humor.

After seeing how this thread has developed I wanted to perhaps elaborate on my definition of the word "interesting" For a while I had the A-Model 8288 on display in my office. So what I did was recreate the classic Empire state building picture with the guys on the Iron Girders. The difference with my recreation is that because many of the figures have mustaches I decided to interpret them as...in love with each-other rather than just eating lunch(no pun intended). It typically was a riot for anyone who walked in and took the time to see what they were really doing. Then again depending on who I had coming in there were times that I cleaned up their poses.

They aren't even that expencive, so i'm gonna get more, and more, and more and want an army of technic men (yes stan, and women (kudo's for the one that get's that reference ))

I have never had a Technic figure so I do not know if I want them back. Are they cool?

If my work compromisses let me in a few days I will make more photos, documentation, and a kind of "technic fig. wiki" or "technicofigopedia" as a part of my future blog update.

Also I will work on update and "debug" the photos and entries in the Bricklink catalog, if the admins of the site let me.

I don't have any Technic figures, so I don't know for sure if I really like them. The reasons I can think of for being discontinued are; to make the Technic theme appear more "mature", because they're to expensive, or because they want to use a variety of scales in Technic sets. I'm not such a fan of large preassembled pieces, because of being expensive, specialized, and without the fun of building it. If they bring back Tehnic Figures, than I think that they should be in multiple pieces, probably about 15. I think that it might be fun to see a dummy swinging on the steering wheel, and they could add new functions such as seat belts. I don't think that all Technic sets should include them, especially Mini's.

Interesting topic...I have but 1 figure, guess they just stopped making them, kind of a dumb move I thought, last set that I had 1 for was the 8248 Forklift...

I have about fourteen of the technic guys. I only ever got them in the three packs but missed out on the later models. I wish they would bring them back as I tend to make models (vehicles) based around them.

Lego need bring back some more playability in technic line and TF are great for this.I bought some very cheap(Quality like new) and this is my best deal I ever done in lego technic.

Can't wait for my 3 new figures to arrive. Interesting to have it pair with technic sets. I believe the main reason to cease production was due to different scale of technic sets.. Figures will not sell well if the seats are not up to scale right?

Do the helmets go on over the hair, or does one take the hair off ala minifig?

They go over the hair. Hairpiece is not supposed to be removable (not glued but there's a little plastic latch).

Oh ooh. I don't own any (yet), but as I have lots of the old instruction books that show them, I 've been thinking for a while that I should buy one. (Or two or more).

Just looked at them on Bricklink, and don't like the blue ones, so looked at other colours. Seems like I like the most expensive ones - oops.
