Oh wow is that ever incredible... It's amazing to think that I actually made brief contact with a very tiny portion of this beautiful creation once...

Great work Anio... This is something really special...

Oh...my... :oh::wub_drool: Thats amazing. What's better is that it's coming from the UCS master himself. Simple build phooey! The ship is accurate and that's the best part, clearly. You've just made a lot of AFOLs dreams come true.

Thank you for your kind words. :sweet:

Could you let us know how easily the bricks stick and separate after chroming? Do they still have the nice cohesion and are the easy enough to separate?

The parts are a little harder to clip and un-clip, since there is chrome on them.

Besides, the chrome does not leave. It is really chromed, not painted. The quality is equal to the official lego chromed parts.

As much as I dislike Cuusoo, I think this would be an awesome entry. I suppose it'd be way to expensive for TLG to actually make.

I'm not a big fan of the Cuusoo either.

I doubt Lego can produce such a ship. There is a lot of chromed parts on this ship. :/

So shiny. Did the 200 euros include chroming?

Yes, fortunately !

Do you imagine 200€ and you still have to pay for chrome ?

It's on the frontpage!

Thanks for that ! :)

I too would like to know how the bricks work after the chroming process!

Let's say they work fine. Not perfectly, but fine.

Does it attract fingerprints or get blurry from contact with the parts?

Yes, it does. Just like other regular Lego parts.

The thing is that fingerprints are much more visible on chrome. :sceptic:

Well, it's not the first time someone's done this, but that doesn't make this any less impressive. Sometimes the simplest techniques are the best. Nice work. :classic:

Thank you for blogging.

I do really appreciate what you wrote on the blog.

"Like all of Anio’s MOCs, the building style of this one looks like it could be an official set."

Despite I doubt TLG will ever produce such a ship, it is indeed the approach I try to have on each of my MOC.

And I'm glad you mentionned it. This is something very important to me.

I actually made brief contact with a very tiny portion of this beautiful creation once...

Thank you again. ;)

Aw damn, from the frontpage I thought this was a real set. But still... That is just plain awesome. This is definitely something that TLG needs to make into a set. I haven't bought SW Lego in a long time, but I would get this in a heartbeat, even if the chrome bricks cost a fortune.

Really nice job on the shape, too. There's no way to recreate the smooth contours of the film version, but I think you did really well with what you had. And the trans-light blue rings for the engines are a detail not to be missed.

Nice one Anio! Your approach to this project has been perfectly executed. In particular I feel the 'Light Bley' underneath gives it Anio's famous 'air of minimalist authenticity' in that just maybe, if we were all lucky, TLG could be ambitious enough to find the means of production to release this beauty as an official and limited UCS. The addition of the scale N1, that splash of yellow, provide our eyes with a restful respite from so much glorious chrome...

A Naboo Royal Cruiser carrying its escort fighters must follow!

Wow, that is one beautiful shiny ship! I don't really mind the simple build in this case, the chrome helps a lot with the sleek impression the ship is supposed to give.

I bet this MOC would be great eyecatcher in any collection.

You nailed it! Absolutely stunning!

The most impressive thing is that the shape is just perfect and made with few parts count. It follows TLG's techniques and design very well and could be a VERY VERY good official model.

Very nicely done. It just grabs the eye. How well does the chrome stand up to handling or building? (and now you have me wondering how well Alclad II sticks to Lego's. This is a bad mental path to go down. I came back to Lego to avoid painting things dagnabit! )

If you say so... :sweet:

Are you planning on other projects in shiny?

At the moment, no.

How well does the chrome stand up to handling or building?

The chrome is strong. No problem about that.

I agree that the model is excellent, but I frown upon the chromed pieces. (and no, I wouldn't consider myself a purist)

What would be a Naboo Royal Starship without chrome ? :sceptic:

This is definitely something that TLG needs to make into a set.

I listend to you and put the model on the Cuusoo.

If you want that model in your collection, you can support here : http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/15446#

Thant's right! Just like 10026. Grey underneath and shiny on top. Anio's followed the same philosophy as if it were a real set i.e. optimize and find balance in all ways...
