I am astounded nobody else thought about it so far, but try this:

Put hobbit hair on ANY other minifig, from ANY theme. Or other lotr characters, why not. It will forever be impossible to take Aragorn or Gandalf seriously after you've seen them wearing Sam's hair. Eomer with Frodo's hair looks like that Prince villain from the Princess Bride. Hobbit hair on Orcs = WTF.

No need to post pictures - just try it.

If you're like me, you'll be rolling on the floor laughing like a crazy scientist.

:roflmao::laugh_hard: :laugh_hard: :head_back::iamded_lol:

Darth Vader with Frodo's hair looks particularly menacing.

Ehh, if the pre-order bonus does turn out to be Gandalf the White I hope it's just a slightly alternate version of one we get in an actual set. Or the exact same version of one we get in a set.

As for Lego having the LotR/Hobbit license for 4 years, I can believe that. I see this franchise being much like Star Wars with new waves every year for some time to come. There are just soo many iconic scenes to draw from. I mean I can think of like 20 different sets they could do for LotR alone off the top of my head, and probably another 10 or so for the Hobbit. And that's not even delving into the scenes that get little footage time.

For all of you who're desperate for the Uruk-Hai polybag: here, looks like the Sun polybag promotion's gonna include it!

Man, I wish we got that promo here in Canada. :hmpf_bad:

Ah that's awesome.

Do you know if the videogame LEGO Lord of the Rings will be published also for PC and be available with services like Steam?

LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes and many other LEGO games were also available on Steam so it's likely.

About the Uruk-hai polybag being included in the next Sun promotion in England - that's great, though I would have liked to be able to get Frodo's Cooking Corner too.

Dont worry I will be here ready to send them out to anyone who wants them  . I did it last time so i now have plenty of good feedback in the BSTF section.

I have read this entire thread over time. Does anyone have a summary on availability of the poly bags so far. I have become confused.

Well I was going to preorder anyways, but Gandalf sounds good! When does it start LEGO?!

Aw, man. Not having a current gaming console sucks. Can't preorder something for an awesome fig without having something to play it on.

Buy a PS3, you can say it's for playing Blueray.

Can't you play it on your PC, or have I come here all the way to become disappointed to hear about how it won't be available for PC?

(Quite sure it will though...)

Anyways, good to hear about the pre-order figure. Just a bit strange that Gandalf the White might not be in a future set then, however. I would've expected them to save him for a Minas Tirith set.

I think someone in the US/Canada found the Frodo one in TRU. The Uruk Hai will be part of a UK newspaper promotion in the future.

Forgive me for the bad quality, I only have a Quickcam at the moment.

The two yellowheads are from set 8404-Public transport. The tram driver looks like he's wearing a Wig. Eomer looks like some snotty prince with a perm, like the villain in Princess Bride.

Only the female doesn't look completely ridiculous with Hobbit hair

I'm working on something in LDD right now and I was being plagued with the problem of building round windows. I had a look at the Bag End set and saw these ones (the small ones on either side of the door):

LEGOHobbitHole-660x415.jpg

Are they an official piece yet, or are they new and exclusive to Bag End? If they already exist, could someone tell me their part number? If not...any ideas for round windows about that size?

:classic: Thanks!

They're just the regular windows.

^ No, I think they meant the windowframes. In which case, yes, this is a new part. :sweet:

Also, I'm worried that the Gandalf minifig with the game won't be special, if I can trust the source. This is a shame because I'd love to see something like a chrome Sauron, old Bilbo or something else unlikely to appear in a regular set. :sceptic:

Yeah, I did mean the frame. Rats, I was really counting on that being an already existing piece! Now I need some other sort of idea for the window.

Personally, I love the Hobbit hair. Previously, there was no curly hair besides the disco guy and clown hair. I think it's realistic for that hairstyle.

Oh yeah, I love it too, don't get me wrong. I'm just poking at Lego when the stuff they do is so silly that it becomes adorable and hilarious at the same time.

I'm planning to use the Meriadoc hairpiece for my sigfig. It won't be completely accurate for a little while, since I just got a new haircut, but it tends to grow rapidly back into hobbit hair.
