Ceroknight Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Elrond Exclusive minifig : http://www.lordofthebrick.com/2012/08/elrond-avec-le-jeu-video-lego-lord-of-the-rings-special-edition/ New weapon! I thought it was Gandalf the White though..
willybob Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 New weapon! I thought it was Gandalf the White though.. Yep Gandalf Thw White was announced as exclusive, but I still hope the will produce some visual dictionary for LOTR/The Hobbit and it will maybe be in there....
Lynx Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Thanks for the link! I like Elrond's look. Only hoping for a calm alternative facial expression.
XimenaPaulina Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Simply love those intricate and highly-detailed torso and leg prints. And this is the first dark-toned elf hair right? I like Elrond's look. Only hoping for a calm alternative facial expression. That facial expression fits well the Last Alliance Elrond. Though I wouldn't be surprised if he has the alternative calm expression like the double-faced head of the ComicCon Bilbo Baggins exclusive fig. Still hoping for a Rivendell Elrond in a future set! (Council of Elrond?)
Captain Settle Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 That is the first dark toned elf hair. It will add more variation too elves, being able to have blond haired ones and brown haired ones.
Legonardo Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Wow, that Elrond is great, hopefully it isn't an exclusive to something, Those don't come to New Zealand
Ash Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 That Elrond looks great. Was going to pick up the game anyway, but this is the icing on the cake. I like that supporting characters like Elrond are getting good figures... to me it suggests a bit of dedication to the theme with more cool stuff to come... that may be wishful thinking!
Delta 38 Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Oh dear, not even Lord of the Rings is safe from the curse of the exclusive minifig... I didn't actually expect Elrond to be exclusive. I thought the figure was going to be in a set. I might pick up the game for the figure, or I might skip it for now. I'm only hesitant to because, like many other things, the price of games here is pretty much double the cost elsewhere.
Wardancer Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Wow, Elrond looks great. Another of these spectacular figs that will cost a fortune on bricklink. 12 Euro Haldir anyone, 12 for Theoden? A question to the pros who have been in the game for decades: Are these exclusive figs usually also released in sets? Or does TLG really keep them exclusive. Will the game only be for PS3 or also for PC?
Elander Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Regarding to the Last Alliance has LEGO to develop a real . And not 1x single Elrond minifig. only for Play Station Games. Why they do not create a real LEGO Set including Sauron, Elendil.... What's up?
Jedi master Brick Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 I think the minifigure would be for the x box game to, otherwise Ai would be quite disappointed because it is a great looking minifigure.
Blondie-Wan Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 (edited) Wow, Elrond looks great. Where, when and how will the figure be available? I can see already the promos and polybags for this theme are going to be immensely frustrating for those of us who want to get them all. I'm glad Indiana Jones has a single SDCC-exclusive set to worry about, with no unique elements; it appears I won't be any luckier with this line than with Star Wars or Superheroes... Wardancer, I don't know for sure what platforms the LEGO Lord of the Rings game will be on, but essentially all the previous TT LEGO video games based on licensed themes (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, Batman / DC, you name it) have been available on multiple platforms, including all the major consoles on the market at the times of the games' releases, as well as the PC (with lots or most of them eventually getting Mac ports as well). While I have no specific information, I'd fully expect there to be a PC version of the game. BTW, is there any chance the initial post in this thread could be updated to include the known promo sets and whatnot that have come out or will come out this year? It'd be helpful to have a list of everything all in one place... Edited August 3, 2012 by Blondie-Wan
djmangunz Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 gasp...sputter.... Exclusive Elrond...must...have... I don't even have a current game system. I wonder if there is any way I could bribe someone at Gamestop to sell me a figure or two? Hate to wait for it to go on ebay and have to drop a small fortune on it. Anyone want a discounted special edition of the LOTR video game?
K-Nut Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Yay! I'm a bit disappointed it's not Gandalf the White like I heard, but Elrond is still such an awesome fig to add to my collection.
Darth Lurtz Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Yay! I'm a bit disappointed it's not Gandalf the White like I heard, but Elrond is still such an awesome fig to add to my collection. If we got Gandalf the White as an exclusive in a video game, then we wouldn't get Shadowfax.
deskp Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 (edited) Well this destroys all hope for a Sauron figure. Im guessing the sword mold will be seen in future sets.. lego never make mold exclusive(except for some CMF) Now for the complaining: He needs gloves BADLY the sword is not what Elrond used, it is what the rest of the elves used. Either way the sword should be silver/metal NOT gold... Seriously! ____ see how nicely the silever blades contrast their gold armor: LINK My photoshop: Edited August 3, 2012 by deskp
General Magma Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 That figure looks fantastic... I won't be able to resist pre-ordering this game anymore. Well, not that I would ever resist. I'm glad it's not Gandalf the White, because if it was him, we wouldn't have gotten his horse and it wouldn't make sense for him to not appear in sets, since he's a key character in the films. Making him exclusive wouldn't work. Uhh, the game is available for PC too, right? Or will be, at least..? Also, does this mean that we could get to see a new trailer for the game soon?
Masked Builder Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 YES!! Gandalf made no sense to me, this Elrond makes much more if you ask me. Can't wait to get him! Yay! I'm a bit disappointed it's not Gandalf the White like I heard, but Elrond is still such an awesome fig to add to my collection. Who cares? Elrond is better!
deskp Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Yeah the game will be on xbox,ps3,pc,vita & 3ds I'm sure Keep in mind simply pre ordering won't get you the figure, you have to pre order from places who has the deal. I'm sure it will also be included in the special/limited edition of the game.
Combee Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Woo! Awesome minifig. My only complaint is that he has too much gold on him. It would have been nice if they had printed on the arms to offset some of that or given him a silver sword (as mentioned above). I'm assuming that when we get an elf set from The Hobbit we'll see those swords again.

Either way the sword should be silver/metal NOT gold... Seriously! Because you can't change the hands of a figure... Multiple figures from the LOTR theme lack gloves while they should have them (Boromir, Gimli, Théoden, etc.) - however, that's nothing a quick switch can't solve. Now, as for the weapon... most of it is supposed to be gold, while just the blade is silver. If this really bothers you, go ahead and paint it. I actually doubt they created this mold for just a one-time use, which means that the hopes for a potential Last Alliance set is not necessarily crushed. If they do make one, it only means that there's one less figure has to be made for that battle, improving the chance of having all key characters from that battle along with some generic soldiers.
Spider-Man Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 I doubt it is possible, but could they have a different exclusive for every system? I know we heard about Gandalf being one, and considering the picture of Elrond has PS3 by it maybe you can only get Elrond with a game from one or two platforms? Again I doubt that would be the case, but still food for thought.

No, that would never happen. ...And I'm glad so, else I would have to buy every available game console and multiple copies of the game to get every fig.. Edited August 3, 2012 by General Magma

I much prefer not having to change the hands. The sword has a silver blade with a brown/wood handle, Only the small details on the handle is supposed to be gold.
Fives Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Wow, Elrond is amazing! The printing is fantastic, and the hair looks great in dark brown. My only gripe is the sword. It shouldn't be gold. Elves didn't have gold swords. They should have done it in silver. It would have made it more accurate and offset the intensity of his gold armour. Also, I find it funny that people are worried that this sword might be a one time thing. If it is, then LEGO must be planning to never release another Elf fig after this. This sword will most likely become the standard Elven blade for all of the LOTR theme, being used by Last Alliance elves, Lothlorien elves, and Mirkwood elves. That way LEGO will maximize their usage of a relatively generic weapon, much like the highlander sword for most of the Men in the first wave. I just hope we get it in silver after this, and never see another gold one.
