No i just need more posts to be a full member like this!

Then I recommend that you make your introduction here

I would also recommend Guilds of Historica, become a member and treat us with your crations made of lego (MOC - My Own Creation)

Welcome :) What would you like to see in new LOTR and Hobbit sets? (here is your chance for another post:))

Fellow Canadians!! *oh2* *oh2* *oh2*

(EDIT:And residents from Australia, New Zealand and the UK!!!)

Warner Brother's online merch shop now sells LOTR sets (minus Orc Forge) at USA MSRP price and apparently ships to Canada - you know what that means!!! I haven't tried ordering yet (I'm in the process of moving) but I will definitely get my 2nd Uruk Hai army set from them if they ship to Canada.

Anyone care to try it out?

http://www.wbshop.com

Thanks for the link. I placed an order for six LOTR sets with the coupon code "DEALS10" from http://www.retailmenot.com/showcoupon/3236062 and it went through. Looks like the shipping is a flat rate of $20.

Merchandise Subtotal: $332.70

Shipping: $20.00

Tax: $0.00

$10 off $50 coupon ($10.00)

Total: $342.70

Since it is under $500 NZD it should be tax free. If my calculations are correct it will be about 40% cheaper than buying here. If only they had the orc forge.

Is that in US dollars?

Yes it is in US dollars, but they only ship to Australia, Canada, New Zealand and UK. If anyone is interested I suggest you do a search for coupons codes and try you own as they seem to be better coupons out there.

Well I finally decided to get Gandalfs set, Gandlaf is truly awesome :cry_happy:

ahhhhhh :) I am both happy for you and envy you at the same time ;) which six sets?

Right, because according to the book they ARE wolves. They are not great chunky mutated hyena-like beasts. They are big wolves, end of story. That hyena-type design was one of the worst things they came up with in TTT in my opinion, and I for one am really happy they have switched back to a wolf-like body. Movie purists can scream "CONTINUITY ERROR!!" all they like, I'd rather have something that conforms to the book.

Also, regarding the Lego versions, a wolf body is going to be much more useful for MOCing than the hyena beast. With a TTT warg, the only thing you can use if for is TTT MOCs. But a wolf warg can be used wherever you need a really big wolf. Game of Thrones direwolf, anyone?

I absolutely agree with you 100%. LOTR and the Hobbit were first and formost books written by Tolkien not Peter Jackson so, really the hyena beasts in LOTR were more of a continuity error than the switch from hyena to wolf in the Hobbit films. That being said I really don't think that either change is really anything to get worked up about since all of the major themes were present in the LOTR movies and most likely the same will be in the Hobbit films. On a side note I wonder if Lego will make both hyena beasts and giant wolves or if they will stick with just the wolves. That will be interesting to see. :classic:

As long as we get at least 2 wargs in the set I don't care what they look like. And how many years before frodo gets the ring does the hobbit take place?? The isengard wargs had plenty of time to be mutated...

If I had to guess, I would think Lego would just make the giant wolves from the Hobbit. It makes the most sense. For one thing, Lego already has a TON of sets to cram in to the LotR waves since all three movies have long since been released. The Hobbit, on the other hand, doesn't even have the first film out yet and it will be almost two years before we get all of them. Also the warg scene from The Two Towers isn't much of a scene that Lego could recreate. It all takes place in the hills and flat valley which would be hard for Lego to do much with in a set. Someone else also brought up that a large wolf creature would be a lot more useful than a hyena, which I also agree with.

I will be happy when I get my hands on them, they haven’t sent the order yet. I ordered all of them except The Orc forge. It feels incomplete so I also ordered the Orc Forge locally with 25% off from http://www.toyco.co.nz. I also ordered two sets of POTC with 60% The Mill 4183 and The London Escape 4193. I think these sets are castle like so hopefully they will go well with MMV and MVR.

I am considering getting a second 9471 Uruk-Hai Army using up credit points. Doesn’t anyone know well two Uruk-Hai Armies would go with The Battle of Helm's Deep. Does it connect well on the right-hand side?

I used that link aswell, got 2 HD and an UH A with it. orders over 50 USD have free shipping + 20 for international

Where in New Zealand are you?

So, what's with that Uruk-hai polybag? I remember reading that it will be available in some UK newspaper promotion, but I don't recall the details. Is it The Sun? And which week? Is this even confirmed at all? Any information on this would be welcome.

Did it arrive and was it well packed?

I get the feeling this is a bit off-topic. But anyway I have live in Hamilton.

Sucks that its released about a month after expected.

______________

"Happy Birthday to 'The Hobbit'! 75 years ago today, J.R.R Tolkien's classic novel was published for the very first time. We've got a bunch of exciting stuff coming soon with our new THE HOBBITâ„¢ range. But for now, you can kick off the celebrations with these amazing LEGO Lord of the Rings sets and bring the story to life!"

-From legos facebook.

"Soon" can mean anything tho... them using the word soon, makes it sound like we wont be getting anything this month imo.. Except for images of the board game.

Yes, they are suppose to be available in the Sun paper on October 6, 2012. Apparently they are also offered at the Legoland Discovery Centers after doing some research, but that seems to of flown under the radar? I never heard anything about it...

I don't think we're getting official pics this week. Did anyone else saw the pics LEGO's facebook page posted of the LOTR sets.

Its not my photo (captain BeerBeards)but has this been posted yet?
