Minas Morgul is also another option. 3 more Nazgul on horses can easily be included along with Frodo, Sam and Gollum.

This would make a great set, and it would be the prime place to introduce a LEGO Fell Beast!

I think expecting TLG to release exactly 9 identical nazgul minifigs is a bit silly. If you really think about it, over the entire 3 films there was only 1 scene where all 9 were present. Every other time it was 1, 4 or 5. How hard is it to make one out of existing parts from BL? Not very. Black horse, black hood, black cape, black head, black legs, black torso, black arms, black hands. None of that is rare. Use 2 or more from the sets and make your own of the rest if you need 9. They won't be exactly the same, but they won't look out of place. The horse is the biggest risk there.

I think that we will definitely see sets that will have all the Nazgul, just not all together. LEGO wouldn't for us to buy multiples of a set to get some very pivotal characters from the storyline. Also, I believe that Khamul, the most powerful Nazgul second only to the Witch King, will be making some sort of an appearance in one of the Hobbit films. But, don't quote me on this! I'm not sure, I just read a cast list a few months ago, and he was on it, but it may change.

I saw that Sala Baker was listed as playing Khamûl. Given that the Nazgûl were present in Dol Guldur with the Necromancer (was the Witch King still in Arnor at that point?) But that means we'll see more Nazgûl with The Hobbit sets, no doubt. I hope we don't see any sets that are too Nazgûl heavy, or we'll end up with about fifty of them by the time a decade has passed!!!

I agree. Any sith-robe torso will do as well, and a black dementor cape. For what it's worth, we already have all the Nazgul anyway, since they all look alike. The Witch-King's helmet is all that's missing, though he didn't have it in black rider form, anyhow.

Nope, Angmar was gone for a millenium. The Witch-King was in Minas Morgul.

Yes he was in Minas Morgul at this time. The Witch King was making preparations for Saurons return to Mordor.

On Topic. I agree there will be plenty of sets for the black riders to show up in. If anyone wants all 9 now they can just bricklink or buy multiple sets.

Perhaps. I think it could have worked though. If you look at the way the Fellowship is scattered throughout the sets, it's a fairly even spread. You need most of the sets for all of the characters.

I think the main problem isn't really that they're identical. If anything, it's probably for set reasons.

A full lineup of the Black Riders would be a good marketing strategy, but they'd be kind of tedious to see over and over again. They should deserve to be in at least one more set (with horses) though.

On another topic, I think a Balrog set would be nice. :classic:

The lego heroes and villains wallpapers are in legos image archive in better quality than has been on other sites.

Actually, I doubt we'll get enough sets to fill out the Nazgul without buying multiples. So many people are being overly optimistic about this, when in the past LEGO rarely minds forcing AFOLs (the only people who'll care much for getting a complete set) to buy multiples of a set or buy the figs secondhand. I'm not berating them for this, because I also think it would be a waste to release so many sets based around releasing enough Nazgul, especially when most kids will be satisfied after getting the two from Weathertop.

We will probably get a Witch King set eventually, and some Nazgul might appear sparsely in some other, possibly smaller sets. But expecting a set with three or more horse-mounted Nazgul is wishful thinking at its finest.

YES! YES! YES! My 7-yo son watched bits and pieces of LotR with me a couple of years ago and one of the few things he remembers of LotR is the Balrog. He even remembered a few details that I had forgotten. Kind of bad when your 7-yo son proves you wrong.

A lego balrog could either be very cool or horrible, its size emans it would propably be brick buildt and that doesent always look so good.

I'm guessing that LEGO would prefer the latter over the former. LOL

Personally, I'm thrilled with what we've seen so far. It's far more than I expected and probably at least equal to what I had hoped for.

The only way I could see LEGO pulling off a good Balrog would being going the same route as the crystal king from the Power Miners theme. I never bought it, but it looked really good and accomplished what it needed to well. It has been a few years since, so if LEGO did something similar for the Balrog, I'm guessing the design would only have improved.

I still can't see any way to put it in a set. What would they have other than Gandalf and the Balrog?

Bridge, pillars, ruins, rocks... that kind of thing.

The more I see to the pics, the more the list of wish sets expands.

At first I said to myself just to get Helms Deep because it is an iconic part of the whole trilogy, and of course the Uruk Hai set to expand it, but now that orc forge seems great too.

And the whole fellowship is just beatiful.

So guess the list keeps growing to add Moria, Shelobs and Gandalf cart.

What I am really expecting is pics from the toy fair, and perhaps a better look at the orc forge. I need to evaluate if it would be better to get that one instead of the Uruk hai, but I could tell the orc forge would be part of a Isengard set on the future with a little luck.

I also need to see how the troll is going to be. If I remember well the types of trolls varies on the movies, so maybe another mold is on next waves.

I'm surprised about the lack of information about the LEGO LotR game. I mean, we haven't even heard of a release date yet.

That is becuase it isnt announced, It is just assumed by everyone its coming.

So for now you should think of it as non existent.

Also the announced "Batman 2: dc super heroes" game hasn't released any proper info yet.

Guys, discussing future sets is not on topic (I think? :look: )

I started an off-topic conversation. :purrr:

Okay, back on topic now before I start another one, I wonder if there's any variation in the Uruk-hai?

I just found out about the Uruk-hai Berserker, which are apparently in the second movie. Is there any chance of them appearing in Helm's Deep?

Since there are five Uruk-hai in the set, I think it could be possible that one or two of them could be a Berserker.

There is 1 berserker, 2 with full armor, one with only helmet and one with hair and no armor.

As far as I am aware, these are the variations on Uruk-Hai helmets and armour. We know we are getting the first three, the captain, the standard Uruk and the beserker, and I doubt we will see the others, with possible exception of the FOTR variant, as Amon Hen has fairly good set potential.

Captain (such as Lurtz and Ugluk):

Standard:

Beserker:

Archers:

Sappers:

FOTR (Think they might be called scouts):

Then finally there are these, seen briefly in TTT. To me they look like they'd be the annoyingly hard ones to kill in video game versions:

I think the sizes are okay, if not I can come back and edit them later. If I've made mistakes, missed stuff out, let me know :)

Fellowship of the Ring? Is it just me, or does Legolas's face bear a resemblance to the S3 elf's face?

I meant that this variant appears in FOTR, but are more lightly armed than their TTT counterparts, and I'm petty sure I read they were called scouts :)

Yeah, they have very impressive and regal cheek patterns. I think the best word to describe them if 'fair' :)

I like the Uruk-Hai, but all the first wave seems very Uruk-heavy. When Sauron said to build him an army worthy of Mordor, I don't think he meant out of Lego.

I imagine the Hobbit sets will have a decent number of goblins, though...
