JackJonespaw Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 I hope so. I would've preferred the Orc Forge set to be the Siege of Isengard, with it's scaffolding changed to the "raft" that floated into the canyon during the Siege of Isengard, and of course the Ents. As it stands the set is a bit pointless (except for Orcs) in my opinion. I agree that to Orc Forge is a bit pointless. I would definitely add Saruman in that set, taking out an orc.
sebarabas Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 sorry if this has been posted before, but i dont follow the lord of the ring forum. Dharkan Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 After thinking about it more, I consider buying multiples of Uruk-hai Army. 6 figs, a horse and really useful selection of parts. It might be the best set of 2012 (to my standards)
piemaster1446 Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 The Brick Show has started releasing their toy fair reviews from the Toy Fair. For the Hobbit sets I think they will be these. Niku Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 I think some of those idea sets could really come to life, I just expect Lego to do a similar distribution of minifigs as for the fellowship, so we dont have Bilbo in every set, which would be better to dont have multiples of him, similar to what happened with POTC and POP that in every set there was the main figure. (By the way there is a thread about posting ideas for sets http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=63804) but surely with so many threads sometimes we misspassed them. So for the next 2 years we could expect perhaps 7 sets per wave, with that quantity it could be covered the basics for Middle Earth and the movies.

It might be the best set of 2012 (to my standards) I agree. There is no waste in this set, with 257 pieces and as you said 6 fig and a horse, the price/parts ratio is really good. Here's hoping these will be is stores when Toys R Us runs a B1G1 90% Edited February 18, 2012 by Mr.Macgyver
WampaStomper Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 The Brick Show has started releasing their toy fair reviews from the Toy Fair. For the Hobbit sets I think they will be these. "Lots of great ideas" I hope you like my ideas! Three things: A)Has the Hobbit: There and Back Again not been confirmed as just filling in the gap between Hobbit Part One and LoTR? If I'm correct, Barrels out of Bond and The Desolation of Smaug would be from An Unexpected Journey. B)TLC won't be making sets from Part Two: There and Back Again until next year. C)I'm pretty sure that ideas with no real evidence go in Future LoTR Sets
Haltiamieli Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 A)Has the Hobbit: There and Back Again not been confirmed as just filling in the gap between Hobbit Part One and LoTR? If I'm correct, Barrels out of Bond and The Desolation of Smaug would be from An Unexpected Journey. Nope, it was confirmed in 2009 that Jackson and Del Toro had changed minds and decided to scrap the idea of a "bridge film" and just do The Hobbit in two parts, even if there will be concurrent happenings included that are not in the book like the doings of the White Council.
Etmerek Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Three things: A)Has the Hobbit: There and Back Again not been confirmed as just filling in the gap between Hobbit Part One and LoTR? If I'm correct, Barrels out of Bond and The Desolation of Smaug would be from An Unexpected Journey. B)TLC won't be making sets from Part Two: There and Back Again until next year. C)I'm pretty sure that ideas with no real evidence go in Future LoTR Sets There has nothing completely confirmed about the script of The Hobbit films, except that there'll be 2 movies, and besides the basic story from the book they'll include some references to the White Council and the Battle against the Necromancer from Dol Guldur (revealing that it was no other than Sauron). That, with the proper development, should be enough filling between both sagas, I don't think ther is much more to tell about how they connect, specially since a lot is said in LotR trilogy about Bilbo and the founding of the One Ring. My guess is that the first movie of The Hobbit will end in the Mirkwood, after Bilbo has rescued the Dwarfs from the spiders and find out that Thorin is missing, maybe showing him prisoner of the Elven King. So, I think Barrels out of Bound will be a set form the second Hobbit movie.
Seaber Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 We know that at one point they were casting for Drogo (Frodo's father), so at one point they were probably going to show the death of Frodo's parents and his adoption of Bilbo, But the actor who was going to be playing his got recast as a bigger part, so that might have been ruled out. We don't know where the cut off for the two Hobbit films are yet, but popular opinions are between the capture by the Elven King and Bilbo's first sight of Smaug. So it looks like we should be getting set up until AT LEAST Mirkwood. Hope this is helpful!
piemaster1446 Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Sorry bout my post I ment to put it in the future Lotr sets thre@d (my @ key broke).

EnShinNoi Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Hello everyone, first post! I don't collect LEGO but very rarely I buy new sets cheap off eBay, build them then resell later as used. Nostalgia is a comforting feeling. I'm very interested in the LOTR sets (been waiting for years) so that's how I stumbled upon this forum. Depending on how expensive they are in Australia, I may only purchase Mines of Moria because it's a favourite movie moment of mine. I just wish there was a cheap way of obtaining the entire fellowship

Stiel Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 I just wish there was a cheap way of obtaining the entire fellowship Or you could wait some time to see what sets are coming up. By this time next year, information about the 2013 summer wave sets (presumably for the LotR movies again, not for The Hobbit) will be known, and this year's sets should still be available, so you can determine the best assortment of sets to get the entire fellowship from twice as many sets.
Wolvarie Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Amazon does often sell seperate minifigs or you could try Ebay if you don't use bricklink. Amazon doesn't sell lego to Australia.
TheDarkness Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Amazon doesn't sell lego to Australia. Some of them do, check out the Buying from other countries thread in the Buy, Sell, Trade and finds forum
Brickadeer Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 2. The Desolation of Smaug Minifigures: Riverfolk Archer(Forgot his name), Nori, Ori, Dori, Bilbo, Smaug Price: $29.99 I hope you like my ideas! If I remember correctly, Smaug was pretty huge, and I do not believe that a US $29.99 set can do him justice.
Wolvarie Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 (edited) Some of them do, check out the Buying from other countries thread in the Buy, Sell, Trade and finds forum Thnks will do. If I remember correctly, Smaug was pretty huge, and I do not believe that a US $29.99 set can do him justice. Imagine a set with a brickbuilt Smaug in the main chamber of Lonely Moutain lying on a pile of lego coins, jewels, etc and Bilbo. Call it Never Laugh at a Live Dragon. Iconic picture around the US 60 - 80 range. Could have some sets of armour and other dwarven weapons and architecture pillars, the secret tunnel, maybe a flight of stairs like in the picture below and the Arkenstone. Dharkan Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 I'm really hoping for an awesome brick-built Smaug.
Fives Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 I'm sorry, but all this discussion on what we hope to see in the Hobbit wave is getting REALLY off topic. This is the sort of stuff to be discussed in the Future Sets topic.
Seaber Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 IS Gollum's head moulded onto the body, or a removable head?
