I know I was the last person to post here, but the talk about Aragorn's clothes got me thinking about the minifig. People seem to be a bit upset with the fact that his pants are dark tan, which seems a bit incorrect, and, overall, people seem upset with the colours LEGO used for Aragorn's clothes. But, I thought back to the POTC theme. If you watch the movies, you will notice that Gibbs wears a white shirt and a blue waistcoat/vest, similar to Jack Sparrow. But, for the minifig, the gave Gibbs a dark tan body with a dark bley vest, so as to remove confusion between the two minifigs. So, they possibly decided to give Aragorn somewhat incorrect colours for his clothes to give him a more 'good guy' look, because if he were to wear black and dark bley clothes, kids might mistake him for some sort of villain. I may be wrong, but it is just a thought...

I think that they're supposed to be his boots. Lego does that a lot with characters who have large boots. They did it with episode I and III obi-wan, and some others I can't recall.

just my two cents, though.

:excited: AWWWWWWWW YEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!

Now all we have to wait for is the moment when they move it to te top of the page....

We have seen all the LOTR stuff by now through.

I'm waiting for any HOBBIT news.

Hopefully bag end and smaug sets! Maybe the dwarves could be like two per set not including thorin. 6 sets and the biggest one with thorin that way we get all the dwarves spread out in the sets.!

We're still missing hi-res pics of the Orc Forge, I'm pretty excited about that one. And of Theoden's torso too.

In regards to the Hobbit, I don't expect to see Smaug sets before December 2013, as the dragon won't appear in the first movie (unless Peter Jackson changes something).

I'm sure this has been mentioned several times before but I can't seem to find it. Do we have a supposed release date for these sets in the US?

Sadly you are right we are going to have to wait almost 2 years before we see a Smaug. :cry_sad: Though at the end of the first one they could have a cliffhanger with Smaug in and LEGO could do a set around that? Its just an idea? :shrug_oh_well:

Unless I'm mistaken, they should be released in June...not sure the exact date.

Wait

Smaug won't appear in the first movie (coming out in December 2012), so we won't see him in sets before December 13 (when the second movie comes out)?

That's quite the weird logic you're going by.

Um....

I don't really see the flawed logic there. I mean, we aren't seeing hobbit sets unil the (first) movie is almost out, and the information is correct as far as we know, Smaug won't be in 'An Unexpected Journey'.

But we will see him in There and Back Again, which is December 2013.

Therefore we could see him in sets before December 2013 for the movie.

Chances are the Hobbit sets will be around Fall.

Not to mention there is no guarantee this theme will last all the way to 2014

Thank you!

But poor Sam - look at his right arm and his sword...

I've always wondered gow those picture flaws happened. do you know?

Probably just a photoshop error they didn't notice until it was too late.

Of course it's an error that has happened in Photoshop and not at taking the picture. My posting was meant as a hint for the graphic designer with tongue in cheek.

Ah. I was under the impression that we would not be seeing those sets until the first film came out or later. Sorry!

Excellent, thanks for the information. Anyone have an exact date for the release however?

I don't think it has an exact date yet (At least not one known to us.) The LEGO site simply says "Summer 2012". We have managed to gather that it is going to be released in June, but by what means, I do not know.

Last year POTC was skated for a May 2011 release, but sets started popping up here and there a couple weeks before that. Hopefully that will be the case with LOTR, so people can make reviews of the sets and we can see, in more detail, how amazing they are.

That would be just AWESOME. I only got into POTC about a month after te release, so I was unaware this happens.... Once again, that would be awesome! I'm very ready to check out the reviews. I'll probably be picking up at least one Uruk Hai Army, Helm's Deep, and hopefully Gandalf Arrives and Mines of Moria. If I have any money left over, I'll get Shelob Attacks and Weathertop!!

Last night I watched most of the first lord of the rings film, and saw the bit which the mines of moria set is based on(I like the part where the guy says "They've got a cave troll."), uhh...the bit where gandolf arrives next to frodo in the cart and I think that's it. Though I have to check and see if there was other bits I saw that were made into a set.

Gandalf Arrives, Weathertop, Moria and Orc Forge (which we haven't seen in HD yet) are currently the only FOTR sets.

As for the release date - it is possible that the sets show up late May already,

but these were really scheduled for June, whereas the POTC sets were actually scheduled for a release date in May, as far as I can remember.

Might be wrong though.. :look:

Also, I just looked at those HD pictures a bit more... and I noticed that both Gimli figures (HD and Moria) have differently colored beards.

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed it too? In Helm's Deep, he seems to have a dark orange beard,

but in the Mines of Moria set, they gave him brown... I wonder if they're going with dark orange in the end or if they'll keep using

this, and if so I'd wonder why...

Orc Forge can technically count as a Two Towers set as well.

Yes, but what makes it FOTR for me is the inclusion of Lurtz.

But other than that, it should work as a TTT set too, I just think TLG will label it as a FOTR set as well.
