Durins Bane Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Does that face look familiar? It reminds me of something Harry Potter... Wrong face wrong legs... I doubt TLG would include a sticker sheet for minifig stickers, they're always just printed on... well, except for stickers on a few older figures, but that was unnecessary and no longer occurs, I think... guess... well, hope... Great, more people who are "stealing" my plans. Know that you'll have competition. ~ General Magma Wanted to do it for yearsss...

Omicron Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 A minifg scale minis tirith has indeed been done, however a minifigure scale helms deep has not. It's actually been done before, at BrickFest 2007. -Omi
Durins Bane Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 It's actually been done before, at BrickFest 2007. -Omi Like i said, and I'm still not wrong, This is not minifig scale. It is missing half the levels.

I was responding to Helms Deep, which was stated to not have been done. And I've seen a fig scale Minis Tirith at BrickFest 2005. :P -Omi Edited April 24, 2012 by Omicron

Omicron Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 No one has done an accurate figure scale HD or MT. Like I said Last March of the Ent's Orthanc, possibly was... I just told you that it has been done at these events. Just because it hasn't been done recently doesn't denote the fact it has been done in the past. -Omi
deskp Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Minas tirith in lego does NOT look nice made out of so much white. Blend it whith a whole bunch of light gray and you got something. thats a little random, but had to say it somewhere x]
Durins Bane Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I just told you that it has been done at these events. Just because it hasn't been done recently doesn't denote the fact it has been done in the past. -Omi I have scoured the internet for days ever since watching LOTR and I know for a fact that they have never been done full scale or half accurate. I'll give you maybe... but no pictures exist.

Heres a description of MT "Minas Tirith was built on a hill with seven concentric tiers culminating in the Citadel at the summit. Each of the seven levels stood 100 ft (30 m) higher than the one below it, each surrounded by a white wall, with the exception of the wall of the First Circle, which was black." "The seventh wall contained the Citadel with the white Tower of Ecthelion, which was 300 ft (91 m) high, so that its pinnacle was one thousand feet above the plain." So that ones square, lol and not 1000 bricks high. The end.

Durins Bane Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 So the deeping wall should be about 13cm tall, good luck! (helms deep) Minas tirith shold be 6 meters tall. Yes the math i did came out to 20 bricks tall, 12 studs wide, and 272ish studs long
Kookaburra Bomb Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Well it's not the 1:48 that would suit lego scale perfectly, but if you're telling me that a Lego Minas Tirith should be larger than the original WETA bigiatures to be accurate then that's just silly.
Legonardo Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Well it's not the 1:48 that would suit lego scale perfectly, but if you're telling me that a Lego Minas Tirith should be larger than the original WETA bigiatures to be accurate then that's just silly. The Weta Model is 1 : 72, so of course a 1 : 48 minifig scale model would be larger.

LOL from the looks of that model, a minifig looks too tall to fit with that. So, yes hahahha, bigger.
Kookaburra Bomb Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 (edited) I know the scale difference, I was merely pointing out that at 1:72, it's impressive and massive. Doing it larger than that would be pointless Edited April 24, 2012 by Kookaburra Bomb
CorneliusMurdock Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Durins Bane, I think what you're arguing is that no one has done it to your specific exacting standards. The works that the other builders have done are impressive. It's rude to belittle their accomplishment. Minifig scale is a somewhat loose term, especially since the minifig itself is not exactly proportional to an actual person. If you think you can do it better or more accurately, no one's going to stop you. But right now you're persisting in an argument that doesn't paint you in a good light. I'd recommend you just drop it and we all get back to discussing the actual sets coming out.
