TypoCorrecto Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 (edited) Orc Forge is available for Pre-order on Target.com. It is at $39.99 and says it will ship 6/1. I would imagine it will be in stores at that time then also. Can't wait! Yes, as well as the rest of the sets as I posted earlier, but it will probably be available before June 1st... Durins Bane Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 I'll probably get two sets of Uruk-hai first. Or one Uruk-hai army and one Helms deep...
Sirtank Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Well I have 3 more paychecks before the June 1st release, If I budget myself well, I should be able to pick up 1 of each set. I Think I will pre-order them from Target's website. I'll save 5% with my Target card and get free shipping. Man, there has really just been too many great Lego sets released this year.
TheLegoDr Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Yes, as well as the rest of the sets as I posted earlier, but it will probably be available before June 1st... Blaze asked about Orc Forge specifically, as it was not included in the list you gave. That is the only reason I posted so shortly after you. That would be neat if they came out before June 1st though. I probably will save mine for Christmas. Too many sets coming out this year.
Durins Bane Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 The monster fighter sets look okay, but YOU know they will be around forever... WE ALL need to buy a LOTR set when they hit shelves, and tell our kids in our families to do the same. If we do not, I'm scared we will not get another wave..... So PLEASE buy just Gandalfs arrival or something..
Omicron Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 (edited) The monster fighter sets look okay, but YOU know they will be around forever... Says who? Stores usually push aside regular themes to make room for license themes. He should get Monster Hunters first. -Omi Edited May 2, 2012 by Omicron
Lynx Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 I'd really like to get all sets, but that's just not realist with the expected pricing. So I can either collect the fellowship (Shelob, Weathertop, Gandalf, Mines of Moria) or the two Rohan sets (Helm's Deep and Uruk army). Both should be around 300 AU$. I think Helm's Deep is a nicer display and includes fantastic minifigures (Theoden, Haldir). Additionally, I suspect the release of Rohan/ Uruk battle packs that would enhance the scene even further. On the other hand, the fellowship is simply iconic, and I really like LEGO Boromir. As for Legolas and Gandalf, I'm sure they'll feature in another set for the Hobbit movie.
Duke of wellington Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 I am buying these just for the horses for my waterloo theme
GRogall Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 (edited) A nice HR image of the Orc Forge! Picture links to HR version +2400.pxl 9476 The Orc Forge Enjoy! :classic: Edited May 3, 2012 by GRogall
Delta 38 Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Thanks for the pic! Hmm, strange. I don't actually remember shields having the White Hand, so it's a bit odd that they have them and the chest armour doesn't. I was also hoping for hand position variety, but oh well.
Etzel Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 The Orc Forge is the weakest of the line IMO, but holy cow is that olive green cheese slopes?!
narbilu Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 I think this set is brilliant... I will for sure get at least 2 of these. 2 complete (White Hand of Saruman) armor sets, three new orc swords, orc head/ear piece, olive green slopes, reddish light brick and much more fun MOCing stuff. Together with 2 Uruk-Hai Army sets, Mines of Moria and Helms Deep enough to start a new (orcish) armie. Let the battles begin.
STIG Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 I'm a little slow.. just noticed something: 9469 Gandalf Arrives 9470 Shelob Attacks 9471 Uruk-Hai Army 9472 Attack on Weathertop 9473 The Mines of Moria 9474 The Battle of Helm’s Deep 9476 The Orc Forge Any idea why 9475 is missing?
Etzel Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Any idea why 9475 is missing? Because 9475 already exists: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=9475-1
Masked Builder Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 That might just be my favorite set! Quite likeable with all of those Orcs, no to figure out how I'm going to pay for all of these....
Wolvarie Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 (edited) I wish to have those prices in Australia. I haven't bought LEGO in nearly 20 years but really want some LotR things. So I had a look around a shopping centre today and compared some prices in Target, BigW and Meyer to Amazon... At the moment, 1 US$ equals 0.97 AU$. - PotC: London Escape: Amazon 40, Australia 89-99 - PotC: Whitecap Bay: Amazon: 65, Australia 117-120 - SW: X-Wing: Amazon 47, Australia 120 - SW: Tie Fighter: Amazon 34, Australia 99 - SW: Droid Escape: Amazon 20, Australia 49 I assume that these sets are good indicators for LotR prices. :( I hear you Lynx. Might buy a few smaller sets locally, but most will be sourcing from my good friends in the US via Bricklink, saving like mad atm. Now have to add orc forge to the list... ;( Folks in the US don't know how damn good they have it. Edited May 2, 2012 by Wolvarie
Graysmith Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 (edited) Glad the Orc Forge is the exclusive set since I have no desire to get it. Edited May 2, 2012 by Graysmith
andhe Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Nice to see the happy little Orcs busy at work in the forge. :P Seems an odd choice, when most other sets seem to revolve around conflict. Playing 'orc forge' doesn't really sound that exciting, other than this being an oversized battle-pack.
Durins Bane Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 It is kind of weird that lurtz is brown and that there is an additional Uruk because Lurtz is the first-born of them...

I agree with this I would geuss most people will use the figures for MOCs and other pourpouses as the froge whilst it looks fun it appears to be one of thse sets that looks like it was thrown together with spare parts that lego had lying around. (just my opinion )
thornie Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 (edited) Says who? Stores usually push aside regular themes to make room for license themes. He should get Monster Hunters first. -Omi Yes, this is exactly what I was thinking. LoTR will be all over the shelves come the Holidays. I don't think Monster Hunters will be that readily available after Halloween. *shrugs* I could be wrong though. I couldn't resist and pre ordered Gandalf Arrives. :) Edited May 2, 2012 by thornie
Fives Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 I don't think that LEGO made the Orc Forge just from spare parts and they were bored. Sure, it may be the weakest of the sets, but without in we would have no Mordor orcs. I feel that one of the main reasons they made the set was to give some sort of way of getting Mordor orcs. All the other sets would make no sense with Mordor orcs. Also, you get a good amount of Uruk accessories, which is a plus.
Elander Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 You can buy the Orc Forge multiple times. (All) bricks are very useful, the orcs also, and you don't get double "main characters" here. I think to the "Orc Forge" suits Saruman's black Orthanc tower. Maybe is the Orc Forge a first sign?
CMP Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 You can buy the Orc Forge multiple times. (All) bricks are very useful, the orcs also, and you don't get double "main characters" here. Agreed. Throw some Armor on Lurtz and give him some pants, you have another nameless Uruk. Not to mention with the addition of the White Hand Armor, every fig in this set is now exclusive.

(just my opinion ) I think this set will make a nice terrain piece for a Brikwars battlefield...and the figs included will help build my Orcish army.
