General Magma Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 (edited) Those figures look great! Thanks for the pics. The only one I'm a bit skeptic about is Gandalf - I'd want to change his hat to sand blue and give him hair as well. Other than that he's just great. Also, I don't know if anyone else has seen news of the leak, but the LEGO LOTR videogame is scheduled for release on October 26th of this year. ~ General Magma Edited May 10, 2012 by General Magma
petero Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 I stopped at my local TRU this morning, but no LOTR yet There was an employee stocking the LEGO aisle, but when I asked, it was obvious he'd never even heard of the LOTR sets, let alone seen them. He started telling me that it would be 2 or 3 months before a new set came out, so I explained that they're already at TRU online and in some stores. All he could say was "Well, I don't have them yet!" Peter
Lynx Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 sidersdd, thanks a lot for the photo correction! A sigh of relief for a Rohan fan. ;) Gandalf looks also better - not as good as on the box, but good enough to buy the set, after all. Those CGI pictures with tick boxes of all the mini figures are also much appreciated! General Magma, thanks for the video game release date! My wife and I liked the LEGO Star Wars games, so this will be a definite pick-up.
LRDark Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Our Spies in Mordor have found this: Oooh, that's a nifty little page! Any information regarding where that can be found? It looks like an instruction manual.
CMP Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Siderss has better pictures of those already. It's nice to see every figure, though.
Fives Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 That minifig page is great. I love Boromir fighting the goblin, and Frodo wrestling Gollum for the Ring is pretty cool. Also, at sidersdd, if you could take a picture of Éomer with Elizabeth Swann's hair, I would like to see how it looks on him.
sidersdd Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 (edited) Yeah, the pages with all the minifigs are from the instruction books from the sets. I posted the ones from the Uruk-hai Army set on my flickr feed. (The 2nd one is a little blurry. I need to rescan it.) That minifig page is great. I love Boromir fighting the goblin, and Frodo wrestling Gollum for the Ring is pretty cool. Ohh, I'll have to check that out! Thank you for the infor, sidersdd. It think my favourite is the orc attacking the Uruk with a shovel
JopieK Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Probably you guys in here already know that, but I'm not a history guy so: http://translate.google.nl/translate?hl=nl&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Ftweakers.net%2Fnieuws%2F81900%2Fwarner-bros-punt-komt-met-lord-of-the-rings-lego-game.html Came from a reliable Dutch geek site.
CM4Sci Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 I posted about this in the LOTR thread. Shouldn't this go elsewhere? -Sci
Legonardo Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Ok, it wasn't the best picture. And neither are these >picture x2< they are still pictures though! getting more and more exited about these (possibly a bad idea as I probably won't be able to afford them )
fred67 Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Ok, I know you all are anxious to get your hands on these sets, but without reading through thousands of responses, I'm curious about a second wave and if it will contain elf battle packs (like a supplement to Helms Deep).

I doubt we'll know before the end of the year... the next wave of Middle-Earth sets puts The Hobbit in the spotlights. ~ General Magma
Blaze Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Does anyone know when these sets are going to be released in Holland? I can't wait to get my hands on the sets.
Lynx Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Does anyone know when these sets are going to be released in Holland? I can't wait to get my hands on the sets. I found amazon.de a quite reliable source for European release dates. They have all sets listed for June 23. Not sure if this applies to Holland.
sidersdd Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Mines of Moria set in-hand now. LOTS of stickers with this set. Cave troll is nice. Gimli's helmet is sweet. Photos will come tonight.

Looking forward to see them! If you wouldn't mind doing me another favour, could you also upload a photo of Eomer without cape and one of the Rohan soldier with the cape, please?
Pandora Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 More photos (courtesy of the EB event ) (Out of focus photos by Rufus )
Fives Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Great pictures, Pandora! Also, I have a question for sidersdd. Can the Ring fit IN (not ON, like a stud) a minifig hand? It would be cool if Frodo could hold the Ring like is shown in his CGI picture on the official website.
Quarryman Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Also, I have a question for sidersdd. Can the Ring fit IN (not ON, like a stud) a minifig hand? It would be cool if Frodo could hold the Ring like is shown in his CGI picture on the official website. Yes, if held vertically it can fit in the hand, just tested with one of the rings in the Weathertop set Ecclesiastes is currently building at the EB Event in Billund.
Bilbo Baggins Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 What is the LEGO Lord of the Rings Project Case?
