Fives Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 (edited) Yes, if held vertically it can fit in the hand, just tested with one of the rings in the Weathertop set Ecclesiastes is currently building at the EB Event in Billund. That's great! Thanks! Also, I just thought about how there must be some people kicking themselves for buying those factory leaks from a couple weeks back! Edited May 10, 2012 by Fives
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Great. If we are to judge it by the quality of previous TT-Lego games, it'll be awesome, although I'll probably won't be able to buy it anyways...
Durins Bane Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Okay, so today I was told Lego is planning to release LOTR early... either May 21st or 28th or something like that... A Lego brand retail store manager told me earlier. He also said that if battle packs were coming we would see them a month or two after the release. For all of you toys r us fans, I have been to mine for the past three days and they said they will price match a compedetors printed add. So, find an add and take it to TRU if your lucky. That's great! Thanks! Also, I just thought about how there must be some people kicking themselves for buying those factory leaks from a couple weeks back! What do you mean?

What do you mean? Well, the sets are available now at Toys R Us, so it seems like a waste to get one fig (without proper accessories) just for the sake of a couple weeks early.

Well like I said, no toys r us in the south has them, I made them check. And for one, I'm not paying tru markup, which is equally dumb to buying them earlier than everyone else. I'm waiting because I will get 30% off at the lego store.

JackJonespaw Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 This is already in the LOTR thread, but I'm still excited and anxious to see how some of my favorite movies are done in Lego.
Etmerek Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 I'm very excited about these sets. Hope they'll get to Chile (my country) soon enough. Anyway, the real reason why i'm posting here is because I think the Frodo minifigure in Shelob's Lair should've been different. In fact I guess it should've been the same that comes with the Arriving of Gandalf set with the same "dark green" cape. Here's a picture of Frodo in that scene: Is weird that no one has realize that before, at least the creative team in lego should've come up with this idea right away.
CMP Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Is weird that no one has realize that before, at least the creative team in lego should've come up with this idea right away. I was thinking about it, but it looks too similar to Sam's in that set, just without the knapsack.
Dr.Cogg Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Target.com has the sets listed for wednesday including Orc Forge.
djmangunz Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 (edited) I was tooling around online for a few minutes about six this morning (thanks to a five am workout) and decided to give those cursed Target links to the LOTR sets, which have been dead for a week or so, another whirl. Much to my surprise they finally were live again! So I quickly ordered Helm's Deep, Mines of Moria, Uruk-Hai attack, and Gandalf arrives before they disappeared again. My confirmation e-mails said that they were slated to arrive at the end of the month. Great. However, later this afternoon I received a slew of additional e-mails which stated that the shipping date had been moved up and I should receive them by the 16th of this month at the latest. Happy day! And no bloody TRU mark up! Edited May 11, 2012 by djmangunz
Sirtank Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 I placed another order from Toys R us for Weathertop and one of the Monster fighter sets this afternoon from work. I didn't see the link for the Target pre-orders until after I got home, but I ordered Helms Deep, Orc Forge, and a second Uruk-Hai Army set from Target. I did get my Toys R us order from earlier this week, I'm just starting to build The Mines of Moria right now.
Walter Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Frodo's and Merry's torsos would be great as pirate-era civilian torsos, shame they have the flesh triangle on top. Pippin's and Sam's could work too, I guess. Is the back of Theoden's shield reddish brown or dark red? It clashes too much with the green. Dark brown would have been better. Heck that won't stop me from using them. Because of PoTC I have a good deal of flesh pirates now.
Omicron Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Also, I just thought about how there must be some people kicking themselves for buying those factory leaks from a couple weeks back! I'm not kicking myself. I really wanted that Legolas hair for my Zelda. :P -Omi
LRDark Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 I'm not kicking myself. I really wanted that Legolas hair for my Zelda. :P -Omi I'm jealous! I wish I didn't know I was getting the sets gifted to me so that I could've bought them when they first appeared How does it look on her? I can't imagine anything less than perfect. I really think they did a spot-on job with the new elf hair; I was worried, when this theme was still in speculation, that Legolas would have the regular Dumbledore mold.

They got Sam right in the set. And we already have Frodo in his jacket and vest in the Weathertop set. A repaint of the one in the Gandalf arrives set would do. We should have 3 different Frodo outfits this wave....especially since every Star Wars character gets a minifig for every little costume change.
Classicsmiley Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Could someone who has the Uruk-Hai Army set please let me know if the wood-grain tile piece is printed, or stickered? Thanks!

I would love to see some different looks to these characters in the future; I am quite thankful to have gotten two Three(?) different Frodo figs at least! Amazing -Omi Definitely spot-on
newwavejunkie Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 (edited) Aragorn should've gotten a different costume too for the Helms Deep set. Hopefully we'll get some more character variations next year. Sadly I think Helm's Deep is the only scene where Aragorn wears chainmail but yeah, hopefully we'll get some variations. I'm really not feeling the current Aragorn outfit. He looks a little too Indiana Jones-y to me. And I mentioned this in a previous post but I really feel Boromir should have black hands. He wore gloves most of the film and especially in Moria.
