Mr_Malfoy Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 I got a quick question: are the LOTR sets available to buy at Target stores and Walmart?
LEGOTR Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 I was just looking at the LEGO main site and noticed that ALL of the LOTR sets are on the top 25 best seller list. If that isn't an indicator of how well these sets will do I don't know what is. Even the $130 Helms deep is selling amazing.

Okay, that's been confirmed then - brace yourselves for 10 more waves of LOTR sets. I'm a bit confused why they added...flick-fire rocks(?) to the Weathertop set, but okay... I don't really care about play features in sets, but they should've had one involving the throwing of a torch at one of the Nazgûl in that set. Would've been better than flick-fire rocks, I suppose... ~ General Magma

HawkLord Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 I got a quick question: are the LOTR sets available to buy at Target stores and Walmart? I don't think they've been sighted at Target or Walmart stores yet, though I could be wrong. I've only heard Fred Meyers and TRU have them in store. Lego stores should be getting them in this week.
Darth Lurtz Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Do you think will get promotional minifigs like Star wars does?
General Magma Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Do you think will get promotional minifigs like Star wars does? There's a chance of that, especially if this becomes LEGO's next best seller. The superhero theme is already getting them and that's pretty much a major theme, so who knows... I'm not sure what they could use for promotional figures then, though, but some kind of special orc or something could work then.. As long as it's generic enough to have another version of in sets - but not stuff like Royal Guards of Rohan, otherwise they wouldn't be available in sets either. ~ General Magma

Mencot Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Do you think will get promotional minifigs like Star wars does? One could only guess that we will. Hope so
urukhai1991 Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 To have a good relation to the castle section, I'd like to have three Uruk-hai army sets. One (unchanged) directly adjacent to the castle wall. The drain part would go into the middle, and on the outside, I'd put another two Uruk-hai army wall sections (modified so they are flat rather than with the convex outpocket). Thats exactly what I am thinking. I think I am going to modify my sets to have a larger area on top to place archers ( 4 mini figs wide) , and maybe with a finished line at the back so archers dont just fall off

Evil Stu Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Do you think will get promotional minifigs like Star wars does? /me crosses fingers and chants "Translucent Frodo.. Translucent Frodo...."
Graysmith Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 /me crosses fingers and chants "Translucent Frodo.. Translucent Frodo...." Don't you mean "Chrome Gollum.. Chrome Gollum...."
Javert Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 I'd want a minifigure of Saruman for a promotional figure either that or he has to come out in the next wave!
Darth Lurtz Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 I'd want a minifigure of Saruman for a promotional figure either that or he has to come out in the next wave! Saruman is too valuable to Lego to be placed in a Polybag. A promo figure would be something no one would have asked for. Examples of this are the Shadow Arf trooper and TC-14, as nice as they are, you could have never expected it.
Javert Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 How about a Theoden without creepy pedo smile. or LEGOlas with an open mouth expression and a soundchip which allows him to say: THEY'RE TAKING THE HOBBITS TO ISENGARD!
K-Nut Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 A good thing that (unlike Harry Potter) is that TLG shouldn't have to make promo fig based off the title character. I know that I'd like to have a king Aragorn minifig or possibly a Bilbo? I doubt they would do one of the more minor characters like one of the Dwarves, but maybe a Sauron?
Iron-Man Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 A promo figure would be something no one would have asked for. My guess would be Arwen then...she is pretty much worthless to me
Darth Lurtz Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 My guess would be Arwen then...she is pretty much worthless to me Arwen wasn't in the movies much and only has one chase sequence, so Lego making a figure of her will be hard to do. The only Female character that has a good chance of becoming a minifigure is Eowyn.
purpleparadox Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 A promo figure would be something no one would have asked for. My guess would be Arwen then...she is pretty much worthless to me Maybe some sort of minifig version of an Ent? If they can do it with the Hulk...
Darth Lurtz Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Maybe some sort of minifig version of an Ent? If they can do it with the Hulk... I doubt it but it would be cool, You could use it as an infant.
Artanis I Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 I doubt it but it would be cool, You could use it as an infant. An enting? But there haven't been any entings for a looong loooong time...

wesker Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 What about Galadriel with her water-dish/mirror-thingy? She will be appearing in both Hobbit films so that does increase her chances.
