I'd say (Or hope), a minifig of Sauron in human-ish form? :cry_happy:

But I'd say an old Bilbo would also be quite likely.

Let's just hope that those aren't just given away at American comi-cons this time! :hmpf_bad:

Here's another in-depth review of the Gandalf Arrives set. This theme is SO MUCH FUN!!! I am seriously in love. I haven't felt this way about a LEGO theme since the glory days of LEGO Star Wars! :classic:

I'm concerned that we haven't heard anything about a second assortment yet, though. There's so many sets that seem like they should be a given, like an Eye of Sauron, Wall of Mordor, Isengard, Rivendell, Lothlorien, and even some sets with ENTS!!

The promotional fig should be: Old Bilbo!!!! :cry_happy: It would be awesome.

I reckon we'd see him in a set somewhere, later on..

We might not see sets for 'The Last Alliance' (although I hope we will, it's just a bit doubtful), so perhaps they could do several promo figs in a row.

This would only work if we wouldn't get a Last Alliance set, but they could do a minifig of Sauron in full armor (large figure like Toy Story), Elrond in armor,

and an armored elf to go along with them. (I hope the elf would be easiest to get if they did this, so having multiples would be very possible)

Would still prefer a set, though this could work for promo figures. If not, then perhaps different variations of other figures. (Haradrim, orcs, Rohirrim, name 'em..)

Maybe Lego will be really out their and make a figure of Peter Jackson as a promo , they did something similar with George Lucas. As for The last Alliance, I can see them making a figure of Sauron but nothing else unfortunately.

I got a quick question: are the LOTR sets available to buy at Target stores and Walmart?

I saw some of the sets at Wal-Mart yesterday morning. They should be trickling out soon, if not already.

Lego has never made an official George Lucas minifigure...yet. That's still on my most wanted list.

I'd love Elrond and Gil-galad (the elf king with the spear fighting next to Elrond in the move) as minifigs!

With a second face-print, of his 'Gollum face' when he asks for the ring back from Frodo!

They did have one in the back of the LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary book, which is what I meant.

I can see Elrond as a possibility, but seeing as Gil-Galad was in the film for about a second and was never named or focused on, I sincerely doubt the possibility of him as a promo fig.

TC-14 never had lots of screen time either in TPM, nor has there ever been an actual Shadow ARF trooper as far as I know,

so the possibility could still be there, although a bit doubtful - but still.

I picked up Shelob Attacks and Gandalf Arrives at TRU yesterday - they're amazing sets and the minifigs are fantastic!

I ordered those same sets from S@H for the Hulk promo. I will agree, those are two great starting sets for the theme. I'm sure they will set a great tone for the rest of the theme, for years to come!

I especially love Gollum which is very surprising to me.

If we are talking promotional minifigures, there is none more perfect than Tom Bombadil. Of course, Peter Jackson decided to omit Tom from the movies completely, so those who have never read the books (the large majority of LoTR fans IMO) would have no idea who he is. I would love to see him in his blue outfit and hat. Of course, I'm also pretty sure LEGO's LoTR license only covers characters and events that were depicted in the films.

Grrr... Us in the UK still have to wait 11 days before these come out! :sing:

I'm trying my best to ignore all these multiple reviews coming up, and somehow add £200 to my Lego fund! I want a completely fresh view on these sets but I couldn't help watching some of ArtiFex's animated reviews (Serious spoilers, those- but they only make me more excited!)

Also, on the theme of promotional figs, I would also love to see a Tom Bombadil one, though that'd be very unlikely, but I'd also love to get the Sword that was Broken (Not sure where to capitalise there), so we needn't ruin our re-forged ones (Which I'm guessing we'll get, from those promotional posters)!

You're lucky compared to us Dutch people. :cry_sad:

There's a chance that we'll have to wait til July..

Also, a Tom Bombadil figure isn't going to happen, I tell you now..

Now that I have both Gandalf Arrives and Shelob Attacks in my possession, I must say the minifigs are top notch quality! The print is crisp and there's no blur anywhere on the minifigs faces. Some of the best minifigs quality-wise TLG has produced.

Where can I find the prices of all of the sets for the UK? I tried Google but could not find anything.

Brickset reckons the prices will be something like this:

9470 Shelob Attacks will be =£19.99

9473 The Mines of Moria will be =£69.99

9474 The Battle of Helm's Deep will be =£99.99

9476 The Orc Forge will be =£39.99

9469 Gandalf Arrives will be =£11.99

9472 Attack on Weathertop =£49.99

Seems pretty reasonable to me for Licensed sets!

I got a reply from LEGO's twitter account. They expect sets to be in Australian stores "mid to late June". :) My question about prices was not answered.
