Legonardo Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 (edited) Here's the picture but no i don't, I'm using all but one for parts... I'm building the minifig scale helms deep... Only thing stopping me from working on HD is : Do I want to make the keep's curved walls out of a million 1x2's, or do I want to use hinges like in the official set to get the curved effects. I would go for the million 1x2s, the look muck nicer. looking forward to more updates! Edited May 23, 2012 by Legonardo Davidy
Lynx Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Good news! I'd post the screenshot but don't have a flickr or photo bucket account and can't see an option to upload the pic from my computer. So I'll just quote: "Name of Facebook user" It´s shamful of Lego to exclude all female characters from the lotr launch. Like · · 13 hours ago 4 people like this. Official response LEGO Hi "Name", this is the first launch of LEGO Lord of the Rings, focusing on the main Fellowship as well as a few enemy characters from the scenes the sets are based on. There will be female characters in sets that will launch later this year. This makes me happy! Hoping for Eowyn to complement the Rohirrim and Arwen to complement Aragorn. :)

I can't wait to see the second wave! It's time to start wondering. This kind of makes me want to ask Lego some questions of my own... What Facebook page was this on?

(From the Hobbit)

CMP Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Very interesting indeed. I can't wait to see what all of this might entail, exactly.

Philip Robin Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Is this forum open to Hobbit speculation and wishes or is it reserved to LOTR?
Lynx Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Is this forum open to Hobbit speculation and wishes or is it reserved to LOTR? For what it's worth: I'd vote YES. The two belong together just like Star Wars I-III belong together with Star Wars IV-VI.

Philip Robin Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 I agree, The Hobbit has been discussed in this thread aplenty, anyway. Alright. I'm really hoping for some wood elves! Then again, I'll have to see how they're depicted in the film. If they're anything like Legolas and the army of Lorien, this is definitely my go-to idea for a set. (Thranduil's hall, anyone?) I have almost no doubt that something about Mirkwood will be depicted in Lego form.
Bilbo Baggins Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Can we assume we are getting another LOTR wave?
Fives Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Can we assume we are getting another LOTR wave? I would say that is very likely. I doubt LEGO would get the license for this theme and then not milk it for everything it's worth. I could see maybe three or four more waves of LOTR before its over.

The reason they produced LotR is because of the Hobbit coming out and with all that hype, we'll get a wave or two from those movies.
Cammo Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Really nice picture of the Shelob Set. Can't wait for the release of the sets because of this
Bilbo Baggins Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 When do you think we'll get news about The Hobbit sets?
Graysmith Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Re: The Hobbit As someone who hasn't read The Hobbit and is greatly looking forward to seeing the films unspoiled I would prefer it if this thread wasn't littered with spoilers for The Hobbit. Couldn't there be a "Rumor and Speculation about The Hobbit sets" thread started instead, where spoilers could be freely discussed?

Sorry, I'll try my best not to spoil anything!
TeufelHund Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 The two belong together just like Star Wars I-III belong together with Star Wars IV-VI. So they're not very compatible then in your opinion?
Artanis I Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Re: The Hobbit As someone who hasn't read The Hobbit and is greatly looking forward to seeing the films unspoiled I would prefer it if this thread wasn't littered with spoilers for The Hobbit. Couldn't there be a "Rumor and Speculation about The Hobbit sets" thread started instead, where spoilers could be freely discussed? Wow, someone else. I like to watch the movie before I've read the book, that way I enjoy both. I did this with LOTR, and intend to do it with The Hobbit too. As such I have been avoiding movie (and book) spoilers like the plague. Of course I have a vague idea of what happens, but don't want to know any details!
