purpleparadox Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Not all Walmarts. Mine still lacks any of the summer sets... All mine's got is the NRG Ninjago figs. That's not a complaint though! The NRG figs are some of my all-time favourites!
SirBlake Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 (edited) Only two LOTR sets at my local wally. Gandalf and Uruk-Hai, and they're in the middle of the LEGO aisle. Not complaining though. Edited May 30, 2012 by SirBlake
Niku Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 (edited) UPDATE ON LEGO.COM! Ork forge this time Edit> I recognize the designer, if I am not wrong he also took part on making MMV. I really want to see who made Uruk Hai Army and Helms Deep. Edited May 30, 2012 by Niku
Stiel Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 (edited) The tattooed guy made a fun presentation, now I am leaning towards getting Orc Forge too. I love all the features, the accessories and the minifigs, too. Edit: this set doesn't have it easy, because it's closest to Uruk-Hai Army in my mind, which is tough competition. But 1 box of Orc Forge still seems to be worth it (along multiple Uruk-Hai Army sets). Edited May 30, 2012 by Stiel
Flobnomdob Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 (edited) One small request here... Has anyone still got any of the original prelim images? I don't remember what they look like and would like to compare them to the sets now. The Youtube video got blocked so I can't find them anywhere. Also, I'm very annoyed that we in the UK have to wait what looks to be two or three months before we get any of these sets! At least we have the Team GB figs! Edited May 30, 2012 by Flobnomdob
Philip Robin Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Just picked up Shelob Attacks from TRU! All I need now is Aragorn, Gandalf and Merry to complete the Fellowship. On an unrelated note, has anyone noticed that Gandalf's hat seems to be blue in the video game teaser on the box back? In the books he wears a blue hat. What do you think this could mean?
KristofBD Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Love the video! This guy really enjoyed being part of the designing team... Definitively makes the set grow on me.

The Video game is just doing their version of Gandalf which is more accurate to the book.
prozac Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 At least we have the Team GB figs! you can keep your Team GB figs...I'm perfectly happy with my LOTR sets :-P
Bilbo Baggins Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 The designer really convinced me on the Org Forge set, specially since he was the one that designed Diagon Alley 10217.

HawkLord Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Just got the Weathertop set in the mail with Frodo poster and the Hulk minifigure from Lego's site. Haven't had a chance to build it yet, but everything looks amazing. I spent alot of time looking over the horses and they are such a great update without being too advanced - meaning they still keep the Lego look. I like how the head and legs click into place when you rotate them, it seems like they'd be more stable that way. I was surprised that this set comes with a brick separator - I've only ever bought Star Wars, Harry Potter, some City, and some Castle sets, but never found one that had a brick separator with it. I also like the extra hole in the Ringwraith's cape to help it fold around their shoulders better. Hopefully, I'll have time later tonight to build it. The poster is huge. I hadn't expected something like a full poster; I just thought it'd be a mini-poster maybe just twelve inches square or something. This is actually full-sized. Apparently, it's numbered, but mine is partly smudged and not a low number anyway.
Flobnomdob Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 you can keep your Team GB figs...I'm perfectly happy with my LOTR sets :-P The thing I've got to say is- why should the rest of the world (Even Denmark) have to wait while you Americans have already had these sets for months? I'd buy all the LOTR sets now if I could, but seeing as I can't, the Team GB 'figs will have to make do for now. (Though not as replacement LOTR 'figs )

(Though not as replacement LOTR 'figs ) Well, us Americans have to wait for the Star Wars sets while I believe many have already been released in Europe. Not that I mind
Cammo Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 I found this video showing a . It really looks neat, it looks like an official set
Philip Robin Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 (edited) I found this video showing a . It really looks neat, it looks like an official set The link isn't working. Is it working for you guys? It may just be my connection... Edited May 31, 2012 by Philip Robin
The_Chosen_1 Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 The link's working for me... Anyway, that is an impressive MOC. I agree that it does look like it has the makings of an official set, although I hope the inevitable official Bag End set is a bit larger.
Artifex Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Sorry, but I couldn't find an answer to the this question using the forum's tools. So, do we have confirmation from Lego -- or from someone at the Embassy -- that there will be battlepacks for The Lord of the Rings? If so, then when? Christmas maybe? On the side: when will the LotR sets be released in the UK?
into the blue Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 On the side: when will the LotR sets be released in the UK? I asked at my local Toys R Us and they said July/August. They couldn't be more specific than that. A phone call to my nearest Lego store came up with "July sometime."
Cammo Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 I heard from several people stating (UK,Holland,France,Germany) that the 'official release' is in August. But as with all the releases, I think they will be available halfway July.
Moexy Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 The LOTR sets are already available in Bosnia, that's Europe. Hopefully we in West Europe will get them soon too

(Though not as replacement LOTR 'figs ) Yeah, I'm pretty pissed that LEGO didn't launch these first-ever LOTR sets everywhere at the same time. This is perhaps the biggest license since Star Wars, and from what I've heard they won't be out for another TWO MONTHS where I live. That's just utterly ridiculous.
