I thought it was only exclusive to Target stores - but that does make sense that it'd be at Lego stores. Yes, Oregon does have a Lego store, I'll have to stop by.

I picked up one at the Lego store in Downtown Disney about 10 days ago. and saw one at my local Target (Charleston, SC) last week.

Both were the MSRP.

Does anybody knows if the Orc Forge will be available in countries without Targets and LEGO stores?

Just picked it up from Big W in Australia. Target didn't have it, and we don't have a LEGO store. The Australian box does not have the "HARD TO FIND" label on it. So you should be alright. :)

For any Australian* (like me) who does not have a Big W nearby (still - after 10+ years of development planning setbacks), the 9476 Orc Forge set is currently available from their website for $64 (RRP $70), the same price it will be at the sale next week. It does not qualify for free postage, however you only have to pay (cheap) postage for 1, if you buy 2+ the charge is the same. That said, when I went through checkout I got a mystery "SHIPPING_DISCOUNT" that removed the postage charge anyway. Unlike S@H, your order is not sent from Denmark but Sydney, so it will arrive a lot quicker. They're also flexible with delivery instructions. So it's cheaper and faster than S@H.

The trick is to be incredibly patient, as the site is currently undergoing a lot of traffic. I got timed-out of the checkout process @20 times over 90 minutes and had to login again each time. So relieved when it finally went through!

* like Target USA, Big W do not sell overseas unfortunately.

Yep Big W have the SW exclusive too (9494). Good week for Aussie LEGO fans, as of tomorrow both Myer and Target have 20% off all LEGO, most stores seem to have the LOTR kit in stock.

Just ordered helms deep from MYER online at 20% off plus free shipping  beats paying the full quid thats for sure!

Folks, Barnes & Noble is running a great deal on three of the LOTR sets right now. I scored Weathertop for $41 shipped including taxes. I found the deal on a great Lego website called Toys N Bricks (not to take anything away from our beloved Eurobricks) which does an excellent job of highlighting Lego deals. Here is their breakdown of the sales.

Basically, Barnes & Nobles (a US retailer that ships worldwide at very reasonable rates) has 10% off three of the Lord of the Rings sets. Weathertop is the best deal at the moment as that set has been reduced by $10 to begin with already.

While the prices are nice with the small discount, it gets even better once you add coupon codes in. The only con is that you will need to place separate orders if ordering multiple sets as the codes only work on 1 item. Below are 8 coupon codes by forum members.

15% off Non-Member Codes: T4T8J4A, X4P8A3B, T4T8J4A, D7L8F8R (VISA)

20% off Member Codes L4L8R9C, B7D9E9W, V9N8W8R, H4V4K8D

Here’s the math and the price breakdown for members and non-members just so you can get an idea of how good of a deal your getting. Membership can be signed up for $25 a year. All prices are in USD.

Non-Member Prices After Coupon Applied

36.3% off – Attack on Weathertop $38.21 (reg.$59.99)

23.6% off – Battle of Helm’s Deep $99.41 (reg.$129.99)

23.56% off – Mines of Moria $61.16 (reg.$79.99)

Member Price After Coupon Applied

40% off – Attack on Weathertop $35.96 (reg.$59.99)

28% off – Battle of Helm’s Deep $93.56 (reg.$129.99)

28.05% off – Mines of Moria $57.56 (reg.$79.99)

BN Shipping Charges

United States (Non-Members): FREE Shipping on orders above $25

United States (Members): Free Express Shipping with no minimum

Canada: First Item $6.48, Additional Items $2.49 each

International: First Item $12.98, Additional Items $5.49 each

They also have great stuff that are discounted already like Superheroes The Batcave for $62.95 (reg.$69.99) and Batwing over Gotham City for $26.95 (reg.$34.99). More can be found on their LEGO Bestsellers List. Now do the math for yourself after applying the extra 15-20% off coupons!

Hit em up quick folks! Deals this good can't last. And of course all credit goes to Toys N Bricks! http://toysnbricks.com/

P.S. It would be great if folks could give us the heads-up on any LOTR sales they find here in this thread! I know we have a sales thread, but sometimes it is lacking a bit.

I am living in the UK and ordered the Weathertop set using this excellent deal, but this was the first time I ordered something outside of the UK. So I was just wondering if anyone else from the UK also ordered from this website, just so I can be reassured that it will all go smoothly when people start to receive their orders.

I ordered the Helms deep set and had it delivered express by UPS. Got it on the 2nd business day. Though had to pay a customs fee of £27 on delivery.

Being sick and bed-ridden, I have within 24 hours re-watched the extended editions of the LOTR trilogy... and by doing so I for the first time realized just how spot on most of these LEGO sets are. Much better than any other licensed theme I've seen. Impressive.

There's an entire topic already as to why this occurred. There's no reason to start a topic when there's an existing one. The Staff merely work hard to keep discussions together. How many threads do you want to sift through when you're searching for information on a topic?

For future reference, referring to people as "Gestapo" in such an off-handed manner is not a good idea. Especially when those people have the power to ban you. I realize you were trying to be funny but you're not succeeding, so don't do it again.

Why threaten a member for a comment? Some may find it funny even though you do not. Is the term gestapo so damming that you are offended by it? Lighten up. This is a site about Lego and AFOLs. We're not children even though we all like childrens toys. This is a great site for sharing ideas, MOCs, and reviews yet it is more regulated than any other forum I'm a member of.

I'm of like mind and believe LOTR should be in Licensed themes but we wont try to argue that point anymore. Perhaps he wasn't aware that a lot of discussion had already occurred regarding this. Why not point him in the right direction instead of being so negative? Two wrongs don't make a right. Right?

Pardon me for being a little off-topic, but 'CorneliusMurdock' has a right to say what he said. Some people would be offended by such wording, and if I'm right I think it's in the rules of using this site too.

Back on topic, Lego must be on a winner....Helm's Deep's are starting to sell out in some Australian stores, Weathertops are selling well as well.

I hope BigW will have them in stock next Thursday so I can layby one.

It's not that the term gestapo is offensive, but the fact that he used it in an offensive way and meant it to be offensive.

Lets please try to get back on topic.

Thanks

Can anybody that has the Orc Forge set review it? It is the only set I'm not sure about getting

I built it last night, AWESOME build and the light up brick sets it off. Buy it if you can.....well worth it ! :sweet:

I want to love it, and there are certainly parts that I really like, such as the armor pieces with the white hand and Mordor orcs (though only including one hair piece is just plain cheap).

Also, it was fun to build, but as it sits there on my shelf, I just feel like I don't have that much use for it. Amongst castles, forest hideouts and farm buildings, it just looks like a bundle of sticks. This one might be the rare occasion that I dismantle a set for parts or at least to get it out of the way. I've even contemplated selling it and just keeping the minifigs.

I ordered through International Airmail, which has been estimated from 7 to 22 business days. I was just wondering whether I could get an estimation of how much I would have to pay for custom fees if I am ordering this from the USA to the UK? And if there is an instance where the package is lost, how can I get help seeing as this is through International Airmail and so I'm assuming meaning that there is no way to track it, even though I have a tracking number on my order but no idea where to input it.

Does anybody know anything as to whether the line is selling well globally? I haven't heard anything in quite a while and I really hope it doesn't turn out to be a flop like some of the other recent licensed themes.

Yes, the line is selling very well. I have talked to several Lego store employees and they all say that the line is selling almost as well as SW which, is a good sign. Give it another year and a release of the new Hobbit movie and I think Lego will have a blockbuster theme.

and this could be just a begginning; when they see how good this epic fantasy ganre is selling, maybe we could see more of armored fantasy creatures in CMFs :)

I just hope it sells really well, it would be really sad if the theme got discontinued.

I don't know what it's like in the rest of the world but they seem to be flying off the shelves in Australia. A lot of places are running out of the bigger sets pretty quickly.

I didn't know that i had to pay the customs fee in the first place. I was only told about this on delivery. The tracking number that i had was a UPS tracking number, and the UPS tracking service is quite good. I didn't wanna go through the stress of having to wait 22 days for it to reach here in the uk, so that why i went for express delivery.

I just finished watching the Fellowship again, and I was thinking that the Legolas figure doesn't look much like him. It's not the face or torso-- both look great. I think it's all in the hair. The hair doesn't really have the feel... It really needs the parts hanging over his shoulders, and more than anything, a quiver! It just doesn't look right without the quiver. (While I'm on this Legolas roll, I noticed that TLG not including a cape in Moria was not due to the hair but for film accuracy reasons. He doesn't wear a cape till after Lorien.)

Hes hair is all on the back quite a few times during action, wind and such and im not sure the hair piece would look that good if they needed to put hair over the shoulders, I do however think they should have made it the same color as malfoys hair, instead of yellow.
