If, and I say if, the Warg set be introduced... I am hoping not too many ionic characters will be in the set, so it will be a sort of battle box, as the Uruk Hai Army.

Wouldn't it be cool if it contains:

- Warg (or 2)

- 2 or 3 orcs

- Eagle

and one or 2 movie characters

I didn't think there were orcs in the warg scene in the first part of the book.

There were orcs, they came later and set the trees where heroes where hiding into fire. They also sang a song about fifteen birds on the five trees.

Solid set idea. I'd be in for a couple of these. These would be good sets to add in the lesser known (or smaller role) Dwarves, because it would help complete the Dwarf party without devoting too much to them.

I doubt there would be an eagle.

I might be buying multiples of this, as parts packs! All of the tiles look useful. The rest'll make for good landscaping. Thank you Lego! Oh, and thanks for posting the pic, Darth Hagrid.

If this has been mentioned before, I apologize for reposting it. If not.... http://images.wikia.com/lego/images/4/4d/PTRU1-13020288enh-z6.jpg

This actually belongs in the Boardgames thread. There's no need to repost it there since it's there now already. Please continue discussion of the game in that thread in the Special Themes Forum.

Also, please only deeplink pictures that are 800x600 pixels or smaller as per the Site Guidelines. Thank you.

Click for bigger image.

If that is Gloin, then both the use of that hairpiece and the design of the beard is abit dissapointing, there should be more "braid" things in the beard.

The only reason he would have that hairpice seperatly instead of a hair/beard piece in one, would be that at some point he will be wearing some other headwear(helmet?).

Either way he doesent look enough like his movie counterpart.

(I'm getting tired of the Dastan hair piece where is just kindof fits)

BTW: The map being part of the game... Does that mean it will be printed?

It was posted on the previous page, aswell as quoted in the post before mine

It might be that the ginger dwarf is supposed to be some generic dwarf.

The hair I guess is what Kili will use, the mustace is an awfull lot like Bombur, the side mustache "braids" looks like Gloin and the beard part's shape looks like Balin

I hope this is the case, but if it isn't it will be Gloin out of the 13.

EDIT: I am 99% sure that is some generic dwarf compiled of other dwarves.

So, it's been awhile since I've watched the series. What does 9476 Orc Forge represent?

Underneath Isengard when Saruman gets his orcs to pull down the forest and "build an army worthy of Mordor". They forge heaps of weapons and create uruk-hai. Shown mostly in the 1st movie (completely flooded at the end of the 2nd)

As long as the Warg is pose-able like the new horse and have a part for a saddle and that would be sweet. Can do one of my favourite scenes from the TT the Warg rider battle.

Does anyone notice the impossible connection between the hobbit-hole roof and the dwarf picture underneath? Could be a new part... :oh:

Are you talking about the upside-down tiles, tiles with studs on top? Those debuted and are currently exclusive to the Ninjago Samurai Mech.

Heads up for UK readers: Just had verbal confirmation that the LOTR sets will be onsale in official Lego Stores tomorrow (Saturday July 21st). I know limited stocks have been available from Argos UK for some weeks now, but of course Lego Store purchases have the advantage of the 5% VIP points discount - and the 10% off voucher you should have received on your VIP members mag. So maybe worth a visit this weekend.

I don't recall seeing this mentioned anywhere, but the URL thehobbit.lego.com is now live. It's just a teaser site for now, but still pretty neat!

Thanks! Nice seeing them using the image of a real minifigure. Hopefully this means it won't be horrible long uintill we get some new news!

I'm guessing we'll get the poster recreation they had as a mosaic at comic con.

Maybe they will unveil the character posters that were at SDCC as well. We could end up seeing all the dwarves that way.

Would be great, but I'm not sure it would have the same effect. The lotr posters were somewhat iconic.

I would prefer to see the real minifigures first so we don't have to speculate whats a new mold and wahts just made for the cg poster
