Yeah! Picked up Shelob Attacks yesterday finally! Blew all my other money on pick a brick and swamp monster though!

While that secondary face does suit him for the scene in ROTK where he stabs the Witch-king of Angmar,

the primary face should be a bit more serious for the next Merry figure - right now you can only have him smiling or show him with his mouth wide open.

But other than that, yeah, they did a great job on the alternate faces. Let's hope we'll see more variations soon.

I actually think they did a good job on all of the alternate faces, except for two. Legolas's angry face doesn't really suit him since his mouth is open. It would have been better if he looked angry but had his mouth closed. And Théoden's happy face just looks too happy. His angry face is perfect, but they should have gone with something more like Borormir's face for the other one. It would have suited Théoden better since he never really smiles that much.

The next and final chapter of the LEGO LOTR miniseries is here:

It's a shame they didn't use it as an opportunity for a Minas Tirith teaser,

or any other future set for that matter. But oh well, the video game should give us some of that.

Yeah, I was referring to the Hobbits since that's what he was talking about - but those two faces are the only issues I have with the alternate faces as well.

Théoden should come in another set in the future with an angry and a serious face.

Gollum and Boromir survive, and they show that stupid clown again

But that's expected when (in the Helm's Deep animation) the Berserker blows up the wall and survives

Still no sign of any shop in the UK making these prices reasonable.

We still have to pay around

33% more on Uruk-Hai Army,

30% more on the Mines,

25% more on Weathertop, Orc Forge and Shelob and

15% more on Helm's Deep (Making it £100 rather than £80)

Luckily, though, Gandalf Arrives is almost equal to my calculated prices converted from US $.

BUT, it's out of stock everywhere apart from S@H, with added postage prices. Seeing as I live rather remotely from places like TRU or a proper Argos, especially an actual LEGO shop, getting new sets on time is harder here.

I've sent a complaint to TLG, I hope it makes a a difference.

EDIT: I love those animations! But it is really weird with Boromir. It seems as if they wrapped the 1st film up in two episodes, and the other 1 and a half (More happened in the Two Towers than Helm's Deep) in two episodes. It's really quite weird.

I guess they just wanted to show the most important things along with the things they made sets of.

I would've preferred to see everything, from Minas Tirith to Pelennor Fields and from there to the Black Gate, along with more things in the Two Towers ones,

but oh well - we'll still have the video game for that. Judging by some cutscenes, I'm quite sure they'll stick to the actual thing there for most part,

while tossing in a few jokes. You do see dead cave trolls and Moria orcs in the game (yes, bodies), something they seemed to have tried to avoid in the miniseries,

so Boromir won't be safe this time.

They'll most likely have Lurtz pop him into the assorted minifig parts or something else ridiculous-- not that I'm complaining!

I'll wager they'll do the Boromir/Lurtz/Aragorn scene EXACTLY like Qui-Gon Jinn/Darth Maul/Obi-Wan scene in Lego Star Wars 1. Think about it - the scenes play out very similar. Bad guy kills good guy B in a non-humorous way, good guy A comes in and slices bad guy into his minifig parts, good guy A talks with dying good guy B in his final moments.

Substitute Darth Maul's sliced torso with Lurtz' sliced arm + head.

That's what I was thinking. Boromir's death seems too important to make silly. Lurtz's death can be viewed in a lighter way since he actually has parts taken off, so it could be funny.

That, and if I recall correctly from the videos, the cave troll died in the same way it did in the movie.

I guess Boromir would be shot and collapse after that one shot in the game, but it would be nice if they did it more similarly to the movie,

so either something where you have to keep fighting Uruk-hai (but become weaker) after each shot, until the last one, or just play as Boromir,

fight off the Uruk-hai and then end up with a cutscene of Boromir being shot three times (one arrow at a time... for movie accuracy), leading to Lurtz preparing

to fire his last arrow only to be interrupted by Aragorn, leading to the boss fight.

It would be great if all the things were just the same as in the movies with a few typical LEGO jokes throughout.

Can't wait for the next trailer of the game, hope we'll see it soon.

Do we know when the video game comes out for this?

This October.

The last (and first) trailer we got was on June the 1st,

I normally expect second trailers for LEGO games about one and a half to two months after the first one, so hopefully we'll see it soon.

I bought shelob attack's from argos yestarday. I am surprised they were available in argos the same day they first became available on the lego website. Either stocks are low or lots of people are buying them, because I got there early and there was only 1 shelob's attack left.

I wish people would stop discussing purchases and availability so much in this tread, it's not that long ago someone made a topic/tread for that purpose.

And it was closed shortly after because we can just use this topic. If there's actually any news or rumors, you'll know, the next time you check there'll be 4 pages of people discussing it, like Bag End.

What do you mean it was closed? The thread is still open and very much alive. In fact people posting in this thread about their recent purchase also posted nearly identical posts in that thread about them.

That's not the thread he's referring to. I started a thread exclusively for talking about availability of the sets (release dates, prices, etc), but it was closed because it is believed that those sorts of things can be discussed here. I disagree, since it muddies up this thread and makes it look like there could be news but it's just a post about someone finding Shelob Attacks at a store in the UK.

Well that thread can be used for the same purposes, can't it? They are close enough? I see a lot of people just talking about their recent purchases in this thread and that definetly could go in the other thread. Dunno about prices and availability so much...

Just built 9473 Mines of Moria and I got a good little chuckle out of Gimli having a double sided head. I suppose as for MOCing goes, it's good. But having a mad face doesn't do much good when you have a big bushy beard in the way.

Has it been confirmed if we are getting anything with a of the Lego LOTR videogame, I hope it is an exclusive :cry_happy:

Not yet, but I'm 80% sure we'll get something. Maybe a Sauron figure?

I really hope we don't get Sauron as an exclusive with the video game, unless it's some kind of variant. I'm not really sold on buying the video game yet and would hate to have to spend 50 bucks just to get such an important minifigure.

Well, it'd sure beat having only 150 of them made, and being forced to get him at some convention where they show up on eBay shortly after for $100 a pop. *points to Super Heroes debacle *
