Philip Robin Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Are you sure silver is the color its supposed to be? Both of mine are silver.
SheepEater Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Are you sure silver is the color its supposed to be? Why would they bother printing silver at all on some torsos if the intended color is gray? This is reminding me of the nightmare of buying a 8285 set in summer of 2007 all over again and calling Lego multiple times. (For you non-technic guys, 8285 Tow Truck was the flagship set of 2006 and mid-run they decided to change all chrome silver parts to gray for the newer batch. I WAS not happy about that, but eventually, after long time, got all the silver parts I wanted).
Vindicare Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 My Weathertop set came with one Nazgul with a shiny silver buckle printed on his torso but the other one was plain gray. I called Lego, but the replacement that came in was the same dull gray as before. What are your experiences on this? And what should I tell Lego customer service the next time I call them? Obviously there's no communication between the customer service people on the phone and the guys who pack the parts in bags. Why is it even a big deal? So a tiny buckle isn't shiny...I would recommend not calling TLG for yet another torso.
SheepEater Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) Why is it even a big deal? Because I paid $74.99 plus tax for that tiny set whose main selling points are the two Nazgul minifigs + horses, and Meriadoc Brandybuck. And because I am a grown man obsessed with plastic toys made for kids. Edited July 24, 2012 by SheepEater
Spider-Man Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Nice response, debate over! Haha But I would suggest saying that you will send the one back that they sent you as long as they ship you a new one. I don't think they would have a problem that as long as they are getting their other torso back?

I don't think they would have a problem that as long as they are getting their other torso back? In my own experience they have never asked for their parts in the past, but if they do, I hope they'll pay for shipment; but doing, so they'll lose money. I remember sending back an entire set to get my money back (Mindstorms vision command). They didn't even wait for the set to come back to refund my money.
Deathleech Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Can you take a pic of the silver and gray belt buckle torsos side by side for comparison? Both my Nazgul I received were the same but I am interested in seeing the difference.
Niku Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) Hi again, I want to share another video related to the LOTR where we can see the use of the new minifigs in excellent scenarios. Enjoy. Edited July 24, 2012 by Niku
purpleparadox Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 For all of you who're desperate for the Uruk-Hai polybag: here, looks like the Sun polybag promotion's gonna include it! Man, I wish we got that promo here in Canada.
King of Nynrah Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) Does anyone know if there will be any more The Lord of the Rings sets after this wave? I see a possible space for something after the first part of The Hobbit is released this year (along with its respective sets), and before the second part comes out December next year. I see a possible space for something after the first part of The Hobbit is released this year (along with its respective sets), and before the second part comes out December next year. I would think they might release another wave near the holidays (maybe not), but even if they don't that's still two this year; I don't see any reason why we wouldn't get at least two next year (between the two movies), and then I wouldn't be surprised to see at least one more after that, if not two or more. And I wouldn't be surprised if they ended it with a bang, like they did with Kingdoms (Joust) and Harry Potter (Diagon Alley), but of course it's all speculation at this point. However, it would seem pretty dumb to not get at least two more waves next year.

My source at a local LEGO store revealed that the license for Lord of the Rings is for the next four years, with two waves per year - when questioned, he confirmed that the line is not planned to mimic the quick demise of Pirates of the Caribbean and Indiana Jones.

It might end before the 4 years are done tho. depending on the success. they have already confirmed hobbit sets from the 2. movie so that would already be way more than potc got. potch had one wave + 1 set lort/hobbit already has 2 waves with atleast one more in 2013. with it being super likely that another lotr wave will show up next year that would make it for waves btween lotr and hobbit. Then anything post that depends on the success! when you/he/she said next four years, does it mean 5 year total? including 2012? Edited July 24, 2012 by deskp

If we get a 3rd Hobbit movie, it could run longer if sales hold. My source said that the Helm's Deep and Mines of Moria kits were quite successful and in "the top 10" sellers.
SheepEater Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Shelob Attacks is a good seller, too. There's a book/toy shop chain store in Canada called Renaud Bray and the one in my street had LOTR sets for only 2 weeks and already ran out of Shelob's.
Omicron Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Not sure if this was posted, but I looked back a few pages and couldn't find anything. My good friend who works at manager level of Gamestop recieved info of upcoming preorder information, and one of them involved the Lego LoTR game and its preorder bonus. It is going to be a Gandalf the White figure. -Omi
Spider-Man Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 That is kind of surprising? I would thing Gandalf the White would be included in some set down the road?
Omicron Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 That is kind of surprising? I would thing Gandalf the White would be included in some set down the road? All depends on how they make him I guess, but we don't know what Lego has in mind for LoTR next year. Who knows, could be all Hobbit sets and a few LoTR sets with other characters that haven't been made yet. -Omi
King of Nynrah Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 The news on Gandalf the White is good, as I was going to pre-order the game anyway. It's strange that he's not intended to be included in a future set though... just like the Lex promo for LEGO Batman 2.
Fives Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 I'm not gonna complain about the news of theGandalf the White fig. I'll definitely need to pre-order this game! Sure, he may not come in a set within the next year because of this, but at least he'll be available rather soon!
deskp Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 The preorder bonuses doesent have to be exclusive, just look at harry potter!
CorneliusMurdock Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Aw, man. Not having a current gaming console sucks. Can't preorder something for an awesome fig without having something to play it on. I'm as disappointed about that as the Lex preorder. But it seems unlikely that we'd never see a Gandalf the White fig in a set. There's two entire movies full of scenes that he'd be included in. And let's face it, him and Pippin riding Shadowfax to Minas Tirith would be a great set with some scenery thrown in.
Ceroknight Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Gandalf the White! I never buy games when they come out because they are overpriced, but I may this time
Pulp Detective Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Well l was planning to pre-order it,but now l sure l will, and l hope lego will make more lotr sets at the future.
