Wouldn't those prices be cheaper in retail stores like Dreamland? they are pricy tho! *oh2*

Maybe tommorrow they are available in stores (august 1st release date?)

I went to the shop today (Roeselare) and they had nothing on the shelves. (Although reading the guy's face, they probably have it in stock but won't sell them.) There's a big chance they are available tomorrow.

They are available (LOTR and MF) at the online shop of Dreamland (Belgian Retailstore).

Got Shelob's lair in Bart Smit, but it was more expensive than S@H prices. They have all the sets (minus orc forge) for about 2 euro's above retails price.

Ok, same price then. But looks like they also have no Orc Forge :sceptic:

This is a two legged post. I just read here about The Hobbit being stretched into three movies.

I still don't know what to think about it. I rather have it split in two (as it was) and then a third one about the Appendixes, but we will see how it will turn out.

It's good for the LEGO line though! I'm quite curious with the sets the will come up with.

And about the LotR releases in The Netherlands, I also haven't spotted them in real live, probably tomorrow.

But I saw A-tembo in Delft has them for pretty good prices! (around 20% below S@H prices), it's worth a trip if you live nearby. They also sell Orc Forge.

Here are my guesses:

1) The first movie will be a pretty straightforward retelling of Chapters 1-9 (“Barrels Out of Bond”) of The Hobbit proper, mostly if not completely told from Bilbo’s point of view, with very little White Council business. Plenty of dwarvish buffoonery, of course.

2) The second movie will be a Gandalf-centric movie that advances the story of The Hobbit proper very little (we probably get our first glimpse of Smaug), and is based mainly on “The Quest of Erebor.” It goes back in time to show Gandalf snooping around Dol Guldur and getting the map and the key from Thrain; meeting with Thorin to convince him to take Bilbo; then back to the present for some Lorien business, and climax with a big “Battle of Dol Guldur.”

3) The third movie finishes up The Hobbit with all the Smaug business, the Battle of Five Armies, and the return journey. Padded with plenty of inner angst for Bard, a love triangle between Legolas, Kili, and Tauriel, etc.

Note how this parallels the LOTR movies. Dol Guldur is analogous to Helm’s Deep, etc.

Last time I will post something concerning the release date in the Benelux. (Because I know it can be quite irritating for other members to hope and see an interesting post and all they get is some retail-release date of a particular country. )

Those who live in the Benelux: www.bol.com has good prices. Cheaper than the official Lego onlineshop and most retail stores in Belgium and The Netherlands. (Cheaper than Bart Smit, Dreamland, Fun, etc.) So for those eager to buy the sets early on. check out the website.

I already ordered Shelob & Mines of Moria.

They will arrive tomorrow (14 hours from now) Finally the wait is over. After 2.5 months delay :sweet:

Makes sense. I only disagree about the possibility of a romance involving Tauriel.

BTW we should probably be discussing this in the proper topic in the Culture & Multimedia forum.

I really doubt that TLG won't produce the Elrond minifigure, why would they have a picture in the webpage if they won't. It would have been great if they had show it at SDCC though.

Here is my contribution for Lego LOTR

1.I have to debate the exclusive fig being Gandalf it is more probable to be saruman. He is only in isengard or the orc forge now unless they make Isengard we will miss out on him but Gandalf is in Minas Tirith and other scenes,it is easy to mix them up.

2.The next Lotr wave may be in January or the Hobbit might count for that. Also it probably will get a Gondor set, Osigiliath seems easier to make.

3.The barrels set will probably be the exclusive set and will probably include the 2 dwarves we saw at SDCC that were not in BAGEND

4.Set prices

79000 Mystery of the Ring

will be similar to Gandalf arrives

Gollum and Bilbo 12.99USD

Warg attack

Same price as weathertop

probably including 2 Wargs and gandalf

79001 Fleeing from the Mirkwood Spiders

30 USD includes Bilbo and spiders.

79010 The Orc King

Orc King

Bilbo Baggins

Gandalf the Grey

100USD/140 AUD

Barrels set

2 dwarves Bilbo and elf guards

60 USD

Note most of this is confirmed but the figs for the spider set and the barrel sets are guesses

I think that all Hobbit sets will have the same price points as LOTR sets and have the same minifig amounts.

Wait, so is this confirmed?

79001 Fleeing from the Mirkwood Spiders

30 USD includes Bilbo and spiders.

I saw this on that German retail site and I doughnut think much people will get this one, as it has only one figure... :sadnew:

No no no, nothing except bag end is really confirmed.

I expect they are real, but lego hasn't said anything.

I was just thinking about the Uruk Hai polybag. I know it's in the Sun some time in October, and that only costs 50p! So you could have 10 Uruk for £5!!! :sweet:

I know! It takes 3000 pounds to get 10000 , though :D

Orthanc has already been developed by Lego (at least in part) so that might see the light of day sometime. Saruman is also in White Council scenes in The Hobbit, so we could see him pop up there. But I agree that he would be more likely than Gandalf the White. I hope that if these figures do get released that they have different beard molds. The main differences between the two are beard length, eyebrow colour and staff. I'd like Gandalf the White to have a beard similar to Brickforge's Sage Beard.

I think it's unlikely that we would get a second Hobbit wave, more likely we get another LOTR wave, with The Hobbit sets coming out in time for film two. It's possible that we could have Minas Tirith as the largest set, with an Osgiliath set acting as a Uruk-Hai Attack sort of set, if they want to continue in the same way.

I hope if the Barrel set was to be an exclusive they would not have exclusive dwarves to the set. One of the best things about the first LOTR wave is that every member of the fellowship was present. I hope that in the first Hobbit wave we get the other seven dwarves to go with Bilbo, Gandalf, Thorin, Balin, Dwalin, Bofur, Bombur and Nori

Truth to be told there are lots of sites with set numbers and names related to the Hobbit wave, but for all we know this may only be pure speculation from this websites.

I don't know how small toy shops are where you live, but here in Canada they all ******* suck. They almost never have a good Lego selection, it's always the recent sets (so NO HOPE ever of finding an old, rarer gem), and the prices are always high. No wonder TRU can get away with their prices.

I saw one on Monday selling Helm's Deep for $190. That's $10 more than toysrus.ca, and $20 more than S@H canada. When I told the shopkeeper I got mine for $80 her eyes almost got out of her eyesockets.

The more I'm knowledgeable about Lego prices in general, the more I'm letdown by mom&pop stores...

As much as TRU has a bad rap, they're the only toy store worth buying from in person in Canada, and only when they have a 20% sale (which makes it really a %10 sale when taking the TRU tax into account)

Other than that, Walmart is OK, I guess, when they have what I want. But they're a huge corporation. I'd love to give my support to smaller mom&pop stores, but darn it, either lower your prices or offer something larger chain stores don't! (ie older, rarer sets)

I completely agree with you. Luckily, I live only two hours north of the Fairview and Sherway LEGO stores, so I've gotten to the point where I only buy LEGO when I can get it from there. I never buy from TRU anymore, because I can't get VIP points from them or anywhere else other than LEGO itself. Anyway, this is really off topic.

I can't wait to see the Gandalf the White fig. I watched The Two Towers today, and for most of that movie, his hair is loose. But, in ROTK, he has his hair tied back. It got me thinking if they will have him with his hair tied or not. If its tied, they could just reuse the Will Turner hair but in white, or they could make a completely new piece. Also, does anyone else think that Shadowfax could be included as well? That way LEGO will have made Shadowfax, put it in an exclusive giveaway witch limits it's production, making it cheaper. And, it would just be awesome.

Does anyone know if there will be a way to get the Uruk-Hai poly if you live outside the U.K.? Besides having someone in the U.K. pick one up for you and send it out obviously? Everyone there complains about the prices of Lego (and more specifically LotR Lego), but at least you guys get a useful poly and for super cheap unlike us in the U.S.! (just kidding, I know it's no where near compensation but at least it's something right?)

As for Gandalf the White being the exclusive bonus or not, I find it a little hard to believe. He is just such a main part of the films and appears in 2 out of the 3 while Gandalf the Gray is only in the first one. I would think the exclusive would be some kind of lesser seen figure or costume. For example the coronation Aragorn as previously mentioned.

Lastly I have mixed feelings about there being three Hobbit films. It does seem weird one book is being made into three films, especially when three films were made of three seperate books for LotR. Even if the Hobbit does have the appendixes and such it still just seems a bit strange. On the other hand though, there was a TON of extended footage for the LotR films so I am guessing there won't be anywhere near as much for the Hobbit. It kind of makes me wish there would of been 6 LotR films... all well.

The preorder bonuses doesent have to be exclusive, just look at harry potter!

There was a preorder bonus for Harry Potter? What was it? I know the bonus for Years 5-7 was a t-shirt with "Dumbledore's Army" and Minifigure hands holding wands on the bottom. Even though I preordered it I never got the shirt. :cry_sad: Thankfully I found out later that it was child size, so it wouldn't have fit anyway! I really hope that doesn't happen with Gandalf when I preorder though!
