HawkLord Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Seems like some of the Frodo polybags are starting to show up in the US at TRU. I'm hoping to find at least three.
Javert Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 i got Weathertop yesterday, for a starter set, it's magnificent! here's some of my own personal photos of the set.
Vindicare Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Nice photos. 9472 was my first LotR purchase as well. I finally got done building the whole wave and I love this theme. I really didn't want to, I already collect enough themes... I just can't pass up on these though and awaiting the Hobbit wave.
Duke of wellington Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 They probably will not release Lego Hobbit pictures for a while!
nrg Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 We need somebody, who make pics from the retailer catalog !
Evan D Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 So Weathertop is worth the $60? I've wanted to buy it for Merry, but I was having a hard time justifying the price-tag.
Snowspeeder Pilot Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Seems like some of the Frodo polybags are starting to show up in the US at TRU. I'm hoping to find at least three. Yes! Yesterday I got just one polybag, they have a lot of them.
Javert Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 So Weathertop is worth the $60? I've wanted to buy it for Merry, but I was having a hard time justifying the price-tag. It is overpriced, but in my opinion it really is worth it! you can read my full review on the set here: Attack on Weathertop Review

Philip Robin Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Just picked up Helm's Deep on sale for 20$ USD off at the LEGO store. (don't worry, not because it was selling badly but because the box was damaged.) Great set!

(don't worry, not because it was selling badly but because the box was damaged.) Great set! I know I should be happy for you, but I hate from the bottom of my soul right now :)))) joking aside, you lucky lucky boy :) only 20$ for Helm's Deep? it is about 16 e... and who cares about the box anyway, right?:)
Stiel Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 I know I should be happy for you, but I hate from the bottom of my soul right now :)))) joking aside, you lucky lucky boy :) only 20$ for Helm's Deep? it is about 16 e... and who cares about the box anyway, right?:) $20 off from the normal price, not $20 total. (I've missed it at first reading, too.) That's still $110, which is nice, but not a reason for hate.

Yeah I read it at 20$ first too, then went back cause I couldn't believe it Still a nice deal though at 110$, especially as it's only been out a month or two Edited August 10, 2012 by soccerkid6
Graysmith Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 So Weathertop is worth the $60? I've wanted to buy it for Merry, but I was having a hard time justifying the price-tag. It's a fantastic set, probably my favourite of these first LOTR sets. That said, if you feel you have the patience to wait, my recommendation would be to wait for a discount on Amazon (it's currently $53 there, 12% off) or a local sale.

No, not $20! $20 OFF! $110! I would love to get it for only twenty, but nope.
Bilbo Baggins Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 It appears that Weathertop is getting mixed reactions for its price, I believe that the design of the set makes it totally worth it. It really has some nice details
Archer Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 While we're on the subject of Weathertop, Anybody think it's worth it to purchase 3 or 7 more ringwraiths? Other than buckleberry ferry (unlikely), or a potential Witchking fig, I don't see a lot of potential for these guys showing up in another set.
Fives Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 (edited) While we're on the subject of Weathertop, Anybody think it's worth it to purchase 3 or 7 more ringwraiths? Other than buckleberry ferry (unlikely), or a potential Witchking fig, I don't see a lot of potential for these guys showing up in another set. They could appear in an Osgiliath set, and possibly in some Hobbit sets based around Dol Guldur, since Khamul kinda took control of that fortress during the War of the Ring, he could be there during Sauron's reign as the Necromancer. Archer Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Oh, I had completely forgotten Osgiliath good point.
Elander Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Uintill a store/website lists that it got the preorder figure you should buy it anywhere. Some stores will never get it, and some will just get the specil edition that includes it. Some stores will also only have the minifig uintill they run out. In Germany: The special edition including the figure is only available through amazon.de. (atm only for ps3) Why LEGO, why? What's up? Why do you not release classic ?The people would become crazy, if they could buy sets like those! LEGO, you have all possibilities to make LotR sets like your STAR WARS BATTLE PACKS. Here are the biggest battles! Here are so many different armies! Damn LEGO, why do you obviously want to miss the chance! You have created Helm's Deep. That is wonderful, but we need *small* Battle Packs or Impulse Sets for the Riders of Rohan and the Galadhrim Warriors. LEGO, why is Eomer included in Helm's Deep expansion set and not with the other main characters in the big Helm's Deep set? Who need 10x Eomers? Why is no Galadhrim Warrior in that Helm's Deep expansion set? The idea of that wall set was very good, but you have missed to give us a reason to buy this set several times. Now are your costumers shopping at bricklink and do not buy your set direct! LEGO, why are classic Battle Packs or Impulse Sets not listed at the first and second LotR/Hobbit wave? Why do you release only this one Elrond figure just for PS3 games? LEGO, I do not understand your target!?
deskp Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 LEGO, ............. Why do you release only this one Elrond figure just for PS3 games? Noone said it will just be released for ps3. But thats all we know for certain at this point.
Javert Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 as I had the set i wanted to have a go at stopmotion, and here's the result!
The_Chosen_1 Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Any news about the Hobbit sets??? Bag End and The Hobbit Lego game are the only products that have been confirmed so far.
