Legomaster34 Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Awesome video! Is this the first Lego game to feature blood??.... Yep! I'm not entirely certain if it's blood or not, since you only see it when the Uruk Hai hits the ground, so it could just be disturbed dirt. If we see it when other characters die, and when we get a better quality video, then it's definitely blood.

Bilbo Baggins Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 I'm in love with this Rohan Armor, I really want that shield now
HawkLord Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 This will be the first Lego game I've bought since Star Wars. I haven't really much cared for the other Lego games since then, but this one really looks good. On a side note, I do think it looks like blood in the video, but I actually hope it isn't. Sure, I loved the LOTR movies and those were bloody, but with Lego I like to keep it a bit more clean.
deskp Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 (edited) Im pretty sure it's blood, but I think it'll only be in certain cutscenes, not every time you smash a minifig to pieces. Either way orc blood should be black. Non red blood is also more accepted by rating people. Edited August 17, 2012 by deskp
Seaber Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 The Gondorian soldiers look ace! Similar to how the Rohan helmet has been used in three different designs, it's possible that we could see these used on normal soldiers as well as Citadel guards, as their helmets are only slightly more intricate. I was suprised how the Rohan helmets looked so different from the standard design. I think a standard Elf helmet could work for both Last Alliance Elves and the Galadhrim.
General Magma Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 When can we start expecting an actual list of sets with descriptions of its components? Somebody already posted what he saw in a retailer's catalog in the SW 2013 topic, so perhaps it will soon be Middle-Earth's turn.
MonkeyCrumb Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 I'm so glad they extended The Hobbit to Three movies from Two! More time in theaters = more product on shelf!! I just hope LOTR keeps getting new releases! My biggest fear is that these will go away once the movies are finished (like POTC and Indiana Jones), leaving lots of unfulfilled wishlists!

Should kindof make room for one wave of sets from each of movies. If they keep doing 7 sets per wave it'll be 21 sets in total for LOTR. Obviously I'd like the theme to go on for a long time, but if it goes on for 3 years then stops it'll proapbly have beena good run! Harry potter had 51 sets in total, with some of them being of duplicate locations/vehicles, and thats from 8 movies. Lotr/hobbit will end up with 42 sets for 6 movies, proapbly without duplicates. IF they have 3 waves with 7 sets each. Obviously this is pure speculation. how many waves we get isnt confirmed anywhere. Edited August 17, 2012 by deskp
Vindice Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 I'm not sure TLG will increase their planned sets by much. I'm dissapointed Jackson has decided to fleece the fans by making a third film. It's totally unnecessary in my opinion to turn a small book into 3 films.
Bilbo Baggins Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 (edited) I don't think it is blood, or at least I hope so. All LEGO games should have no graphic deaths, such as in HP 1-4 when Cedric died Dumbledore gave his father a manual to "revive" him. Edited August 17, 2012 by Bilbo Baggins

It's totally unnecessary in my opinion to turn a small book into 3 films. I'm reserving judgement on that till I've seen all 3 movies. If it means we see more backstory ie. the white council vs the Necromancer then I aprove And 3 movies means more sets hopefully.......
TheDarkness Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 The game looks awesome, I can't wait to play it. I'm really hoping some of those minifigs become real because they look very cool!
Notorious Guf Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Have all the first wave of The Hobbit sets been announced yet? Set numbers and such?
Legomaster34 Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Have all the first wave of The Hobbit sets been announced yet? Set numbers and such? I know "An Unexpected Gathering" (Bag End) set was confirmed, but I'm curious about any others as well.

It's totally unnecessary in my opinion to turn a small book into 3 films. It's not just one book. It's also the appendices the Tolkein wrote which includes stuff that took place during the same time, PLUS added material by Jackson & his team of awesome writers (Fran & Phillipa) to bridge The Hobbit with LOTR. Anyone else and I'd be apprehensive, but Peter Jackson has already earned our trust with LOTR. Heck, even the extended editions are better than the theatricaln versions in my own opinion. But even getting a few extra sets out of this deal from both LOTR & The Hobbit will be awesome!

It's totally unnecessary in my opinion to turn a small book into 3 films. It's not just a money grab. To you and anyone else who rages about the Hobbit trilogy, this is a brilliantly thorough post from a premier Tolkien scholar explaining why a Hobbit trilogy is not only good but necessary: Hobbit Trilogy
Delta 38 Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Yeah, in June Delta 38 reported a similarly colour-inverted torso in quality control topic (picture in Flickr). The pants have the usual colours, so I doubt the inverted colours are anything but a strange misprint. Could become valuable... Ooh hello. Yeah, I just assumed it was some kind of misprint at the time, but I'm starting to wonder if this might have been an accidental early release, like the new Batman cowl. If it's actually a production error, it seems almost too perfect to be true... but either way, its inclusion in the set was definitely a mistake. There's a Hobbit trilogy now? When did that happen? I was initially quite confused that they were going to split The Hobbit into two films at first, seeing as each film of the Lord of the Rings trilogy corresponds to a book, but now I'm really confused. Oh well, can't be a bad thing.
ramjarjamjar Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 (edited) I don't know if anyone has done this, but I did a quick photoshop to see what the Aragorn minifigure would like with different colours. http://www.flickr.com/photos/84433662@N02/7732562072/ LEGO Aragorn Recolour by ramjarjamjar, on Flickr Edited August 18, 2012 by ramjarjamjar
The Joker1 Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I had no idea they did a LOTR magnet set! I can only find it here. (and it says not yet released by lego??) LOTR magnet set
just2good Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I had no idea they did a LOTR magnet set! I can only find it here. (and it says not yet released by lego??) LOTR magnet set They also had a few LOTR keychains at my LEGO store.
Krulis Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 They also had a few LOTR keychains at my LEGO store. Did you take photos of them?
just2good Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Did you take photos of them? Sadly, no. I would of filmed it if it was a different time. I had a bad time at the LEGO store yesterday. I think the had a Moria Orc and maybe a Uruk-Hai.

Haltiamieli Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 (edited) As CMS4 mentioned a while ago, Bricklink has listed Gandalf, Gimli and Mordor Orc key chains. An Uruk-hai one would be news though (as would be Moria Orc, but Mordor and Moria orcs are easily mixed up). Edited August 18, 2012 by Haltiamieli
