Zilcho Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Lego continued supporting Star Wars long after ep3 was release, even before the CW. Hopefully they will do the same with lotr, it has a similar sized fan base and probably more content in the movies than Star Wars so I expect it will continue after the movies.
deskp Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 (edited) For what it's worth heres a picture of how Radagast will look in the hobbit. http://www-images.theonering.org/torwp/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/radagast.png Sounds like we won't see him in the first wave, but I guess hes an obvious characther for future waves. More possible spoilers. Check out Elrond and Legolas Seems Elrond will be quite involved in some figthing, propably at dol goldur. And legolas has a 2. new look. http://heirsofdurin.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/back-copysm.jpg Edited August 21, 2012 by deskp
The_Chosen_1 Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Cool pics, thanks for sharing! It looks to me like they come from a calendar. Interesting to see the look for Radagast; my first thought was "Pirates of the Caribbean!"
Deathleech Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Nah... I'd say a sticker book. Under the picture of Bilbo on the left it shows January with all the days in the month. At the top it says "calendar also includes a free wallpaper download for your computer". I think it's pretty safe to assume that's a calendar... lol.

Yeah calendar, it will be released october 3rd for anyone interested x] .. I think the Hobbit action figures will be released in october, so I'm guessing by then we'll have atleast seen some more of the hobbit lego sets or minifigures. Also new trailer next month!
Bricktooth Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 At the LEGO store I saw LotR keychains, there was a Gimli, a Gandalf and a Mordor Orc one, for $5.

Bilbo Baggins Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 At the LEGO store I saw LotR keychains, there was a Gimli, a Gandalf and a Mordor Orc one, for $5. That are some weird choices I would've expected Frodo, Aragorn and Gandalf.
HawkLord Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 At the LEGO store I saw LotR keychains, there was a Gimli, a Gandalf and a Mordor Orc one, for $5. I gotta find those. Might even be in for a few of the Orcs...
giggitygoo Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Thorin & Nori via Brickipedia. I think they look fantastic! I wonder where the pictures are from, must see more!
Krulis Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Thorin & Nori via Brickipedia. I think they look fantastic! I wonder where the pictures are from, must see more! Old news. They were accidently put with Bag End figs during SDCC.
Pulp Detective Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Thorin & Nori via Brickipedia. I think they look fantastic! I wonder where the pictures are from, must see more! Old news, still I wish we get more pics soon.
Teh Stud Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 This thread is way too long! Crazy long. Any suggestions on where to look for photos of new sets coming out? Is there a summary thread somewhere?
deskp Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 This thread is way too long! Crazy long. Any suggestions on where to look for photos of new sets coming out? Is there a summary thread somewhere? This is the only HOBBIT set we got photos from.
Bilbo Baggins Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Still I wonder why we didn't got better pics, maybe they were placed as an easter egg
The_Chosen_1 Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Better pics? There's a whole gallery of Bag End pictures...I'm not sure what more you could ask for.
Lynx Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Better pics? There's a whole gallery of Bag End pictures...I'm not sure what more you could ask for. I'm pretty sure he ("Bilbo Baggins") referred to the blurry pictures of Nori and Thorin.
The_Chosen_1 Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Oh, my mistake. I should have considered the context more carefully.
Super Brick Collector Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Any word if we getting a exclusive hobbit set from TRU, target or walmart?
deskp Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Any word if we getting a exclusive hobbit set from TRU, target or walmart? we have no idea if there is going to be a "hard to find" hobbit set at all.
RaincloudDustbin Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 I would say there will be one due to my past experience of TLG.
Bilbo Baggins Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Usually themes of recent movies don't have exclusives. HP 7 part 2 didnt and neither did the Avengers.
The_Chosen_1 Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Usually themes of recent movies don't have exclusives. HP 7 part 2 didnt and neither did the Avengers. True, but Deathly Hallows pt. 2 only got a minimal number of sets in the first place. And 'The Avengers' isn't a theme unto itself; it's part of the larger Superheroes (specifically, Marvel) theme, which does have an exclusive set. I would actually love to see a LotR set released as an exclusive along with The Hobbit wave. Especially if the earliest we can expect the next LotR sets is next summer. Would be nice to have something to tide us over until then.
HawkLord Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Lego S@H has the LOTR keychains - Moria Orc, Gandalf, Gimli. They also have a magnet set of Frodo, Sam, and Ringwraith. http://shop.lego.com/en-US/The-Lord-of-the-Rings-ByTheme
