deskp Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Sauron Second Age?? Sweet!!! Did you not expect him to be in the game?
Fives Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Wait, so Smeagol, Beregond and all those other awesome characters are only on the Xbox and PS3? Why is it that the Wii doesn't get some decent unlockable content for its LEGO games. Also, I think that they mean Second Age Sauron as in Sauron as he appears during the battle of Dagorlad at the end of the Second Age. They aren't referring to his appearance as Annatar, the Giver of Gifts.
Pulp Detective Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Did you not expect him to be in the game? Ofc I did,I just happy it's confirmed.

The downloadable charactehrs in lego batman 2 wasnt part of the story, while Sauron is and you will most deffenetly see him in game, they cant cut him out for dlc. you should be able to buy/unlock this characther in game with studs and gold bricks. The wii doesen't get pre order dlc cause their download services suck.
General Magma Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Sauron... are they really planning to exclude the prologue from the actual game, as well as Sméagol's ROTK scene from before he became Gollum? Well, anyways... does anyone know a good site to pre-order the game along with the Elrond figure in Europe?
deskp Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Sauron... are they really planning to exclude the prologue from the actual game, as well as Sméagol's ROTK scene from before he became Gollum? Well, anyways... does anyone know a good site to pre-order the game along with the Elrond figure in Europe? I can't imagine the smeagol scene will be in the game. The prologue will be in the game, the pre order bonus is just an early unlock code. (the last alliance battle(prologue) is the tutorial for the game.) I havent found the elrond figure anywhere besides the german ps3 version on amazon. I would imagine amazon.co.uk to get the special edition at some point, they have in the past... but so far no luck.
DarkFader Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 (edited) I already said this in the Video game thread, but I'll say here as well and add some stuff: It feels like Sméagol should not have been a preorder code exclusive; he would have made a perfect secret unlockable character (in the vein of Indiana Jones in Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga) in all versions of the game so that no player, no matter which console they own, feels left out. It will probably just a code to unlock him early. Think about it - they would not waste the time modelling the Sauron character just to have it be an exclusive. Same principle with the real-world Elrond minifigure - it's the same hair as Legolas, just brown, and the weapon will surely be reused for Mirkwood elves. Edited September 14, 2012 by Darth Caedus
Duke of wellington Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 (edited) I can easily see the Hobbit sets not being revealed to mid November just like Palpatines arrest. Some shop will accidentally put them out around about Nov 15-23 and someone will buy them all. I reckon the release date for the sets will be between 20 NOV-5 Dec but some shops will get it early and some get it late.(I got star wars sets 2 weeks before they came out)Someone may just accidentally put them out. The Warg attack set could have the blurry dwarfs we have been seeing.+2 wargs and an eagle. Edited September 15, 2012 by Duke of wellington

I expect last week of september will will see something new, minifigures or sets. Rumor is the new trailer is released next weekend. The official release det is dec 1. for the lego sets. If the wargs and goblins are revealed in the trailer then lego doesent need to keep those sets secret anymore. Edited September 15, 2012 by deskp
Duke of wellington Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 (edited) I cannot wait to see the sets, can't wait to see prelims for June 2013 sets. Edited September 15, 2012 by Duke of wellington
DarkFader Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 can't wait to see prelims for June 2013 sets. I am sure those are still pretty far away; we most likely won't see the 2013 prelims until sometime next year.
King of Nynrah Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 I am sure those are still pretty far away; we most likely won't see the 2013 prelims until sometime next year. I strongly doubt that we'd see the preliminary pictures after the actual sets are released
Legonardo Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 I strongly doubt that we'd see the preliminary pictures after the actual sets are released I think by that he means late January/early February.
DarkFader Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 (edited) I think by that he means late January/early February. Exactly (and maybe in early January if we're lucky); I assume the first 2013 sets will be released in May or June. Edited September 15, 2012 by DarkFader
just2good Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 Heck, I'm expecting official pictures of The Hobbit sets by the end of this month!
RaincloudDustbin Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 Heck, I'm expecting official pictures of The Hobbit sets by the end of this month! I think that's a bit of a long shot, mate
Wout Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 I could take a look in the retailers catalogue, but there were only blank boxes and names we already knew. also only a text about the boardgame. only on the left a pic of some figs we already saw. They probably want to let it a big secret. the pics and rumours leaked maybe a bit too much for them.

I still think we might see something after or during next weekend. 11th october comic con might have something new aswell. Just speculation btw.

The Batman characters were DLC, and as you said, those characters weren't part of the story... but what other characters could you add in this case that aren't featured significantly in the movies? Sauron himself only appeared in a couple of flashbacks, so they probably could have cut him out. I know he's an important character, but it's possible. The old-styled Robin was DLC in Lego Batman 2. Added to that, I have no idea who Imrahil, Beregond and Theodred are, I'm pretty sure those were only in the extended editions. They seem like obscure characters which would fit well into the DLC category.
Moexy Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 (edited) Both Imrahil (Lord of Dol Amroth, you see him also when Gandalf and Faramir enter Minas Tirith, he wears a black cape) and Theodred (son of Theoden who dies after an attack by the Uruk-Hai, after which Eomer shows a helmet with the white hand on to Theoden) are seen in the normal movies, Beregond is from the books if I remember correctly. It actually doesn't matter if I don't have some characters ingame, as long as I get the Elrond minifigure Edited September 16, 2012 by Moexy

Oh right, yes. Though their appearances are kind of negligible, I suppose, especially since Theodred is already dead....

Second Theodred was Theoden's son (he was in movie: Eomer found his body). Beregond and Imrahil only appeared in a book. Beregond was a citadel guard who helped Gandalf and Pippin saving Faramir from getting burned by his crazy father. Imrahil was prince of Dol Amroth.
