Another point is, why are some characters only included in books, video games, ect. ?? :wall:

Sorry, but if I see things like that, then I don't want to LEGO.

I always want to LEGO

EDIT: Gaaah why do these posts never connect :hmpf_bad:

SpiderSpaceman, you make a really interesting point about the troll helmet. If TLG utilizes the studs on the troll's head they could easily design two helmets, the one seen in the poster, and the one worn by the trolls who attacked Minas Tirith with the two massive horns.

I just saw something on Brickset - a member named "bricklee" seems to think the Hobbit sets will be revealed at NYCC on October 11. Perhaps something to look forward to, or just another rumor.

Officially revealed, sure, but we don't care about that. Where are the illegal cell phone snaps?! Need more TMZ up in here, it's getting too classy.

ROTFL!

That made my evening.

I do wonder how the split into 3 films will affect LEGO's release of sets, though. I don't see it affecting the Winter 2012/2013 wave, but the potential releases down the line? Would they actually try to make more sets? Or at least have some tentatively planned if the sales from the first wave are great? The timeline from design to completion is still set at 12 months, no? I imagine that announcement threw alot of merchandisers into a bit of a panic.

But I was totally serious, dude

Don't think it will be a problem. Hobbit movies mean parents buying Hobbit toys for the kids. Christmas 2012 and Christmas 2013 a guarantee, Christmas 2014 likely with continued buzz and the dvd. Think how Batman stuff will surely sell this Christmas, it's a Batman movie year. Kids and families don't operate on a by-the-minute basis like us hardcore collectors, who are buying the stuff as it's unloaded off the truck .

Look at this especially the comments.

I cannot wait until December when we get he Hobbit sets and Prelims of the LOTR sets.

I don't know how you got that we'll be getting LOTR prelims in Dec from that forum thread...........

Yeah, we are NOT expecting any more LOTR sets for another 9 months, if ever. (Probably, but there is no guarantee.) If preliminary pictures are revealed at some toy fest, it will not be until next year. Please stop getting carried away, and making up rumours.

Ya, I dunno how you got anything regarding the next LotR wave from that. The only thing mentioned in the comments is that we should see the rest ofthe Hobbit sets revealed mid October, but that's pretty well known by now. I am guessing we will prolly get a glimpse of the next LotR wave at Toy Fair 2013.

Hmm, nice poster. It's funny how the Balrog's whip thing uses illegal connection techniques (the fire piece was changed some years back removing those two small side things, for whatever reason).

Interesting how Lurtz is still brown as opposed to reddish-brown. I thought Lurtz was only brown because he was newly-birthed or something.

Tauriel's hair is going to call for a new, one-time mould, which I'm honestly quite glad about. Sure, they could just re-use Legolas's hair, but it would be nice to see a new mould.

I don't know about that. Don't get me wrong, it'd be great to get a new mold, but I think she'll just have the normal Elf hair. :hmpf_bad:

I suspect they might pull that, but it does look kind of different from the other elven hair. At the very least they'll have to produce it in dark red. :sweet:

Oh is that what color it is? I thought it was dark brown.

*snip, microfig comparison pic*

Good spot, but I hope it's just that it's similar. I'd like to see a new mold designed specifically for Fili, but that's probably unlikely...

Although, with all those other new molds... :look:

His hairline at the top doesn't go like that:

Well, it looks more dark red to me. I certainly hope it'd be.

I've found better version of image showing Nori and Thorin:

The Hobbit - Ad

Thanks for sharing, the detail is better but I'm kinda disapointed with thorins face,I mean his eyebrows doest much at all, originally he has black eyebrows still lego did good job desighing the figures.

In my opinion He should use thorins hairpiece in another color, Its basiacly the same except I think thorin might have 2 braids in the back where Fili has one.
