This seems really soon. Like, a month too soon. If what you say is true and you do receive the set, I wonder what that means for us in North America, or even just Canada. Because as of right now I have the funds put aside to buy the whole wave upon release, I'm just waiting for that release.

Well here the official realese was december for the sets and we always get the newest lego themes1 or 2 months later after their official realese in america ,well if indeed the sets are anavailable then for once we're lucky here in greece. Edited by LOTR343

I think people overestimate how much work del Toro put in.

Maybe, but the Great Goblin does look an awful lot like some of the trolls in Hellboy II. Not a super distinctive design, but it does have a del Toro vibe to it.

I found some new pics of Bolg that were released yesterday.

http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/rorschachsrants/news/?a=69099

This looks to be one of the scariest orcs we've yet seen come from PJ's Middle-Earth. I love it since it is so distinguishable from any other group of orcs we've seen before (as Bolg's orcs are from the north, so Mount Gundabad and the more northern Misty Mountains), which means people won't mistake these guys for Mordor orcs or Uruks, yet still know they are orcs.

Anyway, I can't wait to see how they tackle him as a minifig when the time comes, and I feel that he will look menacing in any AFOLs orc army.

So Deskp Sent me the Hobbit pics on his flickr, and then i saw it!

Tauriel in This Picture her daggers are New Print But at this NYCC pciture she has the dagger of time print , What is your guy's take on it, to me it looks like new printed daggers for us!

To me it looks like a colour mistake made by the guys doing the CG images. On the box art for the set, the daggers are those from the Prince of Persia sets.

The Great Goblin

Just gives a little bit more reference when we look at the figs.

OMG the figure looks just like it wow i'm glad they put detail into it!

I was just looking at the 2013 creator sets and the thought came to me that we most likely won't be seeing any LoTR eagles but perhaps LEGO is trying to kill two birds with one stone with this set: 31004-1 Fierce Flyer

I don't think so in the Lego Lord of the Rings Game dev diary 3 they have Eagle Molds

I dont know if its been answered or not, but I know at one point it was being discussed. Are they continueing the LoTR series? Or is it just the first sets and the hobit sets?

Well seeing the picture of owly, I still hope we get the black Orthanc tower with Saruman and the Balrog (If I'm not mistaken.)

That was the price also quoted in the contest where it listed the Unexpected Gathering set as one of the prizes. I think that seems pretty likely considering how large the set looks.

But TLG SAID! i refuse to beleve it! (Well i kinda do)

Interesting

The designer for bag end also made Helms deep. they are similar in that they are complete structures.

The designer for Moria also made the goblin cave. Also similar type of set

wonder if 'weathertop'/'uruk hai army' designer made 'warg attack', if 'orc forge designer made 'Barell escape' and if 'Shelob' designer made 'mirkwood spiders' set.

It would be nice if there was a list somewhere with all the lego designers where you could see what sets/figures they have designed.

The Orc Forge was originally shown off having 5 minifigures at Toy Fair this year but it ended up only have 4. I could see them changing the price, especially because the set seemed to good to be true at $59.99. It definitely seems more like a $69.99 set what with 5 unique minifigures, all the accessories, and of course the beautiful Bag End structure.

Currently here in the states, Lego has free shipping for orders over a hundred and double VIP points. What's the over under on if we will see a pre-order for the Hobbit sets pop up before Oct 31?

Tags like that shield are given for all kinds of reasons. I got it for my participation in the Guilds of Historica. It is an awesome project for all of you who are too scared to click the link to the sub-forum above.

Back to Hobbit 2012!

There is 0% chance that happens. They may go up before then, but they won't be for sale until December 1st on the site, maybe a few days earlier in store, and probably in a week or two from now at TRU in the US.

Presumably most places will, they ususaly appear in stores some before the real release date (dec 1.)

I am aware, Its just a nice change from 3 months late :sweet: Although LOTR only came out here last month, having the 1st hobbit wave so soon after maybe risky,I know I won't be getting my hands on it till January - February, I have too many things I need to save up for.

Is it just me, or does Dame Edna seem to have packed on a few pounds?

Does Lego S@H ever do pre-orders? I'm thinking slim to none, just because anything involving a current release movie will have some funky and legally harsh hard dates involved.
