Deathleech Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 LEGO Hobbit site updated with minifig descriptions (Bifur, Yazneg, hunter orc, goblin warrior). Nice! So it appears the orcs in Goblin Town are slightly different than those that ride the Wargs? The bio for Yazneg doesn't say much at all, and it appears the one for Scribe is still missing or not going to be done? Deathleech, here's the link: http://www.facebook....439994619396799 Thanks! It appears that in addition to the Warg we also get a look at the watcher in the water, Sauron, and some Mordor Orcs with slightly different torso printing (sorry if these were featured in a previous LotR video game video, I haven't really been keeping up with them)? I took some pics of the set for you guys,I blended it with my moc, hope you like it.http://www.flickr.co...N08/8141855936/ Thanks for the pics! Any chance you can take some of Fili and Kili?

Gryphon Ink Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 The Hobbit sets for Winter for the movie releases and LotR sets for summer release. Sound plausible? That's what I think they're doing, because the license covers both trilogies but releasing the sets together would make for confusing branding. It also works out perfectly as far as the timing goes. The sets from the iconic LOTR movies started the buzz and will keep it going during the "off season" for Hobbit sets, and the Hobbit sets come out right when the movies are in theaters and getting maximum exposure. This means we are pretty much guaranteed at least three LOTR waves and three Hobbit waves, so they should be able to cover a good deal of material and satisfy all of us junkies fans.

The bio for Yazneg doesn't say much at all, and it appears the one for Scribe is still missing or not going to be done? Yeah, I also hoped for more info on Yazneg, as well as the white warg. I guess we wont see a bio for the scribe, as that would already have been put up with the Goblin town set.

Oh there's been no sign of any mordor orc amor
Captain Settle Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 This may be a stupid question, but who's The Scribe?
Deathleech Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 I guess we wont see a bio for the scribe, as that would already have been put up with the Goblin town set. I doubt we will either at this point, but you never know. They added Bifur a few days after Thorin despite coming in the same set, and they just added the orc from the Goblin King Battle set shown off almost two weeks ago. Oh there's been no sign of any mordor orc amor He is suppose to be the short goblin in the Goblin King Battle set. Other than that we have no info on him. I assume he is some kind of record keeper, though who knows what that means since he is an orc! This may be a stupid question, but who's The Scribe? Here are the new torsos:

If you do have the time, can you please take a picture of the box's front and back? I love seeing new set boxes IRL.
Lynx Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 I stumbled upon some incredibly well done and humerous LEGO LotR stop-motion videos. Enjoy! Here are two more:
just2good Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 I stumbled upon some incredibly well done and humerous LEGO LotR stop-motion videos. Enjoy! {vids} Wow, these are HILARIOUS! My favorite is the Halloween one, though!
SheepEater Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 (edited) Also, if--like many--you've got extra Uruk Hai Army sets, you can have your Caped Eomer AND donate an extra's long cape to Elrond, freeing up the short green cape for Sam or one of the other Hobbits. That's exactly what I'm gonna do. My first 9471 does have a caped Eomer and generic Rohirrim archer, the official set build. My 2nd 9471 has an "Archer captain" (Eomer face & helm, green torso, eomer chainmail legs) and "generic Rohirrim horseman" (Archer face & helm, red torso, archer legs) Gonna give the blue cape to Thorin when I get him. Miles Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 I stumbled upon some incredibly well done and humerous LEGO LotR stop-motion videos. Enjoy! Okay, that Halloween one is absolutely hysterical. *Saves to hard drive* Thanks for posting!
Prominence Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 The Hobbit sets are already out in the USA? It's not even November!
Lynx Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Okay, that Halloween one is absolutely hysterical. *Saves to hard drive* Thanks for posting! Forgive my ignorance but how do you save youtube videos to your hard drive?
HawkLord Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 I stumbled upon some incredibly well done and humerous LEGO LotR stop-motion videos. Enjoy! Normally, I have low expectations when watching Youtube clips, but all of those were actually really good. The Halloween one was the clear winner, but they were all well-made with good quality.
just2good Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 The Hobbit sets are already out in the USA? It's not even November! Where did you get that from?
Shroffy123 Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 The Hobbit sets are already out in the USA? It's not even November! Yes, where did you hear that? I believe the member who has gotten sets so far is from Greece. Please give your source - I'm anxious to start picking these sets up
Miles Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 The Hobbit sets are already out in the USA? It's not even November! Um, no. Perhaps you need to read the posts above yours a little more carefully? And Lynx, I surf the web with Firefox, which has a free add-on called "DownloadHelper" It allows me to pull video and other media off the web - in that case of YouTube videos, I can either grab them as FLV files or my preferred format, MP4.
Deathleech Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 That's exactly what I'm gonna do. My first 9471 does have a caped Eomer and generic Rohirrim archer, the official set build. My 2nd 9471 has an "Archer captain" (Eomer face & helm, green torso, eomer chainmail legs) and "generic Rohirrim horseman" (Archer face & helm, red torso, archer legs) That's what I did with all my Uruk-hai Army sets. I took the very first Eomer and put the right helm, head, and cloak on him. For all the rest I left the cape off and mixed and matched pieces from Eomer and the Rohan Soldier. Not including weapons, and counting both face prints for each head, that gave me a total of 32 unique combinations. Add in the weapons and it's well over 90. Still, they start to look a bit redundant after a few dozen...
Duke of wellington Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 This is great I could imagine a set with Frodo,Sam,Gollum,Faramir ,2 Rangers and an oliphaunt and those archer guys. Please give your source - I'm anxious to start picking these sets up My mistake, I figured the USA would be the first to get the new Hobbit sets. Maybe I should check the larger toy stores. (I live in the Netherlands.)
