just2good Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Do you guys think there will be a sale for the LOTR sets around Christmas? Maybe. Last year's Target Winter clearance had Cars sets on sale, which came out around 13 months before the LOTR sets. But they also had some Summer 2011 sets on sale.
Hrw-Amen Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 I managed to get twelve Uruks from the polybags. Not sure what to do with the twelve Suns, my recycling bag is full. Usually I don't bother to take the papers but yesterday for some reason they insisted I did. Normally I only get three, but it was just too much temptation with yesterdays not to get as many as I could!
Kez Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 ^ throw the papers in the regular bin, stuff the recycling box LOL
Kez Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 (edited) As some of you may have noticed there is a designer video of the new elrond minifigure, here is a link to what you have to do to watch it, http://thelordoftherings.lego.com/en-us/default.aspx?icmp=COUSFR9LOTR Once you are on the link and a map of lego lotr has appeared you need to look in the bottom right hand corner of that page and there is a box which you enter a code into to watch the designer video of the elrond figure, the code is A9FB4Q the box has a title that reads enter code, once you have entered the code a little clip will appear for the video Edited November 5, 2012 by Kez

I was not expecting a designer video for this. It was neat!
Lynx Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Thanks, Kez! I am no really confused regarding Elrond's cape. The picture posted previously in this thread showed a short cape - and so does the artwork in the desinger video. However, the bag and the actual figure in the video possess a long cape.
Kez Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 MIRKWOOD SPIDERS HD PICTURES AT LEGO.COM The mirkwood spiders is now at lego.com with some great pictures, here is the link, there could also be a designer video but no sign of it yet http://thehobbit.lego.com/en-us/products/79001

Balrog Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Guys seriously the lotr mini game is buged or I'm not doing something right,I'm beating the bad guys but I'm still losing. I see the same. It doesn't seem as if you can click anything, except the "Play" button. And there are no instructions or anything to find out how to play this game.
Hrw-Amen Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 That set with the Mirkwood spiders looks good. although I am not too sure about what appears to be flick fire spiders unless I am seeing wrong? A female Elf as well, that should be good for army builders and another version of Legolas. The spiders look good with glow in the dark bits, although not as good as the Shelob one, then I guess they are supposed to be smaller which limits the details that can be added. Can't wait to we get some of these sets out in the UK!
General Magma Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Did anyone else here think that Legolas and Tauriel's legs could work great for custom Rohirrim soldiers?

Gryphon Ink Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Seeing the new trailer for the Hobbit with Wreck-It Ralph (which by the way is an excellent movie) has made me more amped than ever for the movie and the new sets. You can start to tell how "Goblin Town" is going to work, and it looks great. Still no explanation of how the dwarves' quest ties in with the larger story of Sauron's return, but there are definite hints that they are connected. And when Gandalf tells you he's afraid, you know you better fasten your seatbelt!
Seaber Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Seeing the new trailer for the Hobbit with Wreck-It Ralph (which by the way is an excellent movie) has made me more amped than ever for the movie and the new sets. Still no explanation of how the dwarves' quest ties in with the larger story of Sauron's return, but there are definite hints that they are connected. And when Gandalf tells you he's afraid, you know you better fasten your seatbelt! The quest is linked to Sauron in two ways. The first is that during the quest, Gandalf keeps disappearing. During these absences, he is discovering about the Necromancer's identity (Sauron) and then he and the white council attack the fortress of Dol Duldur where his power has been growing. The second reason that the quest is linked to Sauron is that Gandalf suspects that Sauron will return and try to regain his former power. He reasons that he will try to get Smaug on his side, with the promise of gold and jewels etc. Gandalf sees the quest as a way to remove Smaug as a potential ally for Sauron.
mpaisana Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 (edited) Escape in barrels designer video I thought the set they were going to unveil today was Escape from Mirkwood Spiders! Yep, on the Hobbit website it says the Barrel Escape is to be unveiled on November 12th. Edited November 5, 2012 by mpaisana
Deathleech Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 It looks like they mixed up the designer video. They have the product info up for the Escape from the Mirkwood Spiders set and the character profiles for Kili, Fili, Legolas, and Tauriel. The only thing they don't have is the designer video, which is the Barrel Escape one instead.
Pulp Detective Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Has any1 got the new lego lotr video game?If yes is it good?

LegoLotRGuy Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Not Sure if this has been posted yet but here we go the pc demo for Lego the Lord of The Rings! http://videogames.lego.com/en-us/lego-lord-of-the-rings/demo-download/
Venkefedo Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 If I wasn't sold already, that video of Barrel Escape convinced me. Lots of weapons, cool elves, cool dwarves, and a sparse building that looks easy to beef up into a more substantial cellar. Good thing I've got plenty of tan bricks from Pharaoh's Quest and PoP! The Mirkwood set looks great, too! I like the idea of using Legolas & Tauriel's legs for Rohirrim. Might have to get a few.
PsyKater Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 (edited) I know there is an updated version of this"]this picture somewhere in this thread, could anyone post it in the first post as well? That would be very nice, thank you! Edited November 6, 2012 by PsyKater
