Darth Nihilus Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 (edited) I want either a Gandallf or Nazgul poster next. I want this one: Even though most of the characters in there won't be in the first wave, hopefully they will come in later waves. It also could show us more of the quiver/hair combo, and the bow piece, which might be new. Edited January 19, 2012 by Darth Nihilus
Mofo Jones Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Legolas have blue eyes? Still, the fig looks ok with black eyes. I don't know how LEGO would put blue eyes on him without going into the "creepy Clone Wars face" category, though.
Omicron Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Legolas' hair is perfect for Zelda. I hope it comes in brown too. -Omi

Noone really have black eyes, so changing it for one minifig seems silly.
Fives Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Legolas' hair is perfect for Zelda. I hope it comes in brown too. -Omi I wouldn't be surprised if LEGO makes a single elf hairpiece that can be used for pretty much all the elves, because all the elves wear their hair the same way for the most part. If not this one, then maybe if they do Elrond we will get brown elf hair.

Aanchir Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 IMO all minifigures should have black eyes unless they are non-human or somehow magically influenced. I can tolerate Lord Garmadon from Ninjago having red eyes, or trolls and skeletons from Fantasy-Era Castle having glowy red eyes, or the Collectible Minifigures werewolf and minotaur having yellow eyes, but minifigures with colored eyes just don't sit well with me. The fig deskp showed above is a good example of why, but if you prefer an older example, the dead-looking grey eyes of the Mission Deep Sea version of Dash and Cam's alien-looking green eyes show how bad an idea colored eyes for minifigures can be. Exhibit D is Madame Hooch from Harry Potter, who is a wee bit terrifying with her solid yellow, pupil-less eyes.
DaleDVM Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I like his eyes the original way as well. I think this is a good representation of LEGOlas. We will have to wait and see if they worked some new quiver/hair/weapon clip combination. Yes that is the gladius from the CMF gladiator. It actually looks great as a rohan sword. Thank goodness the torso has no flesh on it. I think anyone hoping for flesh on the torso is incredibly short sighted? Personally I don't want yellow on my torsos either. Then yellow figs can be switched to fleshies for those who want them that way. That way torsos can be used both ways.
Rogue Angel Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I'm just pumped to get long blonde elven hair. The more pointy ear hair pieces the better!
Angeli Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 (edited) I will resize it later, just to allow people to see the details :) Edited January 20, 2012 by Angeli

Hey, what about Arwen? She has black hair too, doesn't she? Problem with Elrond is he has a very high hair line - and Arwen has her ears covered most of the time. But we can still hope. edit: okay turns out Figwit just had very dark brown hair. Edited January 20, 2012 by Artanis I

Even if it is on a female character, it would still be wonderful.
AndyC Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 But, on the other hand, I wouldn't understand LEGO showing a promo pic of a fig that is capable of something the final product won't be able to do. Really? Even though, in this picture, you'd have to be able to position a bow such that the point of the arrow would have to be embedded somewhere in the figs spine? Or is another mold of an unslung bow, just for when it's on his back, coming too? Will all sets include both a slung and unslung bow? Will there be arrow molds too? Isn't the "It's just a copy of the original poster and thus has a little artistic license" explanation looking even a tad more plausible yet?

All the pieces in the poster exists, there jsut contorted to replicate the pose and that, the bow/quiver thing I dont think will work with the hair at all, I think its a little nifty shadow work on that poster. But im really excited to compare all the cg posters we get to the final minifigures !
Miss Kyle Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Legolas' hair is perfect for Zelda. High Five for that one!!! My thoughts exactly! Bye-bye long blonde ponytail.
manuelexar Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Hey! The torso hasn't pinky parts! We can use it on forestmen! :)
AngryChair Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Sorry if this has already been covered but do you think TLG will re-design the smaller legs for the Hobbitts so that they move.? Would be a shame for such prominent figures not being poseable. Cheers

Even if it is on a female character, it would still be wonderful. The CMF werewolf would suffice wouldn't it? It's exactly the same mold as the elf hair. Sorry if this has already been covered but do you think TLG will re-design the smaller legs for the Hobbitts so that they move.? Would be a shame for such prominent figures not being poseable. Cheers I sure hope so for animating purposes!

Would be a shame for such prominent figures not being poseable. Cheers I don't think they will. There are more children in City than will be Hobbits in LotR, so if they had cared/could they would have already.
Darth Nihilus Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 The CMF werewolf would suffice wouldn't it? It's exactly the same mold as the elf hair. No, the Werewolf hair was dark brown, not black.
BrickBob Studpants Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 No, the Werewolf hair was dark brown, not black. And the ears on that part are reddish brown, so it doesn't fit as an elf hairpiece (unless it's used for an elf with darker skin tone, in that case it would work well I think ). I really hope we're going to get either a Gimli or Gandalf poster next week, I can't wait to see what the other minifigs look like
Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Has anyone else noticed this or maybe it's just me? Legolas's right arm/shoulder seems awfully low to me. Shouldn't it be higher?

KristofBD Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Nice posters, but now it is time for something more substantial.
