General Magma Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 (edited) I would specially like a Bilbo or a Sauron. Bilbo will probably make an appearance in an actual set, and the same might go for Sauron if the supposed hints for a future set of 'The Last Alliance' (picture of Elrond in battle gear) are true, and if they're not just for something else. We might just get a King Aragorn figure with his crown, or perhaps an Easterling if we don't get any of those in a set.. But even then, a main character is more likely... so, King Aragorn (less likely since if we're to get a Black Gate set, the only new thing would be the crown), Arwen (in a certain dress), one of the named Rohan guards... there are enough possibilities but it needs to be so that we'd have enough available characters in sets. Masked Builder Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 You've summed up my thoughts exactly GM. I hope for an Arwen figure but Aragorn is the most likely. Quote
Fives Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 It could be King Aragorn from his Coronation. At the Coronation, he wore a full suit of armor, but during the Battle of the Morannon, he wore something more similar to Faramir's ranger outfit, so an exclusive armored Aragorn could be likely. I also just thought maybe they could do Smeagol while he was still a Hobbit, before the ring corrupts him. Or maybe a twilight Ringwratith or a (non- poseable) trans clear Frodo with the Ring on. Bilbo Baggins Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Bilbo will probably make an appearance in an actual set, But it will probably be young Bilbo from "the Hobbit", I want the old one from LOTR. Quote
General Magma Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 (edited) But it will probably be young Bilbo from "the Hobbit", I want the old one from LOTR. LOTR Bag End/The Shire set..? Rivendell? ...Like I said, I'm pretty sure he'll appear in a LOTR set somewhere. Edited July 3, 2012 by General Magma Quote
Fives Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 I was just thinking about the new 'backpack' feature this game has. It is a really cool idea, and it got me thinking 'Will it hold outfits?'. So, rather than having three or four Aragorns taking up space in the character circles, Aragorn could just have his different outfits (Ranger, Helm's Deep, Black Gate, King) stored in his backpack. From what was seen in the demo footage from E3, the backpacks can hold quite a bit, and each of the Fellowship members only has so many important items they use, so maybe alternate clothes could be stored there too. It was just a thought. It would be cool, and would be a way for there to be more space for more characters rather than a bunch of alternates. Quote

Compare the backpack with the spell selection in the HP games, the hp games got diferent costumes in one characther slot aswell, in the characther select not in the "backpack" The team making Lotr is the same one who made the HP games so we should expect this to return. (TT games got 2 studios working on diferent lego games for proper console/pc at once) Btw the backpack is also used for storing temporary items, for example if you find some mithril you'll have to deliver that to a smith, or a special key you need for a special chest later on, Edited July 7, 2012 by deskp Quote

I like the temporary items idea. It will give the game a more RPG-like feel. I'm interested to see what the smiths can actually do for the characters. Also, how do you know about the temporary items thing? Quote
deskp Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 how do you know about the temporary items thing? I've been watching the e3 previews. I think one of the things the smiths can make is better weapons. Quote
Bilbo Baggins Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Do you think we'll get more information about the game on the Comic-Con? I'm not sure if they cover videogames on it. Quote
just2good Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 (edited) I doughnut know if this has been posted already, but this LEGO LOTR game Facebook banner has been released: Edited July 11, 2012 by just2good Quote
Masked Builder Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 It does look good, I saw on amazon that said it was available October 1st. Quote
Masked Builder Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 I heard October 26th (European release date) My only guess would be it's for the US. Quote
Oky Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Looks neat! Thanks for sharing! I doughnut know Are you doing this on purpose now? Quote
Cammo Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Some more screenshots of the game can be found by clicking on the following link: link Quote
General Magma Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 (edited) Does anybody know when we might expect the next trailer for the game? LEGO games usually get them 1 and a half month after their respective teaser trailers, Batman 2 was a bit later, and now we got some new screens for LEGO LOTR. I'm really looking forward to see what they've got for the next trailer. Hopefully they'll show some of the larger battles as well... My guess for the next trailer is July 15th or somewhere later halfway through the month, but perhaps somebody else knows more of this. Edited July 17, 2012 by General Magma Quote
Bilbo Baggins Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 It has been mentioned over the LOTR forum that the exclusive minifig with preorder will be Gandalf the White Quote

sologuy369 Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Could you post a link for the preorder, or is it not up yet? There was no link, just a rumor. Here's the quote from the LOTR forum; Not sure if this was posted, but I looked back a few pages and couldn't find anything. My good friend who works at manager level of Gamestop recieved info of upcoming preorder information, and one of them involved the Lego LoTR game and its preorder bonus. It is going to be a Gandalf the White figure. -Omi Quote
Legomaster34 Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 (edited) There was no link, just a rumor. Here's the quote from the LOTR forum; Alright, thanks! Still can't wait! Hopefully when I preorder I'll actually receive the bonus this time. I didn't get the t-shirt when I preordered Harry Potter: Years 5-7, but I heard they were all child sizes, so it wasn't that big of a deal, but I'll be more than a bit upset if Gandalf doesn't arrive. purpleparadox Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 if Gandalf doesn't arrive. Pun intended? Quote
Lance Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 Are pre-orders open yet? If so, where can I pre-order it? Quote
sologuy369 Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 Are pre-orders open yet? If so, where can I pre-order it? When I preorederd AND bought Lego batman 2 at Gamestop, they ask me if I wanted to Preoreder Lego LOTR. So the answer in short, yes at gamestop. Quote
