Bilbo Baggins Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 I believe the only way of getting this LEGO LOTR movie is if WB got the rights from TLG and then make the film, that's why LEGO's short clips don't feature the lines from the movie Quote
deskp Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 the new trailer: http://www.ign.com/videos/2012/08/13/lego-lord-of-the-rings-gamescom-trailer Seems to me alot of the footage in it, is from early development. Quote
General Magma Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 (edited) PEGI 12? Isn't that the highest rated LEGO game in history, then? The trailer looks epic too. This is going to be great! Also, Gandalf the White has a new hairpiece. I still wonder why Moria orcs are roaming in Mordor and why the Rohan soldiers have Hobbit hair, but okay, should be early game footage as said above. Edited August 13, 2012 by General Magma Quote

That looks fantastic! I love this game now already... Also, was that blood? Might be one of the things to explain the PEGI 12 rating, although orcs have black blood. (Not sure how many younger players would understand, however) Is the game set for release on October 26th or October 1st now? Edited August 16, 2012 by General Magma Quote

Its good they got a higher rating,,, allows them to stay closer to the movies. Quote

Boromir won't trip over a banana placed by Lurtz and die off-screen then, I'd suppose! Will there be a full version of this or perhaps anything else about the game, or was that it? If I recall correctly, LEGO Batman 2 had 3 trailers, so perhaps we might see another one in a month... Edited August 16, 2012 by General Magma Quote

There might be some more videos from gamescom, but presumably they'll all be from helms deep. These lego games never seem to have a particulary clear marketing plan. edit: heres 3 more bad videos: http://www.ign.com/videos/2012/08/16/lego-the-lord-of-the-rings-defend-the-tower-gamescom-2012 2. edit: ign has an article talking on the game and its open world element: http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/08/17/lego-lord-of-the-rings-rebuilds-middle-earth 3. update, IGN video with cinematics + extensive gameplay + Developer commentary http://www.ign.com/videos/2012/08/16/lego-the-lord-of-the-rings-helms-deep-developer-walkthrough-gamescom-2012 Edited August 17, 2012 by deskp Quote

And still wondering if it has been confirmed that it was indeed blood that was coming from the Uruk, or if there's been a mention of it elsewhere. Edited August 17, 2012 by General Magma Quote

Still wondering if it has been confirmed that it was indeed blood that was coming from the Uruk, or if there's been a mention of it elsewhere. Nowhere has showed the end of the Helms deeps level, so it could still happen. Its a shame cause he proably won't get much game time, but it's also one of those dissmissable moments. Quote
Fives Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 I just rewatched the video and there isn't blood, just dirt. When the Uruk falls and hits the ground, he looks over to the other Uruk who bends down to help him. His eyes are blinking, indicating he didn't really die. I really think the only deaths that need to be shown are Boromir's and Theoden's, since they are rather major characters whose deaths seriously affect other characters in the story, particularly Denethor and Faramir. Speaking of that, I wonder how they will tackle the insanity of Denethor and his hate of Faramir. It's a rather dark, sad part of ROTK, and it will be interesting to see how they try to make it fit within the LEGO game style. Quote

Except for maybe the part where he 'makes' faramir ride back to Osiligath. Theres no need for them to linger on that conflict. Quote

Maybe you have a point but, last time I checked, dirt wasn't red, although I'm not sure about it being blood anymore either.. Perhaps they're not going for the higher rating after all and Boromir just ends up disappearing after being hit with a fish, or something like that. Quote

This orc got shot with an arrow, don't see why Boromir wouldn't. If its blood or not is propably up for intepetation. All we really know is thats its some red goop. Quote

Krulis Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 It's great, I see some foreshadowing with Boromir I noticed this too . But didn't they add extra (fourth) arrow ? Also after seeing Mordor Orc here I'm sure that the Moria ones under Black Gate were just placeholders. Quote
General Magma Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 The picture looks great! Has it already been confirmed that the game is actually rated PEGI 12? Quote
deskp Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 (edited) The picture looks great! Has it already been confirmed that the game is actually rated PEGI 12? Nahh, nothing can be confirmed for reals uintill the game is completed. But the trailer show that thats what they are trying to get. So its like 80% sure theyll get that, if they get rated higher they'll tweak the game to where its down to 12 again. rarely will a dev get or try for a lower rating than they put out first. i guess esrb will be 'e 10+' like the other lego games Edited August 22, 2012 by deskp Quote
