Posted May 12, 201212 yr Soo, my first Post. I've built a steampunk island. On it is a Lighthouse. Hope that you enjoy my second steampunk Moc. - Sorry for my bad English :[ Ich nutze Englisch selten außerhalb der Schule.^^
May 13, 201212 yr Don't worry about your skills in English, all you need is practice. I for myself try to read, listen to (movies in original sound is often much better than the translated ones) and speak English in every possible way (aks my brother and my wife). At first it is quite difficult, but as time goes one you will become better. But I think further discussion about this should be done via PM rather than in this topic ^.^ The MOC is really nice, though I have no direct connection to the Steam Punk theme. I mean it could be a normal wooden light house (on a "normal" floating island of course). Why not adding some steam engines? Maybe some propellers or stuff that provide to hold the light tower in position? Additionally you could make a pathway from an edge (or better: a small landing stage) to the front door. And the "light" (flames) could be a bit larger. What about a flag on top of the flag pole? But anyway I really like the shape of the island and the look of the lighthouse.
May 19, 201212 yr Welcome to Eurobricks! Great first post! I hope to see many more! I really like the rock and the grass. It's really nicely done. The lighthouse is pretty cool too! This actually is a good idea... if you're flying around with floating rocks, you'd need lots of light houses to make sure you don't hit the rocks!
June 10, 201212 yr I love steampunk and I love this - the island itself is great. The lighthouse is a really good idea and the execution is really great too IMO. Maybe add a light house keeper? :)
June 11, 201212 yr Neat build! I especially like the way you build the rocks upside down Hope to see more from you soon
July 2, 201212 yr This is awesome - it's like the Gorillaz Feel Good Inc. Edited July 2, 201212 yr by TeardropTrashcan
July 7, 201212 yr Excellent MOC. I too love the Steampunk genre. I like the use of the finishing plates on the sides.
July 8, 201212 yr The layering of the green, and the foilage against the traditional brown tones of Steampunk, really works!
July 8, 201212 yr A creative idea with a great execution! The lighthouse is very steampunk-y! Maybe you should add a little house to it, where the lighthouse-keeper could live. BTW how do you display this? Did you edit out the supports, because right now it looks a bit unstable.
July 12, 201212 yr Guten Tag! I really like your MOC; it's quirky and charming. Two questions for you, though: firstly, how do you support the model so it doesn't topple over? It looks like it's balancing on a 1x1 block...!! And, secondly, if this is your /second/ steampunk MOC, then where is your first? :-) Edit: perhaps you could take a photograph of your lighthouse from a slightly different angle. I think you have some fire in the middle of the structure which is being hidden by one of the beams. If you angled the camera around slightly so you could see the fire, I think it'd really frame your creation in the best possible light (so to speak=)! cheers, John Edited July 12, 201212 yr by skayen

August 28, 201212 yr Nice Moc. The tower has a cool mechanized look to it. How did you suspend it for the photo?
