I hope that Coryn Kelens Roron Corobb, and C-3PO realize that if Hugar Ssiht turns out to be a Jedi they will bear some of responsibility.

Beep bip beeeeooooop blop dop bope.

[Please, the continued insistence of some here to want to hold Cory, Corobb, and C-3PO accountable if the lynch goes poorly is starting to make you look scummy. It's almost like you're trying to set yourself up to distance yourself from this lynch decision if it turns out poorly. Perhaps you are already aware of a framed result or misdirection that you might care to enlighten us with?

To everyone yet to vote, if you really want to distance yourself from this lynch, vote someone other than Hugar. I'm sure we'd be happy to review that in detail tomorrow.]

...I don't think there's anything more to be said, except yay, investigation result at last! :sweet: This is our second mostly-confirmed Scum lynch, so let's make it good. We've been really, really lucky thus far, let's hope that luck continues! :classic:

So, in deference to the investigation result, I will Vote: Hugar Ssiht (badboytje88)

I have returned from my chambers and the force leads a clear path for once

Vote:Hugar Ssiht (badboytje88)

I might as well confess my role in this whole ordeal since you guys are going to vote me off anyway. I am the town vengeful. I get to take revenge during the night if I get voted off during the day. Just try me. Bring it. I don't care if I'm going to kill town or scum, all I know is that I will choose someone who appears pro-town.

You do know this will be a team victory :hmpf: . This in itself is a good reason to vote you off

Also, just wondering, where are Anakin and his tender Padawan. They seemed to have disappeared after people stopped accusing them yesterday. I don't recall the end to that, did we actually confirm them, as best as we could, as being town, or did someone else appear as more suspicious so we went to them?

...I have to go and check. Then I'm off for a short meditational break.

I'm here, I'm here, hope you didn't miss me (though it's an honor to know you were thinking of me!). I poked my head in earlier, and you all seemed to be quite preoccupied with the information regarding Hugar. Now, if I'd been at the head of things, I'd just end him then and there, and proceed accordingly, but no one seemed to share my enthusiasm nor approve of it. All this waiting around, it's nonsense. We've got our suspect, why should we give these Sith any more time to plot against us aside from it being both in the rules, and the nature of the game?! Patience... bah! But I digress. I took leave of the council chambers and retired to my quarters. On my way there, I bumped into a few other masters in the hallways and shared words with them.

As for your other concern, I don't believe my loyalty to our Order was ever confirmed nor agreed upon yesterday, and other matters shadowed the question.

Might I be so bold as to Vote: Hugar Ssiht (badboytje88), with only "Hey, it's an investigation test" as my reasoning? (Yes, yes I was in fact so bold)

Anakin brings up an interesting point, can't we just end the day? It's not like something CAN happen, right? And the accused can just spite us by not voting, making the day longer.

That was more of me just getting into character, I don't mean to circumvent rules/practices, nor to suggest it, sorry 'bout that.

As per the code of conduct Master Yoda and Commander Gree have laid out for us, Nahdar, I don't believe we can end today's proceedings early (as much as I wish we could!). I did, however, make an inquiry regarding the vote tallies yesterday that seemed to fall by the wayside. I'll see if I can't go pull that segment of the temple's security recordings..

Ah, here we go..

Although, re-reading it now, I am confused by the existence of both a requirement of a majority vote, and simply "the one with the most votes", as the two seem to conflict.

Referring to:

2. Each day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting should be done in the following format; Vote: Character (Player). You don't get to unvote your vote, you only get one shot. No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to lynch a player. The player with the most votes will be lynched. In the case of a tie, the first to achieve their vote will be lynched. Voting is mandatory. Failure to vote will incur a vote penalty the following game day.

3. A game day will last a maximum of 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. The day will end when a majority vote has been reached. After the day has concluded, a night stage will commence, which will last a maximum of 48 hours. Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 hours of the night stage

Requiring a "majority vote" would, by definition, require the majority of us to vote to lynch a given person. Given that there are 23 of us alive right now, a majority would be reached after a single person accrued their twelfth vote. Now, it is entirely possible (however unlikely) that we could see two of our peers sitting at 11 votes each, neither actually meeting the requirement for a majority vote. If the 23rd vote is not cast for either of them (11-11-1), then we should not see a lynch (as per the first listed requirement for a lynch). However, the second listed factor states that the player with the most votes will be lynched, and is followed by the rule regarding ties. Was the "The player with the most votes will be lynched" meant to read as "In the event no majority is reached, the player with the most votes will be lynched"? That would make more sense to me. Otherwise, a spread of 10-8-5 would, by the first factor(majority), not meet the requirements for a lynch, but by the second factor(most votes), the person with 10 votes would be lynched, despite the disparity between the two rules.

As for ending early, as per the aforementioned code ("The day will end when a majority vote has been reached"), we should all have been dismissed from the council chambers before I cast my vote, which would leave myself and many others in a quite a sour spot. In situations such as today, where there was a crystal clear suspect for lynching, would you, Master Yoda and Commander Gree, reward the first half of our Order (those who voted before a majority was reached, and whose votes, in fact, were responsible for that majority), while punishing the latter half of our Order (those who didn't cast their vote before the majority was reached)? If everyone casts their vote on the logical target, then it is inevitable that half of us will not be able to cast our vote before the day "is (technically) over" according to the rules.

Yoda has stated that the person with the most votes would be lynched, but still, I don't see a reason to prolong this day with at least 36 hours

Ah, I must have missed him saying that. And yet, the rules stand as I quoted, as do my concerns (unless otherwise answered, and if so, please do let me know  )

I think it's pretty clear. Although some of the things seem to have been pasted from another set of rules. The day will not end until 1. Everyone has voted, or

2. the 72 hour limit is up.

At the end of the time, whoever has the most votes against them (even if it's just 2 votes), is lynched.

If there is a tie vote, say 5-5-3-and so on. Then the person who got 5 votes against them first will be lynched.

I'm here, I'm here, hope you didn't miss me (though it's an honor to know you were thinking of me!).

Sigh, unfortunately it is my duty to be looking after you, Padawan. I wish I didn't have to, but it is still the duty bestowed upon me by my master, may the force be with him.

While I would agree that it should be very clear and that your interpretation is the one that I have assumed is actually in place, the rules, written as they are, confirm only the 72-hour limit you suggested, and the requirements for lynching are, as I mentioned yesterday, situationally in opposition. I wasn't just prattling on earlier.

The day will not end until 1. Everyone has voted,

Is not indicated at all. The closest is...

The day will end when a majority vote has been reached.

...which brings us back to the questions/concerns I raised previously.

Sigh, unfortunately it is my duty to be looking after you, Padawan. I wish I didn't have to, but it is still the duty bestowed upon me by my master, may the force be with him.

I am a Knight now and would appreciate you addressing me as such, master. Though I appreciate your guidance and wisdom still.

In case this somehow gets turned against me, I delved into this topic in response to Nahdar's inquiry about ending the day early (which technically, according to the rules-as-written, it should), and the problems that would raise for those who had not yet voted. Had this not been raised as a public question, I would have gone to Yoda or Gree with this.

Well like the rest of you, I too would very much like to test the investigator's result and so I have no reservations about voting for Hugar.

Yes, you have it correct palathadric.

I suppose that it is beneficial to vote for Hugar, because if he is innocent then we can take down Mr. Holmes :classic: So despite what I thought at first, it makes sense to Vote: Hugar Ssiht (badboytje88)

Posted

It is now time to cast my vote, and what a shame that there are absolutely no leads :sarcasm:

I don't see any reason to believe that the result is fake. And Hugar has done nothing to convince me other than 'don't lynch me, I'm vengeful and want to hurt the town!'. This flailing is rather like that of yesteday's Master Windu. If Hugar was a Jedi, why ever would he threaten to deliberatly kill a valuable player, that is as good as a confession for me. I doubt even Hugar would be such a selfish idiot to do such a thing if he were on our side, conclusion? He is not on our side, he's a Sith. So I have no doubt in that I shall Vote: Hugar Sshit (badboytje88). I hope that this day does not go on longer than necerssary now that we have our Sith. But just because we know who to lynch today doesn't mean we shouldn't remain vigilant and look for Sith-tells to act upon tommorow. :sweet:

Since this buisness has gone well, why don't we celebrate? Are you sure you don't want me to pet your head-tails Aayla?
