Posted November 20, 200618 yr i am not sure if these have been posted here before... but i just love them!they show what lego is all about (or better say, what it used to be about) and yet they are so simple! *wub*
November 20, 200618 yr Ahh thanks.. where are they from? And am I the only one that its very unlike Lego to have a Shadow of a Tank?
November 20, 200618 yr And am I the only one that its very unlike Lego to have a Shadow of a Tank? Nope, that surprised me, too...
November 20, 200618 yr Ahh thanks.. where are they from? And am I the only one that its very unlike Lego to have a Shadow of a Tank? Nope, that surprised me, too... True, but maybe those are tributes from a fan and not actuals ads, or are they ?
November 20, 200618 yr They are from Joe Meno's Brickshelf folder. I am still unsure of what they are for but I think "they" could have given the Tyrannosaur some legs made of basic bricks.
November 21, 200618 yr Too <insert that tiresome argument>. (LOL. actually these ads, regular or not, capture the spirit of lego perfectly... except maybe the Sherman (or is it a Bradley?) LOL)
November 21, 200618 yr Strange... on the last poster (tank) the botton piece is a 2x5 brick? Hehe, you're right. Maybe it's their way of saying "We'll never build war machinery since the bricks don't exist, but we wanted to show what's possible" X-D
November 21, 200618 yr I really like the feeling that they bring. It would be a nice publicity campaign for christmas...
November 21, 200618 yr he probably should have gone for a fire truck instead of a tank, and i guess it's a little bit too difficult to grasp for a child, but they're great! 8-
November 22, 200618 yr Hehe, you're right. Maybe it's their way of saying "We'll never build war machinery since the bricks don't exist, but we wanted to show what's possible" X-D it's a 2x1 and a 2x4 held together by a 2x4 plate X-D
November 22, 200618 yr Simplicity is good. I really like these, but the tank surprised me too. Don't think they're official.
November 22, 200618 yr it's a 2x1 and a 2x4 held together by a 2x4 plate X-D That would be the obvious explanation (or a 2x2 and 2x3 brick), but there's no visible "gap", so it looks like a 2x5 brick :-P ;-)
November 22, 200618 yr That's a smart idea. LEGO shoulduse that for those brick buckets they have. That would rake in cash.
November 22, 200618 yr True, but you people are forgetting that this is no-longer TLC's official "feel". The generic Shoot-em-up feel is what they are going for, becaues that is what the "target audience" wants.
November 23, 200618 yr I love em, the tank is a bit odd for them though. It does appeal to the target audience like Admiral Ravensburg said...
November 27, 200618 yr Hi all, these are real ads that were done by an ad agency in South Africa: http://login.vnuemedia.com/pdn/newswire/ar...t_id=1002726615 Award-winning too. I really like the simplicity of the concept - with only a few bricks, one's imagination can create any variety of things! As for the tank, that was an interesting choice. Joe
