Scouty Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 Let's try to get ourselves connected so we can send messages...I'm going to my Wii now X-D . EDIT: Hey, got your message. Quote

Kikuichimonji Posted December 6, 2006 Author Posted December 6, 2006 Tomorrow the hunt begins. Hope my pre-order is high enough on the list...else I'll just look in every store that could possibly sell it. Quote
Lost Viking Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Tomorrow the hunt begins. Hope my pre-order is high enough on the list...else I'll just look in every store that could possibly sell it. Or you'll have to sit outside freezing your but off for 12 hours not being able to play your DS without getting frostbite in your fingers and not being able to get any sleep because a stupid drunk lady is screaming at the back of the line!!!... Not that I know... X-O X-D Quote
Scouty Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 And your from the Netherlands(SP? sorry if it's spelt wrong, or even if it's the right country.) during wintertime, good luck getting your Wii pre-order complete :-) . A Thermos of nice hot chocolate comes in handy during this time, or coffe, what ever hot drink you prefer. Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted December 7, 2006 Author Posted December 7, 2006 I don't think it goes like that in the Netherlands. You just walk into a shop whenever you feel like it and ask if you can pre-order the Wii. Did that 3 months ago. If you don't have a pre-order, camping is pretty useless since just about every store sold out on pre-orders already. Anyway, I just got a call. I'm gonna pick it up right now :-D Quote
JoeMI6 Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 It's a waiting game for me. I might have to wait up to five working days for my Wii to appear! Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted December 7, 2006 Author Posted December 7, 2006 Well, I've played a bit, got Internet working and toyed around with the settings. Wii Sports is really nice, I showed it to my two sisters and my dad (only one of my sisters plays games normally) and they all loved it. I think it's a really great game for newcomers, but I'd rather play Zelda myself. Zelda is as great as I expected it to be. Using the Wii is a bit hard (bet it'll work better on the Gamecube), but that good old "Zelda feel" is all over the place. It was worth the 1.5 year wait... Wii Play is pretty nifty, teaching you to use your Wii Remote. Since it was 50 Euro incl. a Remote (A loose Remote is 40), it's actually only 10 Euro. And that's the right price since it basically is a collection of tech demo's. But hey, you know you'll want a second Remote anyway... Quote
JoeMI6 Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 If I get mine tomorrow, be sure of a review on my blog (the address of which I'll put up when it happens) Quote
Lost Viking Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Kiku, have you got your friend code stuff set up yet? Quote
Scouty Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 That's awsome! I thought Europe release dates were the 8th, not the 7th? Oh, well. Hopefully Wi-Fi games will come soon! Like Maybe a Mario Party game, or something like that. Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted December 7, 2006 Author Posted December 7, 2006 I'm still figuring out how to get my friend code set up. Should have it up soon :) Edit: got it, see first post. Can someone tell me what I can do online as long as there are no games? I know you can send messages, but is there anything else? Quote
Scouty Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 If you earn points you can buy games and such. You have a weather channel. Nothing now to interact with other people than messages though. Quote
Lost Viking Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Wii can also send Mii's to eachother. And I think Imperial knows all about that! :-P Quote
Starwars4J Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 If you earn points you can buy games and such. You have a weather channel. Nothing now to interact with other people than messages though. You don't earn the points, you have to purchase them :-/ Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted December 8, 2006 Author Posted December 8, 2006 Well, I wasn't planning on buying any VC games since I have most of the retro consoles you can buy games for already, and I'd rather play them on an actual cartridge. Weather and News Channel aren't available yet for Europe...but they will be before the end of the month, I think. Ah well, at least it works. Now bring on Super Smash Bros. Brawl... Quote
JoeMI6 Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 I got my Wii this morning. Well, what can I say that hasn't been said already. I've fallen in love with it, and have yet to play Zelda or Red Steel! I owe a big thanks to Nintendo. Quote
Lost Viking Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Nice man! I hope you enjoy it as much as I have! Quote
Scouty Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 You don't earn the points, you have to purchase them :-/ No, you can. But I think you have to set up an account on Nintendo.com to start getting them. Quote
SuvieD Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 If you get a chance try out Rayman do it. Easily recommended. Quote
Lost Viking Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 If you get a chance try out Rayman do it. Easily recommended. I rented Rayman few times (for free *sweet* ) and beat it! It was a really awesome and hilarious game! No, you can. But I think you have to set up an account on Nintendo.com to start getting them. Also, I am pretty sure you can only buy points. I have a MyNintendo account and have not got anything Quote
