The sad thing is that he will probably suffer less consequence than a kid who stuffs minifigs in their pocket and tries to walk out.

I do wonder what they will do with all the evidence tho...

Wow. I still can't believe this:

A MF for 50USD? The Podracers for 35USD? Holey moley.

The numbers for the Falcon are clearly off...I don't remember there being a $279 Falcon? The most recent one was $140.

Sounds familiar?

:oh: He's one of us...

But yeah I did hear about this. Shame on him for stealing, but I guess it just goes to show the popularity and value of the little bricks. And most people don't realize that, so that leaves a lot of room for manipulation.

It is never ingenious.

It's amazing how these people always get caught out when they get too greedy.

Did he not think that stores keep a track of their inventory and wouldn't eventually pick up on it? Very silly

That's fine and all, but those are all older, and on Amazon. While this took place at Target, with physical barcodes that he swapped out. Maybe has been doing this for a long time, but I simply stated that 7965 MF was not that price.

Sorry, did not see 7965 in your post.. just ".I don't remember there being a $279 Falcon?"

He's probably a valued poster on these boards. Makes you think, doesn't it?

That's a wierd reply. Do you know the guy or his presumed alias on this forum?

Anyay, he did not seem (from the articles I've read) like a LEGO luver who'd spend mindless hours on the internet discussing endless details of a window on the latest modular building .. more like a common criminal. And stupid to boot

I was merely making a cheeky comment on the fact that he is obviously an AFOL with good knowledge of the LEGO market, making it at least likely that he's a member of this board.

Everybody can do this kind of shoplifting... I can't figure out if one was discovered how many are there doing the same thing, or starting doing that after finding this one on the internet.

That's exactly the same thing I thought!

Anyway... you're a millionaire, couldn't you pay someone to steal things for you?
