Selander Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 B-RV-15C This is as Swedish as a house can possibly get. "Wooden" red panels with white corners and DkOrange clay roof tiles. Owner also takes pride in owning a green environmental friendly Smart car. C & C welcome as always. Quote
gotoAndLego Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Looks great. I feel like the roof needs some details like gutters. What about a chimney, it gets cold in the winters? Love the colors and your choice in red bricks. Quote
F0NIX Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 What a lovly little house! I just love that little porch and all the details around it. Looks nice with that reddish roof (dark orange or?). A few years back I also made a shot of making a model of a red Swedish house. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/138761 I see now that I should have made the roof red even if the original had black house. Rufus Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 I love this! The design has a 'beauty in simplicity' about it which I suspect is an illusion: there looks to be a lot of complicated angles in there. I love the little porch detail, and that's a nice use of the grooved bricks. Quote
fyrmedhatt Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 That is exactly the kind of house I associate with Sweden! It really reminds me of the Emil i Lönneberga tv series, which is a big part of the image I had of Sweden when I was a kid. The model itself is beautiful in its simplicity, where you have effectively shown the wood siding, as well as the dark orange roof shows the typical roof tile color. I also like how you built the wood columns holding up the awning over the front door. Quote
JopieK Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Really, really nice! LEGO can't make it so realistic and lovely ;) Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 I the house 'Selander', the red walls are the bomb ! A bit larger and you'll have a typical US farm barn......though as it is.....it would pass as a US farm house for sure ! Brick On 'Selander' ! Quote
L@go Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 I love this, it's easily recognisable as Scandinavian - had it been white instead of red, it could just as well have been Norwegian. A very nice stuga :) and the little porch is adorable! It really reminds me of the Emil i Lönneberga tv series, which is a big part of the image I had of Sweden when I was a kid. Exactly :D Quote
purpleparadox Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 This deserves more comments! It looks very realistic, the first time I saw it I didn't think it was Lego! It gives the exact feeling of a Swedish house, good job. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Those walls are gorgeous! The front porch is very cute as well Excellent work Selander Quote
eurotrash Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Ser mycket svenska till mig....(It looks very Swedish to me) Quote
L@go Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 (edited) Ser mycket svenska till mig....(It looks very Swedish to me) That means, roughly, "see much Swedish for me". Google Translate? Edited May 26, 2012 by L@go Quote
Asper Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 This is really a lovely house! Great idea for the walls. Quote
Legogal Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 I love this design! Have seen houses like this in about 20 countries, so maybe it represents a "world house," rather than just a Swedish one. The front porch is really special...congratulations! Quote
snaillad Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Nice choice of colours here. I agree that the porch looks especially nice! Quote
