So, I talked to Superficial Username about where he gets those CGI Friends avatars, and it turns out they are screencaps from these animated Lego Friends clips that started popping up on Youtube about a month ago. They seem to be parts of larger episodes, and they are in Greek/Korean just like those early Ninjago episodes that were uploaded, so I guess this pretty much confirms that this will be the new series for next year. :classic: Can't say I'm surprised. Can't say I'm very excited either as it seems about as girl-oriented as Ninjago is boy-oriented (which is quite a lot). But who knows, it just might be a surprise hit like the sets themselves, or MLP:FiM.

Huh. Quite curious. I knew LEGO Friends would be getting an animated TV special, but I didn't totally expect it to be the series that would get a full TV series. It's aimed at a very different demographic than the Ninjago TV series, after all.

Curious how it will turn out. It could very easily help flesh out the universe of LEGO Friends even further, and I'm sure fans of that theme will find lots of inspiration for building in it just as fans of LEGO Ninjago found inspiration in the Ninjago TV series. It's still quite unusual that we don't know of any plans for another series targeting young boys, though, since those are such a reliable demographic for both LEGO sets and TV shows.

I wonder if Wil Film will also be behind the LEGO Friends series. They did a great job producing the Ninjago series and designing colorful characters, vehicles, and settings.

I'm exetemely dissapointed with Lego for pulling off such a sexist move. Ninjago is a boy's series, Friends is a girl's series. Hero Factory doesn't even qualify, as there's only episodes when a new wave releses. Why Lego think it's okay to replace a boy's TV series with a girl's one, is beyond me. Why they can't just air one series for boys, and one series for girls. Lego is riding Friends' success into the ground, a bit too much in fact. Ninjago was a successfull series, which Lego seriously underestimated.

My son has a friend, whose a girl, and she hates Lego Friends, and loves Lego City.

Sorry but I just don't see this to be a very wise move by Lego, but that's just my opinion.

Why do you all seem to think the LEGO Friends series (which isn't even a series, it's a 22-minute episode divided into a couple of episodes of 2-3 minutes each) has replaced the Ninjago series? It's obvious the Ninjago series is going to continue, and I don't see how it's related to the LEGO Friends episode in any way. :hmpf:

Yeah, I don't get all those arguments either. When was it confirmed that Friends would replace Ninjago? :sceptic: The first time we heard about this series, it was listed alongside Ninjago, so I think we can assume that the two shows will run simultaneously, in which case there's nothing to get upset about. If ninjago ends, it's just because TLG doesn't see any more potential in that theme.

Uhm, how was Ninjago's success underestimated? Lego planned on having a big first wave with both spinners and regular sets, as well as the TV show, books, videogames, etc. from Day 1. I think they were very well aware that it would be a success, otherwise they wouldn't have put so much effort into it. :hmpf:

I have to agree with you. Ninjago has had more products than any other theme this year. Lego in no way underestimated it.
