Oh no, no blue. I'd much rather have more black, green, orange, purple, or silver parts.

Speaking of silver, wouldn't it be cool if next year's flagship was a Delorean DMC-12, fully chromed?

anyway, my personal wish list for next year is:

1h 2013:

9490 Mini Tow Truck, in purple (yes, purple. I've actually seen a few in that color). Think miniature 8285, with similar features. Alternate model is undecided.

9491 Mini Bucket Wheel Excavator, in black. A truly adorable, and slightly chibified little set. Functions include rotating the bucket wheel by power takeoff, moving the bucket left and right, and conveyor belts, made with old chain links  in additon, the tracks would be new rubber ones. bucket wheel is new part, which includes new hollow buckets, and hubless gears. Alternate model is a bulldozer, so you can use the hubless gears and chain links elsewhere.

9492 Garbage Truck, in green and white. This model would have a claw, and a lifting bin in front. New parts include mini truck tires, and 3 x 11 panels. Alternate model is a snowplow.

9493 Hot Hatch, in some eye catching color. a little car, loosely based on Barman's design, it would have front wheel drive, a four cylinder engine, and a 6 speed gearbox, with new clutch gears in different sizes and drive rings. oh, and 2 updated Technic figs. Alternate model is 2 motorbikes.

9494 Zetros, in orange. this is fairly self explanatory, and it would use a live axle system similar to the one used by Thirdwigg in his super 8081. it would include new 3 x 11 panels, and new leafspring parts. Alternate model is airport pushback tug.

9495 Quad Bot, in lime green. a transforming quad bike, sort of like a cross between 8852 robot, and a RideBack. it would shift between a quad bike like form, and a 2 legged robot form. it would include provisions for power functions, as well as new small motor cycle wheels compatible with new rubber tracks to make big wheels. Alternate model is Ariel Atom style sports car.

9496 X Jet, in Black with yellow highlights. this model would be the first half flagship. functions would include vectored thrust engines, realistic landing gear and turbines, and an opening cockpit. this thing would have swept forward wings, sort of like an X-29, but it would not be based on that. New parts include new panels to make a better nose, and new flex system parts. Alternate model is... something, maybe a V-22 style tiltrotor?

2h 2013

9497 Mini Off Roader, in black, white, and orange. It's a mini copy of 9398. nothing much to say. Alternate is Tatra type truck like original.

9498 Drag Tractor, in maybe a mish mash of colors. would have weight bricks, and have stickers that say "redneck rocket" would look really like something made in a junkyard. Rear wheels are made from a total of 4 new truck wheels.think mini Power Puller, with similar functions. can be equipped with power functions. Alternate model is a pickup truck.

9499 City Crane, in white. Similar in function to a Terex city crane. 4 axles, and one cab. Arm would have many segments. naturally has provisions for power functions. Alternate model is road grader.

9500 DeLorean DMC-12, in chromed silver. Yeah, seriously. would include gearbox, engine, all round independent suspension, cabin and HOG steering, and the famous doors. alternate model is Back To The Future style time machine. includes instructions for adding full PF control, via motor pack. (see below for details.)

In addition, there are 3 parts packs.

9487 Technic Team. A set of 3 updated Technic Figures.

9488 Light P/F pack. Includes 3 sets of lights, 1 servo, and 1 m motor. and a new mini battery too.

9489 Motor P/F pack. Includes 2 m motors, 2 Xl motors, 1 L motor, 1 servo motor, battery box, and most important, 3 new R/F receivers and remotes.

So, in conclusion, we have many new parts, including:

3x11 panel

small rubber tracks, and sprockets.

miniature buckets.

hubless gears.

smaller truck tires.

new clutch gears and driving rings, for more compact gearboxes.

new leaf spring parts.

new motor cycle wheels, compatible with above rubber tracks.

new panels.

updated flex system.

R/F transmitters and receivers.

Many new colors.

Is all of the above pie in the sky? oh yeah, but at this point, that's where we're speculating. and hey, I can dream, can't I?

I think LEGO missed a great opportunity to add some color to the Technic line with the helicopter. It would have looked much better with a blue/white scheme.

i'd like to see a silver Mercedes SLS AMG for the 2013 flagship. Not motorized, but with a working transmission, suspension, engine, and dampened doors. I'd also be happy with another road crane or a remote control forklift.

As for new parts, I'd like to see longer pneumatics and an s motor.

IMO i would love to see john deere 4940 sprayer with pnuematics for the sprayer arms and power functions for the drive. i have not seen any sprayer ever put out by lego technic... but it would introduce some new thing and reintroducew others... ie john deere green panels... and large narrow wheels (unimog size but thin). sprayer

Is this what you are thinking about?

this would be really cool actually. I like the idea of JD green too!

Would like to see an improved Forklift again.

I enjoyed the last Technic Forklift we had a couple years ago.

I would really enjoy when the flagships become smaller again.

A big tractor with pneumatics, 4x4 and compressor :classic:

Sounds awesome to me! I hope they include a folding disk and mower attachments.

And if they make it green, I would be thrilled.

I was hoping to see some attachments for the 8110 unimog, but I guess they don't see the value in it.

@gmshades

Attachments are ours to make. Its part of the imagination and creativity in Lego!

I think I would really like to see another forklift. It doesn't even have to be a flagship or large set (though it would be preferable). 8248 from 1998 was one of my first Technic sets so there's obviously a heap of nostalgia too

I saw the rebirth of the Barcode Multi-Set (8479) is at the top of my list.

Has everyone forgotten about the Unimog? There is a load of things that Lego could reslease with regards to attachments. Maybe a trailer, maybe something that will fit on the trailer like a roller, or a mini excavator thats not so mini. Even a few different buckets. All of which could be released as different items that we keep adding to. It would also be fine for children who will have yet more playing possibilities.

I didn't see the third page and just noticed it's already been said, oh well.

Wouldn't mind a UCS mobile crane using 8 or 10 of the unimog wheels, but that would be huge and expensive.

I haven't seen anyone suggest a Motor Grader.

If only for the amount of functions such as:

6x4 drive with load equalisation

Centre and front steering

Side sloping front wheels

Rear ripper

Blade pitch, rotation, slew, slope and elevation

Great to see with UniMog size wheels, double length pneumatic rams, PF controlled pneumatic valves and PF on-board compressor.....

dreaming ;)

It's about bloody time for a Technic Exclusive! There have been exclusives in a lot of themes but never a true BIG Technic exclusive.

My wish list.

1.)Supercar- Bigger and better than 8070.

2.)Garbage truck with pneumatic functions.

3.)Haul truck-With unimog tyres.

:classic:

(I searched to check if this is a duplicate thread, if I missed an existing thread about this please merge).

With no evidence at all, I make the guess that 2013 will bring us an updated equivalent of the Mobile Crane from 1978

http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=855-1

I don't think this would be the flagship, I think it would fill the second slot in the range, and would be motorised for a number of functions, but not full RC.

It would be either a 2 axle rough terrain crane (Grove, Terex etc), or a 3 axle city crane (Demag, Liebherr etc).

It wouldn't be a huge model, it would be in scale with 8109 etc, and would use very compact, intricate mechanisms, whilst avoiding the excessive weight of larger models.

What a silly guessing game :classic:

I had started working on a newer version of the old 851, had the frame and out rigers together. I used the out riggers from the 8258 truck crane and was gonna use the 8053 upper unit. scale would have been of between the two halfs though. I think a new set in the same scale as the uni mog would be a very nice set, price might be high though for the size, but you could have a lot of PF functions and detail to it.

What would be even cooler would be a BLUE 2door Jeep Wrangler JK, with unimog tires, and a v8, gearbox, and pf-ready! :cry_happy:

Well the problem with supercars is that they HAVE to drive fast when you are talking about PF functions. Maybe the servo's of L / XL motors can do that with some smart gearing.

My speculation would be another iteration in the PF functions. Where they released the new motor and the new train pieces.

It's very well possible they would do a PF control center set in the near future. Which would be nice because you can do basic programming,

AND do a wireless model at the same time. The previous models were something that would look really nice (like the helicopter from CC2 and the 'printer' from CC1).

They have all the new tech, why not showcase it in a new control center set.

Another guess would be a new crane like the one that was on sale just before the 8275 Bulldozer.

Which would be nice because the pneumatics that were part of the construction weren't strong enough.

If you want a Wild guess they should try to create one of those i-Robot cars with balls as wheels.
